Funnest keyboard game I've played in a long time!! I definitely recommend it. Don't forget to check your emails!!
Cook....then serve....hope its delicious
Play time says it all! Chilly Bowl is so hard that I almost popped a blood vessel, would absolutely tell people to play it.
You play as a chef in a cyberpunk dystopia of a fallen America where you must cook delicious meals and dispense raw street justice. Would absolutely recommend.
One of my favorite games. It's worth focusing on all the Chef 4 Hire levels, and later focusing on your own restaurant. It's improved upon CSD1 in so many ways, and the writing is top notch.
If you're looking for more games that have the same rush, CSD1 is fantastic, as is Burger Shop 1&2(and a third is in current development).
CSD3 is massive, but it's quite different, and sometimes falls into playing with the same high value foods. Also, no emails and that's a huge bummer.
Kinda my comfort game. Something to play when I'm down (don't look at my hours). It's strange because it can be a pretty damn stressful game.
+Amazing art that will make you very hungry and wish food looked that good in real life.
+Demanding gameplay that can be super challenging
+Fairly good co op support, on the same pc too.
+Legitimately helped me learn to touch type
-Can get a little repetitive
-Progression isn't really too fun. Or at least it's just a little too basic
great game
This game is very difficult at times and was hard for me to get used to at first. But as you keep getting better, the game keeps getting more fun. Beating a challenge you've taken on or created for yourself in this game feels so good.
Changing the menus and upgrading/decorating your own restaurant is fun and all, but I find myself playing as a chef for hire at the other restaurants more often than not. I just love the variety of unique restaurants the game comes with and the numerous levels just waiting there to be played until perfected.
Overall, if you're a food/restaurant game lover like me, you will love this game. Sure, it can be difficult at first, as it does call for lots of typing and memorization. However, it's such a fun, challenging game. If it even remotely piques your interest, I say give it a go.
food
I honestly don't know. It's such a solid middle ground, it almost perfected the gameplay of the series, but it falls short of something truly unique. I would love to be able to talk more confidently about its merits, for example I mentioned about the order queue in the first game, while it's a bit archaic and terse, it's got flavorful notes through deliberate menu planning and order selection. In this game, it's even better, combined with the wonderful complexity of the fancy new holding stations makes it really frantic and fun to survive through service. But because the other two games are out, I just can't help but see how CSD1 was simpler yet nuanced without having to resort to a new mechanic, and how the order queue was elevated to another level in CSD3.
It's definitely got the sequel syndrome. It doesn't feel like you should focus on your own restaurant but rather it feels like you are encouraged to just go follow the campaign preset menus instead, which loses the immersive restaurant sim aspect of the first game. On the other hand, the holding station system is a very cool mechanic, but it feels tacked on and doesn't show its elegance or cohesion compared to the attention it was given in the third game.
It is ever slightly neutered compared to CSD1, but then it is also one step away from greatness compared to CSD3. It's such a good game, but it could have been so much more and truly consolidate the trilogy as the goat.
The best of the 3 imo
Great game! It will be stressful in the start as all time management games are very addicting.
This is the best one in the series. Hands down.
If you want to experience periods of intense stress followed by frustration, if you don't mind failing repeatedly for hours, painfully realising that you are too slow and cannot achieve what others evidently can (watching videos certainly doesn't help), then this game is for you. The best part is that for all this self-hurting I payed in hope of fun. Ingenious indeed! Side note: I successfully finished CSD1, but now it feels like mere tutorial.
One of the classics of all time. A master work in immersing you in the moment. If you have any interest in a frenetic cooking game that requires you to look at lots of delicious food... give it a shot!
nice
CSD 2 is supposed to be the most balanced one between CSD and CSD 3. It have more food choices than CSD, and better customizations for the restaurants than CSD3. However, it also introduce the rigid, dreadful copper-silver-gold medal systems that put so much pressures on having a perfect day. The burger level had stumped me for months. I don't know how to enjoy this game anymore.
Great couch co-op game still, but a bit tougher to couch play than CSD1.
Be warned this "casual" game can get intense at the higher levels. Remember to blink!
Also fair warning, it might make you hungrier, as the food images are more realistic as well.
Overall a decent expansion on the franchise and very fun, despite being tough on controller.
I was quite hooked on the the first game in this series and decided to try the sequel since the first one was such a fun game. To be honest, in terms of gameplay, I would say this one was a little bit lacking compared to the first one for some reason even though the mechanics behind the games were pretty much the same. Or maybe that was the reason because they didn't add much of anything new to this one and they even took out some aspects of the game that I enjoyed from the first one like the different contests. But they did expand the menu quite a bit. I didn't count but it felt like they doubled or even tripled the number of dishes you can choose for the menu. They also improved the graphics quite a lot in my opinion and dishes looked quite appetising even though they were not real. So overall I would say this is still a nice and interesting game to play.
If you like time management cooking games, you should definitely play this one

TOTAL SCORE: 7/20
>=17: you don't want to miss this masterpiece
>=14: definitely worth the price
>=6: if its on sale or free, you could consider to try it
<6: don't waste your time on it
I bought this game off a whim on sale. I had never heard of it before. While I tried and didn't like the first game, this game is insanely addicting. I love the how much content is in the game. So many restaurants, plus you're able to open and decorate your own. Customizable menu, anything really. Makes you want to try over and over to best your previous scores. The game is just very fun. 20$ for me is a bit steep, but with all the content in the game even buying it off sale is not a bad choice.
A great game if you want to smash your keyboard into a finely ground powder. Would recommend.
this game has no business being so fun.
amazing
