Описание

Neptune Flux is a story-driven, open world adventure game set in a sci-fi ocean full of mystery and haunting beauty. The world above the water is a dust bowl and an escape into space is out of reach. Humanity's last hope of survival is the untouched ecosystem of the deep sea, and A.Q.U.A. is the worldwide market leader in underwater colonization. In Neptune Flux, you take on the role of Sarah, an A.Q.U.A. employee tasked with finding the source of strange energy surges that are disrupting A.Q.U.A. operations. As you carry out A.Q.U.A. missions and explore the sea floor, you’ll discover the dark secrets that lurk below.

EXPLORE THE OCEAN

In the deep sea there’s no natural sunlight, but every A.Q.U.A. dive pod comes equipped to see in the dark. Tools like flood lights and flares illuminate nearby areas, while more advanced gear like visual sonar can cut through the deep sea fog and highlight distant objects. Earn cash by recovering treasure and reporting lost wreck sites to A.Q.U.A. Invest your earnings into dive pod upgrades to increase your effectiveness as an explorer.

DISCOVER THE TRUTH

Working for A.Q.U.A. means being in the dark, literally and figuratively. Sarah has learned to stop asking questions about her missions, but when her assignments become increasingly unusual, she begins her quest to learn the truth. Discover an open ocean filled with sci-fi wonder and supernatural secrets. Experience the personal story of Sarah's struggle to survive in a world that might be beyond saving.

IMMERSE YOURSELF IN VR

Neptune Flux can be played with or without a VR headset, but if you're chasing that feeling of VR 'presence', this game is for you. Strap on a headset like the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift, grab your favorite gamepad, and get lost in a fully realized world. Look around the humble interior of Sarah's dive pod and hear her snarky comments. See the huge scale of wreck sites in stunning stereoscopic 3D. Listen to professionally mastered positional audio and hear everything - from creaking wooden ships to percolating bubbles - in remarkable clarity.

A short, futuristic, bottom of the ocean, adventure game. Well worth the sale price.

Very short simple game. Recommend purchase when it is on sale. Travel around in a sub finding "stuff" that helps solve a mystery. Nothing too difficult.
Some bits don't make a lot of sense - like the salvage exchange that you don't really need after the upgrades have been purchased.
Overall its relaxing, simple, somewhat engaging. But it is very short. You can finish it in about an hour.

You do have to use either a gamepad or KBM to play this game as motion controllers are not supported. This is basically a walking simulator where you're in an underwater submarine. You explore the areas around your base. Unfortunately, at the start your range is limited and if you don't get back to base with any charge left, then you'll have to go in for repairs and your money will be deducted.

This causes you not be able to explore fully. It is also quite dark and you can't see very well and the different sites are not marked until you locate them. So the game does start out kind of rough until you figure out where everything is and get a few upgrades. The game features light puzzles that are easy to solve .... once you figure out the order of things. Unfortunately, the puzzles seem impossible until you figure out the correct order to do the quests. This results in some frustration.

The story starts out full of mystery as you find these ancient artifacts and underwater wrecks. However, once the main conflict appears, it is fully resolved within seconds. There are some nice moments as you explore the underwater mysteries. Navigating the sub even seems like an adventure at first.

However, the map is pretty small. The real difficulty is just the darkness, plus not knowing where to go at first, and then not knowing which quest to do first. The game took me 2 hours. However, the game can be completed in about 30 minutes if you know what you're doing.

Overall, I did enjoy the experience, but it was needlessly frustrating as well. I would recommend this game only as a buy on deep sale recommendation. I spent $4 USD, but the $2 lowest price seems like a better deal for what you'll have to put up with.

        Sale Price Rating 6/10.

Wanted to like this game but is not designed well. You have to use the keyboard/mouse with VR which is "great fun" considering the VR unit means you can't see it and are likely to keep hitting the wrong keys. There's no instruction on what keys corrispond to what so you have to guess until you hit upon the right ones. I went looking for stuff for the mission they sent me on and seemed to end up in parts of the game that were unsolvable at that point in time because I hadn't been able to find what I was sent out to look for, but with no indication of what it was you were missing. It seems like its wander aimlessly around and hope for the best.

Realy great game. Short once you figure it out, but it is absolutley worth it. Some kind of dlc to add to the back story would be amazing. It took about five hours to complet, but i ran through it after watching a tutorial. Highly recomend picking it up. Very emersive.

I backed this game on kickstarter and it seemed a LOT better than this. On kickstarter it seemed like a 8/10, but this is a 6/10 just barely worth playing. I don't like how they don't have a cotroles page in settings because i was confused if i would unlock the ability to use power nodes. Also i did not like the ending either because its very controversial.

I really enjoyed the game but... I've played demos that were longer than the entire game is. I couldn't believe I really reached the end when I got to it... i thought there must be more! well, unfortunately, it appears there is not. the number of upgrades available was very limited... I had expected to unlock more upgrades by progressing through the story but that was not the case. I hope they either greatly expand on this game or make a larger sequal or something of the sort.

Neptune Flux takes place in a small part of the deep ocean. You pilot a mini-submarine. and explore a limited number of locations near your undersea base. As you explore each location, strange things occur, and you get to try to solve a mystery. You can pick up salvage along the way, to earn money which allows you to buy two submarine upgrades (better headlights and low-energy consumption sonar) and various consumables (flares, "energy nodes" to extend the reach of your sub, and speed boosts).

Overall, I did enjoy the game, and feel it was worth the price (it was on sale for $6). It was pretty much the cost of seeing a movie at the theater and took about as long.

However, the game does have some shortcomings. I played this on the HTC Vive, but I had to hook up my Playstation 3 controller to be able to play the game. I think it had a keyboard/mouse option too, but I'm not sure. The PS3 control scheme was pretty standard if you've played any FPS games. One joystick moves your sub around, while the other joystick rotates the sub's point of view. You can also move your head in real life to get a slightly different view, but since you're stuck inside a mini-sub, I just sat in a chair in real life most of the time.

In VR, the submarine itself isn't much to look at from the inside - if you look around, there's a few things to see (oxygen tank, first aid kit, stuff you'd expect to find inside a mini-sub) but you can't interact with any of them. Fortunately, the sub has a huge window in front of you, and that's where all the action happens. Through the window, you interact with the ocean world. The first part of the game has you moving your sub around to fix a water purifier (or something like that- I can't remember). Interaction with the undersea world consists of nosing your sub next to something, and then hitting the "interact" button. Disappointingly, there isn't any animation of a mechanical arm coming out of your sub to manipulate anything.

The sub controls are intuitive and very responsive, probably far better than a real mini-sub would be. Personally, I prefer the lack of real physics in the interests of better gameplay. This is my first VR game where I was able to pilot a ship. Even though the sub moves slowly, I still got motion sick after a while. I did build up a tolerance over time though, and I did have a lot of fun just piloting the sub around.

While your sub has a great big window to look out of, there really isn't a lot to see. Maybe this is how the deep ocean actually is, but there are very few fish and plants to look at. It's actually pretty desolate out there. You also initially start with rather dim headlights on your sub, which you can upgrade later, but there just isn't much to look at. I found most items by using the sonar (which highlights items of interest) rather than the headlights.

The sub's range is limited, since once you leave the "energy matrix" around your base (as evidenced by a giant, glowing, blue shell), your sub switches to battery power. I never actually ran out of power, but another reviewer mentioned that you lose some money and re-start back at home base. Later in the game you can buy and install energy nodes in a few places that extend the energy matrix and give you more cruising range, but I think I was only able to find around 5 or 6 places to install the nodes.

The voice acting is pretty good, and helps advance the storyline, which was interesting, but not great.

There are a limited number of locations of any interest to explore - maybe 6 total. And finding each location can be a bit of a challenge, since your visibility deep under water is limited. Consequently, the game is only around 2 to 3 hours long. I took my time just exploring, picking up salvage, and zooming around in the sub, and it took me around 3 hours to complete the game. As other reviewers have mentioned, the ending is a bit abrupt. It feels like the developers just ran out of money or time to finish the game. I don't think there's any replayability to this game, once the mystery is solved. There just isn't that much to look at or do.

Overall, I give this game a thumbs up, but only because it was on sale.

Bought at €5.99 and played on PC (not VR). I it took me just under 3 hours to complete, which I realise is longer than many people, but I took my time exploring the underwater setting, collecting items and upgrading as I went (this is deliberately vague to avoid spoiling anything).
Yes it could have been longer or a bit more varied but, having said that, I really enjoyed playing this game and think the designers did a great job making it.
Recommended (especially if its on discount).

Well, the to be honest, I am currently feeling a little bit betrayed.
I think, this is not a finished game.
The game game ends, when it should start, because the 2 hours of playing (sorry, that it took me so long) feel like the tutorial or intro into the real story.

Call me old fashioned, but 14,99€ is wayyy too much for such a short game.

Neptune Flux is one my favorite narrative driven titles currently available for VR. I have to say Its somewhat short, as I finished it in an hour. The length to price ratio aside (and addressed below), Its a well made exploration game with professional dialogue, great atmosphere, and perfect mechanics. If your looking for a long term investment this is not for you, but as a quick adventure for an otherwise empty week night its great.

Without spoilers, the ending is a bit sudden and I really had to think about it to make sense of what just happened. It seems like an origin story to something larger, as if another game could continue from exactly where this one leaves off. It reminds me of games like Firewatch and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. While Neptune Flux was very entertaining the first play-through, I didn't want to replay it myself as much as I wanted to throw my friends in and watch them figure it out. Its like watching someone trying to solve a simple puzzle in nearly complete darkness - actually, that is exactly what this is. This game would make for an interesting speed-run.

        Final Note:

At this point in time VR games are still pretty new and making them is not cheap at all. I can justify paying up for this game because I know that the developers needs to make something after Steam's cut in order to afford this level of content for us early adopters. The cost of VR equipment and games should drop over the years. I'm happy to support the devs and hope to see some additions to this story in the future.

An interesting concept, good graphics. Underwater dwelling is certainly a slightly different challenge. A few things could be improved, such as the minisub upgrades - one could spend money repeatedly on an upgrade already owned, as there is no equipment indicator - and subject upgrades appear to have minimal effect on the gameplay. Huge problem is, I completed the whole game in less than 90 minutes. Even Hidden objects-type games will challenge the average player longer than this one. Was it worth the money spent? Certainly not.

The game is interesting as a mystery adventure. playability takes getting used to on a PC. As the game progresses, upgrades are readily available (at in game money purchase) at the dock. I upgraded to the laser diode to help see better, and all it seemed to do was blind me. But I think I'm hooked because I want to see what happens next. So I will continue to see if it entertains or disappoints. I've been playing video games since pong. #oldmanfeedback.

Game is a bit too short (~60-90mins) - while I understood what was going on it was on the lower side of explaining stuff. Either more to explore or a stronger guidance through it would've helped a lot.
Also I felt unnecessarily restrained by the battery power. This mechanic did not really add anything interesting to the game and just prolonged it for no good reason.

However I enjoyed it for what it was, I just would've loved it more if there was more to it. Felt like it ended where it just could've started, because the potential is absolutely there for a much longer game. Underwater exploration, mystery, interesting setting, solid controls and voice acting.

Neptune Flux is a atmospheric underwater story-driven exploration game in a dystopian future. You take on the role of Sarah, an A.Q.U.A. employee trying to keep her mind off of her troubled past while tasked with finding the source of strange energy surges. As you explore the open ocean you'll discover the secrets about you're mothers disappearance. It's a short game but I really enjoyed it.

I love this game! I don't understand the negative reviews at all. For me, this was a very atmospheric game, good story and excellent execution of the concept. The dive pod feels real (and kind of cozy ;) and the controls work well. I enjoyed diving around in this mysterious ocean and I hope more content will come!

I really want to recommend this game, but as it stands, I can't. While the story is engaging, and the puzzles are fun to figure out, it took me a little over 100 minutes to finish the game. I'm not sure that's enough to qualify as a completed game, and it feels more like an intro to the world that has been created here. This is unfortunate, because I was really getting into the story, but when I reached the end, all I could say to myself was, "Is that it?" I thought that I had done something wrong instead of actually finishing the game.

Beyond that, I really liked the undersea world, although I wish it could have had more sea creatures swimming along. Currently the underwater realm is a little devoid of sea creatures. The graphics were also pretty nice, and I really enjoyed exploring the different points of interest. I just wish there was more to this game than there currently is.

If the game gets expanded with more story and more stuff to do, I'll revise this review.

This game has a lot of potential. However, as it stands right now the price is excessively disproportionate to the amount of minutes, yes... minutes, worth of fun it contains (and I bought it with a 20% discount!).

Yes, exploring underwater mysteries is immersive, especially with a VR device, but the experience doesn't last long. You might not give much credit to a review by someone who spent less than 2 hours in-game, yet this was all the time it took to finish the game, collect all achievements and repeat once more for good measure.

My recommendation: wait until the game has fleshed out a bit more (fingers crossed) and *then* buy it at the next sale.
