The story is what makes it truly great
Wasting my time asking to create an account for a nonexistent server.
The game isn't bad, but it's janky and floaty. Doesn't feel like I'm playing a game so much as holding a button down.
53 Hours to beat it is a long game.
Combat is very clunky and frustrating.
Skill tree is pretty interesting, but powerups and rage system feels bad.
Katarina is a great companion with nice dialogs and useful passives.
Graphics are old but OK.
I would also like to note the interesting exploration - the game has many hidden quests and activities.
Conclusion: Final Cut is an outdated ARPG with clumsy combat and interesting mechanics with poor implementation. Also, I had a few crashes during the walkthrough after which I made ragequit and uninstalled the game. Soooo... I can only recommend it if you are a die-hard ARPG fan.

Introduction
Van Helsing desperately tries to be the thinking man's isometric ARPG, and fails at it. The result is an experience that is clunkier than similar games which stay within the natural boundaries of the genre.
The Good
The setting and story is inspired. Katarina is a fun adventuring companion. This would make a great streaming TV show if it was adapted properly.
Also, while the combat is clunky, the ambitious attempts at intellectual depth do occasionally work.
For instance, this is one of the few isometric ARPGs that attempts stealth mechanics. Most of the time the stealth falls flat or becomes tedious, but occasionally it is effective and fun.
The Bad
The visual art is really drab. Pulling off a muted look requires careful palette design (Diablo II being a classic example) where Van Helsing is one of those games that looks like the artists just put washed out filters over the textures. I tried extreme gamma and contrast settings and that helped a little. (I rarely ever adjust the gamma setting in games.)
The audio is also unusually bland for this sort of game.
The UI is likewise clunky, especially for controller. The UI leans hard toward style over functionality, which would work if the game mechanics were simpler.
I've never written a review before, but this one made me want to. Worst purchase I've ever made in my life. I really don't know if this is a good game. Steam shows that I have 115 minutes in the game. That's how long I've been just staring at the splash screen that hangs endlessly. I don't know how many times I tried to launch the game, but only one attempt was successful. And I still couldn't log into my account. Tech support is on the level as well. They responded that everything was fine on their end.

Hand down one of the best ARPG ever made , shame I discovered this game too late

An enjoyable stress relief. Just shoot everything in sight without a care in the world. Seriously, this is an easy to play game with lots of variety between levels, good enough visuals and just fun to play.
Can´t login or create account to play online, so I can´t play the game and cloud saves aren´t also available.

A Diablo-like with too many active skills to put on hotkeys and too few passives. A good relaxing adventure, but don't come looking for a masterpiece or a must play here.

Not exactly hack and slash arpg type games fan, but I enjoyed my playthrough. World style, enemy design, music is good. Cant say much about story outside it exists and it`s decent, but you shouldn`t expect any mindblowing twists. Game also has adventure map, which basically means endless grid, while reusing same old maps from story, quite fast became a slog. You can also grab a friend for coop run.
Overall decent game, especially if taken on a sale( Like I did ). If you like this type of games, then you will most likely enjoy your first playthrough, after that? Ehh.
