Описание

Bezier is a dual stick blaster set inside a vast computer built deep underground. The story traces the principal's escape from this "Noah's Ark" gone wrong. A simple shooter on the surface, the deeper narrative pulls in his relationship between evolution and god, family and love. These themes question his motives, force him to confront what is real and lead him to salvation.

Powered by the BezierSynth traditional rendering is renounced in favour of a fluid aesthetic guided by story elements, player interaction and the audio engine. An eighty minute soundtrack blends together orchestra, synthesizers and many ethnic instruments to drive the drama through fifteen zones. Almost one hundred different enemies, voice acting, reward based achievements and different game modes make Bezier the mindless blaster with a big heart.

Fun game, charming aesthetic, maybe a bit short on replayability. A bit too flashy to read the screen but you can learn it.

It's fun game for about an hour and a half, very colorful and flashy, with a nice soundtrack and an undeniable charm. But I can't recommend this one because it has a major design flaw that hinders the experience. Basically the game is TOO flashy: there are some particles you're supposed to touch, some particles you're supposed to avoid, and some particles that don't matter... and it's very difficult to tell what any of these are at a moment's glance because any particle can be any color. You WILL get hit by invisible bullets because other particles obscured them. And it's especially bad when you have green enemies shooting green bullets at you that are the same green as the health pickups. I did beat it but I don't think I'll be replaying it.

Really cool twin stick shooter. It feels like it was influenced by 70s British prog and does some really neat innovations with story and abilities that I haven't seen in other games like it.

Legit, buy this! It had been on my wishlist for some time. I'm a giant fan of Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved and in general twin stick shooters/top down shooters. This game, what an experience! From the amazing menus and layout, to the cool unique style and way the story is told - and I hate stories in games. I literally can't recommend this game enough, especially to any fan of twin sticks/top downs! The way the music builds, like Zone 9 to Zone 10, poignant music. I wish I had a time machine so I could go back and buy this game the second I saw it originally, I'm that impressed.

Let me sum up with a TL;DR. If you don't buy this, you're an idiot missing out on one hell of a wild ride. I rarely buy soundtracks, and would buy this soundtrack in a heartbeat. I can't wait to see what this developer makes next. Amazing shit!

Big beautiful neon-soaked shmup with a great soundtrack, slick presentation, and a few unexpected tricks up its sleeve. Not a lot of replayability here but I greatly enjoyed this.

This is a pretty unconventional game and it takes a level or two to acclimate one's self to the play-style of it, once you have that,it is a very good game. I'm using an XBOX One wireless controller and the controls are flawless with my setup. I would recommend this game to anyone that likes Twin Stick Shooter type games.

Great bullet hell flying game. Reminds me of well done clone of geometry wars (one of my favorite games ever).. Well worth the $.

A lesson all devs should learn: just because you can make your game sparkly and pretty doesn't mean you should. There are 3D magic eye pictures that aren't as visually busy as this, meaning it's ridiculously hard to distinguish between what can damage you and what can't, and you will be hit by things you didn't see in the glare and bloom.

Bezier is not just pretty, it's pretty boring - destroy X number of shields whilst surviving for three minutes, repeat for next level. There's a boss that'll show up and kill you in the last thirty seconds if you haven't taken out all the shields, I assume you fight it at some point but I really don't care; I've played 20-odd minutes and I'm so bored of this, I'm fed up of the game constantly reminding me to use auto-aim every other minute because lord forbid you want to control what direction you fire in yourself and would rather your weapons didn't overheat within three seconds thanks, I'm annoyed by how quickly the health/power pick ups disappear and more than anything else I'm so bloody frustrated by constantly being hit by things I can't see!

Buy Beat Hazard instead - even at full the visual flares aren't as obnoxious and you get to listen to your own tunes.

I bought it when it was on sale, but I think it's worth full price.
One of those games that surprises you with how much effort they put into it

I'm a big fan of twin-stick shooters.

There have been some great games in the past; geometry wars, waves, etc..
In my opinion this game is not just another run-of-the-mill clone, this game feels very highly polished.

Apart from Health and Special Weapon pickups you have to understand that the only other things you want to touch are the green and blue 'droplets'. Everything else, you either avoid or destroy.

Try to use your 'manual' gun as much as you can and sparingly use the 'automatic' gun when overwelmed. I also mainly only use the Special Weapon when I am going in to destroy the enemy shield installations.

If you like this genre of game, then this one is fun and I highly recommend it!

Bezier is a hard sell.

Trying to explain why it's so exceptional, one cannot help but fall into comparisons.
It's like geometry wars, it's got Sinistar flavors, it also channels Asteroids...

Bezier does draw very heavily from these classics yet is surprisingly refreshing due to its near-flawless execution.

Trying to describe the game is also selling it short. A twin-stick shooter where enemies attack you in waves!!!! Sounds incredibly generic.

It's addictive, overwhelming, difficult in a good way, really robust when it comes to production values and is just a deep=enough experience to warrant your purchase and not feel cheated. It is satisfying and worth digging deeper into simply because it is very well made.

The one point that makes me a Niine games fan forevermore is how the game was put together. The "mix" of gameplay, audio and visuals really deserves praise and I wish that every game released from now on would understand what makes a worthy product as well as Philip Bak does. He just gets it.

Auto-fire

The gameplay uses a basic twin-stick shooter configuration with an additional twist : au auto-fire button.
This button will simply shoot at the enemies closest to you,

At first, I hated this feature; I like my shooters hardcore, unforgiving and precise. After using auto-fire throughout the campaign & endurance modes, I cannot live without it. Other games seem worse now for not having auto-fire.

Instead of feeling like a feature which was added for noobz, the game shifts its design towards making auto-fire necessary and fun while not removing any difficulty for the hardcore-inclined.

Music & Sound

The music is phenomenally mixed and I've found that the variety of songs are mostly memorable though I absolutely love the more glitchy-sounding tracks. Even the most forgettable tracks do fit the action really well.

The tutorial voice and the "narrator"'s are top-notch, their tone reminding me of Pinball table announcers and arcade shooters.

--Gripes--
The only negatives I can find are minor :
- The chaining system is not really explained thoroughly.
- The Ouch system feels counterintuitive.
- Level cap at 18 can be reached in 8-10 hours.
- Endurance Mode features 1 music track. Understandable but would've liked more flexibility since the soundtrack is amazing.

--Potential--
Some ideas in Bezier are not implemented to their full potential. The ideas are present and well-executed but I can't help but feel like there's more meat in there that might be grounds for a sequel.

For example, the fact that you can reassign ship upgrades at any time is awesome yet you have to access a menu to redistribute your points. Having the ability to save configurations and switch them in real-time would add lots of extra depth to the game.

Conclusion

Get it. Now. Fill up those leaderboards!

I'm a lover of all things neon and twin-stick, but this game gets it completely wrong. The presentation is a mess with so much conflicting information and ugly noise you'll never see what hits you. Maybe it's fun once you're fully upgraded, and that is the definition of broken design. Skip it. Spend your money on some burgers. ☒

A breezy, challenging twin stick shooter that doesn't feel like other shoot em ups because not needlessly punishing to play. At no point does the game overwhelm with enemy placement, unclear boss patterns. The campaign feels less like a gauntlet the more you play, thanks to a really neat progression system that carries over to daily and Endurance modes. What makes this a clincher is that heavenly soundtrack that plays.

A delightful mashup of beloved arcade classics Robotron, Bosconian, Sinistar and Star Castle, by way of Geometry Wars. Nicely designed upgrade system adds a fun layer of strategic decision-making and increases replayability. Not as difficult as some other shmups, but challenging enough to be satisfying. As an indie project with a single named developer a la old school Activision/EA, very impressive. If you're a fan of any of the aforementioned influencing games, you won't want to miss the beautiful Frankenstein that is Bezier.

I highly recommend this for twin-stick shooter or just general arcade-style game fans. Even if you aren't such a person, you may find this game fun because of the unique aesthetic and relatively forgiving difficulty curve. I cleared the game on normal mode in about an hour (on my second try, if that gives you an idea of the difficulty of clearing it), but there's plenty more to do in climbing the leaderboards and going for a higher score, leveling up your craft, and going for all the various achievements.

I like this game for a few primary reasons - its challenging without being frustrating, has entertaining and unique visuals, and has great audio (music and sound effects and overall sound design) to go along with those visuals.

It's challenging in that you can push yourself to go for a higher score but it's not punishingly hard. Visually, there's a lot going on, but once you figure out the behavior of the enemies you're up against, you can use that to avoid damage and quickly take them out. You'll eventually get a feel for what the important projectiles are that you should look at. And you don't always need to aim at enemies - there's an autofire button which automatically shoots at targets. It's great for when there's just too much stuff on the screen and you're not sure what's harmful and what isn't.

The audio and visuals are very unique and quite polished. I was pleasantly surprised just at the variety of music. A lot of indie games or arcade-style games will make the mistake of having music that's loud and distracting and only having a small amount of it. The music certainly has a presence in this game but it's balanced in a way so as to not be distracting and there's a great variety of it. Visually, there's just a lot going on and I think the overall aesthetic is really cool.

Bezier is one of the more gorgeous shmups I've run across lately, full of pretty colors that are almost all out to wreck your odd little ship's day. the action can go from measured and precise in one moment to sheer manic panic in the next heartbeat, all to the beats of a pretty sweet soundtrack. combat provides pilot experience which, on each new pilot level, opens up an extra upgrade point that can be used to augment various ship systems or game mechanics -- and they can be completely reset at any time the player wishes, even in the middle of a level.

each level's structure is simple enough: there's a Judgement timer, and there are Shields (mini-bosses) that one must destroy before Judgement is reached -- or one's ship will expire, instead. all of this goes on while massive wads of enemies clamber in from all quarters to smash one's curvy little craft. at the end of each level, there's a brief encounter with the main antagonist, and then things move on to more difficult times.

Bezier is great fun, it's presented in a superbly stylish way, and the gameplay is well done.
I highly recommend it for any shmup lover!

WOW!! This game is just AMAZING. Sights and sounds explode...controls are smooth, WASD and Mouse 1 and 2 are all you need...for us non-controller gamers, and it's a BLAST to play! A lot of fun, and the you get the kind of rush that arcades used to give. A new favorite, for sure.

This is so much fun. I spent a bunch of time playing it today when I should have been working. This is going to be my lunch hour game for a while to come. Nice job all round. The range of alien designs reminds me of Atari's "Space Duel"; always something new and shiny to shoot and/or be surprised by.

Incredible.

Banging tunes. Visual effects are fucking nuts. Marries so many concepts, ideas and mechanics so smoothly. Wonderful variety in the enemies and abilities. My only gripe would be it's sometimes hard for me to discern what's happening underneath all the gorgeous neon effects. A so far underappreciated gem in an oversaturated "indie market."

All I can say in the end is it reminds me of all those days I spent playing away on the machines at my granda's old arcade. That alone makes this wonderful for me.

Outstanding. Here's an example of a game that both quintessentially represents, as well as broadens its genre. If you enjoy dual stick shooters, this is unmissable.
