there are glitches in game that do not let you proceed. Very poor form to put out a game that is like that!
I was willing to beat this and give a positive review. And then the gawe put me in a 1x1 room and infinetly spawned antlions at an interval of 0.5 seconds.
Prospekt is the only other original fangame of Half-Life outside of Black Mesa and Hunt down the Freakmen thats sold on steam. But unlike the immense detail and polish Black Mesa has, and the so terrible it's funny cutscenes HdtF has, Prospekt feels like a lazy, uninspired fan mod that is charged real money to play. It's Ironic how Entropy Zero 1 & 2 are both free, yet 10000000x better than this.
Stay away from this game.
maybe, someone like this game, and it have for what people can like this. But for me it's just another one boring free game from steam, but which is cost money. And if we are talking about money, this game have big problems
first, this game have no story. Yeah, it have a dialogues, but I don't think there was a scenario. This is just a bunch of dialogues.
the second problem is gameplay. Like, it's just a shooter, boring shooter without any puzzles like HL. We are just going somewhere, meeting enemies, killing them, healing in next room. Repeat for the rest of the game. It's not DOOM, it's not HL, and this is boring
I spent not so much money, and maybe for this price the game is better, than any free steam game but it's better, than HDTF anymore (I haven't played HDTF)
the game is playable, and maybe i'm gonna recomend this to you (sad that steam doesn't give a neutral rating option)

nova prospekt
Gunfights are composed of fighting waves of enemies with barely any cover. The level design consists of corridors with rooms that you will have to hold out in while waves of enemies rush you. The story is uninteresting. Avoid
This game is a solid 6.5/10. Fighting the combine here is more fun than ever, but that is really all this feels like to me. Just a bunch of sections fighting combine. They don't really do a good job explaining the story, its kinda just go and plow through combine. Although- the flashbacks that Adrian has are nice. It also feels like they put more attention to detail in some things than others. Like this game looks amazing graphically (except for the HUD numbers, they are out of place) but then they didn't/ and or barely changed the c_hands, making it a simple black reskin of Gordon's hands. And there are no unique weapons. Like, none at all return, and you get the crowbar instead of the wrench or a knife? It didn't require much effort to due a crowbar reskin, so that's when you know the devs were lazy as hell. But that also doesn't make sense, because they made cool combine models? And they included a xen section which WAS cool but its so DANG SHORT. All in all, if you are looking for a Half-life 2 mod to play, and you have already played mods like Swelter, Entropy Zero 1 & 2, and Amalgam (since those are all free and this game IS FIVE DOLLARS!) and you really like scenarios with killing combine, this game is for you.

Sadly Steam doesn't offer a neutral review button, because this is one of the games where neutral fits the best.
So Prospekt, or as it is also often referred to, the other Hunt down the Freeman. But is it really that bad though? The quick answer is no. But that doesn't directly mean it's good either.
Story:
Prospekt really wants to be a sequel to opposing force. During the events of nova prime in half life 2, the vortigaunts and the G-Man decide to get old Adrian Shephard out of stasis to help him support Gordan Freeman against the never ending armies of the combine. I wish there was more to say to it, but there really isn't. The end of the game is that Shephard is being thrown back into stasis, which means that everything that happens in this game doesn't have the slightest effect on the Half Life timeline at all. So there is basically no story in the 1-3 hours of playtime (comes down to playstyle and amounts of confusion). There is not really any story so let's talk about the gameplay, shall we?
The gameplay is basically Half Life 2. No new weapons or enemy types. You mostly play against the combine with a few exceptions when a few headcrabs an antilons show up. Nothing crazy is changing. There is only a handful of weapons, which we've all seen in Half-Life 2 already. No new weapons and also not all weapons that we've seen in Half Life 2 or other mods. The game is using mainly setpieces and level structure form the original half life 2. The leveldesign can be also confusing sometimes, though it's mostly quiet linear. One thing that annoyed me in particular are the bulletsponging enemies. They swallow half, partly even up to one mag of the smg and plasma rifle. Quiet annoying. There is plenty of ammo and healthpacks, so you never struggle at any point. Also the short visit to Xen was quiet nice, since they put low gravity instead of giving you another long jump module, which to be honest, it was quiet good in black mesa but in Half Life it was the biggest piece of dogsh*t (quote Dwayne the Rock Johnson). So that's a nice fresh idea for once, inside this mess of copy and paste Half-Life 2 assets. I also like it that it focusses more on Adrian Shephard and the G-Man instead of Gordan or any other characters. Though there is no real story anyways here.
Another thing I want to mention, there is barely any bugs at all, and that really means something, if the only other paid Half-Life fan game "Hunt down the Freeman" counts as possible the buggiest mess ever created. They did quiet fine here. So to sum it up, Prospekt is really not as bad as Hunt down the Freeman, but is it any good though? Ehh, not really. You don't miss anything here, if you don't play it. Even as hardcore half life fan you'll be probably pretty disappointed.
I just feel like that this is a wasted opportunity. This could've become the sequel to Opposing Force and instead, well instead it ended up being Prospekt. Even if it's better, as it is being held, it's just still not really good. And though it's understandable, that the developers want to earn some money, this just really should'nt cost anything. I think it's actually against the Valve copyright, same with Hunt Down the Freeman, since they earn money from assets that valve produced. Well, f*ck it. There is plenty of free mods out there for Half Life. Also you can play though portal, which is also connected with the half life lore. I just don't get why something like this costs 5€ (2,50€ in sale), but entropy zero 1 & 2, which built a complete story with new animations, weapons, and a story which takes 4 hours to finish (the second part at least double of that if not even more) etc. is a free mod. So, in the case you really really really have played through all half life games, Black Mesa, Portal, Entropy Zero and all the other great free mods for half life 1 and 2, then and only then it might make sense to think about picking this up on sale for 2,50€. And honestly, even then it's not really worth it. The only reason I recommend this is, because it's not downright unplayable dogsh*t. Doesn't mean you should play it though. Farewell
