fun
Somewhat fun game, similar to Peggle - shoot a ball and clear the screen of bricks.
It works as long as you only aim to finish the game. It becomes utter shite when you aim to 3-star all levels.
The absolute worst issue is the calculation of when a level ends. Either when your last ball exits the screen or when the last purple (the ones you need to clear for the level to complete) brick is destroyed. Regardless whether physics are still happening. So you can lose a level you would have won just a few seconds later.
There is also a number of special ammunition available. But the game does it very best to discourage you from using them. Starting by not telling you what each does - at all and ending in having to purchase each single shot with "ghosts" you got from clearing a level, losing the shot once used, even i you restart a level and having the selection area part of the screen you can use to aim the ball launcher with and determine its strength, accidentally voiding your 3-star attempt.
Well, kind of. Despite what the game tells you, you can still 3-star a level with using special ammunition, you "just" need to clear the entire screen. And, boy, that's a real challenge thanks to those questionable mechanics. You also absolutely *need* the specials for some levels, turning the game into a grind to be able to buy them.
The difficulty is all over the place as well. Some levels are hard as nails to simply complete within the shot limit only to have the next one being stupidily simple again. Of course you can grind previous levels to buy specials to help you out, though. Which gives the feeling of it being designed with micro transactions in mind.
Else there is not much left to say about the game. There is some kind of story going on each 20 levels, which results in changing the backdrop. But does a puzzle game need it?
We came, we saw, we uninstalled this bullshit cos this is big jank, even for a peggle clone.
Let's be clear about one thing. This is NOT peggle.
However, while this might not be the peggle substitute on steam that you came here for, it is still a pachinko/plinko style game with some interesting physics action. If you can be OK with that the physics gameplay is the only similarity to the game you THOUGHT this game would be, it might be well worth to pick up if it is on sale. Be warned though, the story is horribly unengaging and stupid and since the story kind of brand the theme and colours of the game... Well, you do need to really need that precision marble drop game fix to enjoy this one.
I needed that when I got this game on sale, so I feel I did get what I paid for and therefore I give a reluctant and weak thumbs up.
Very nice to some point. Levels seem very unbalanced, one level is far too easy, the next one is quite hard. Overall very repetitive, but you can have fun for tow or three hours.
A peggle clone that leaves alot to be desired. There's a story here, but you wouldn't miss much by clicking passed the handful of comic clips that tell said story. It seems alright for a few levels, but it just doesn't capture any of the magic of it's inspiration. Sure, it's a serviceable game for the most part with some bugs that cause level failures when they should have been level successes. Some levels were better than others and the difficulty is very inconsistent so it will challenge at random intervals and may surprise.
Overall, Steam achievements are the only real incentive to play thru to the end and even then it's a drag. As a big fan of peggle, I can't recommend this one. Save the cash and go play/buy Peggle and Peggle 2.
Interesting! Pretty cartoony graphics
Had a hard to time figuring out how to play in the beginning
A stripped down version of Peggle. There is NO high scores for levels. So its literally "get the stars" and move on. Instead of special characters- you get special items. And guess what? The special items make it so you cant get perfect stars on the level. To get these items- you literally have to grind through levels over and over. That would be fine- if the gameplay didnt get boring. Plus there is no indicator of what the special items do! So you have to waste your money at least once on each item to find out what it is.
Another big complaint- the game seems a bit glitchy at times. There is the moments when you clear every peg for a level- but the game tells you that you didn't. The level will end- but you wont have perfect stars even though you should.
Game maker hasnt been active at all on the forums, or when I emailed about a few things. That's kind of stupid- considering the game hasnt been out too long. So it honestly seems like shovelware/abandonware.
If the game maker updates the game or actually responds to some stuff, I'll update the review accordingly.
I wanted to like this game. I'm a fan of similar games, such as the Peggle series. However, there's absolutely nothing new here. It's almost like they took Peggle, reskinned it, and hung the blocks by strings. That's the gist of it. You shoot a ball, hoping to eliminate all of the pink blocks before you run out of shots. Same as Peggle, except that Peggle had nice twists to the gameplay, whereas 20 some levels in, there's nothing new to keep my interest. The game also has a few game mechanics that are rather irritating. First, some of the blocks will reset if you hit them twice. That wouldn't be a problem, except that you have no clue which ones those are. Also, appearently progressing in the game is dependant on a star system. So after truding through 80 levels, just to finish the game, you are rewarded with a message that says you have to go back, and redo levels to get more stars. Hard to do, when in order to get all 3 stars, you have to break every brick in a level WITHOUT your special weapons. In some stages this is damn near impossible.
Ghost Cleaner is a light-hearted casual puzzle game that offers a refreshing twist on the pointy-shooty brick-breaker. It offers enough variety in level design, mechanics, and physics play to give great bang for the buck.

To address the full screen issue, I play the game on a Macbook Pro running Mavericks. When I launch, it always launches in full screen. My problem is that I cannot exit the game without Command+Tab. Does it affect gameplay? Not in the least.
Love the game i really do but where is the full screen guys? There are no display options. In this day and age all games should have a full screen option.Yes even at launch. Lets get this thing updated so i can give you a better review and recommend it!! So no for now until we get that update!! "UPDATE" Yay!! The Devs have quickly fixed the fullscreen issue in just one day!! Now you can enjoy the game the way it was meant to be played!! Its a very cool physics game and i love the paranormal theme. Also has a very cool soundtrack and cool cartoon cut scenes. It was released just a little after Halloween but still puts you in the mood for the season!! I love how the game brings you along slowly with some easy levels then starts to turn on the difficulty!! I hope the devs continue to support this project because this game just screams for some future DLC'S!! If you like physics games like i do please give "GHOST CLEANER" a try and enjoy it like iam!! :)
