Good linear play, cool graphics. recommend for those who want a game to turn your mind off or a game for the lore nerds!
Feel Good
Fun, short game with an AMAZING soundtrack, but after playing Journey 2 weeks later, I felt this was a very inspired, not as polished version of Journey. If you find Valley on sale, and the gameplay looks fun to you, go for it! Otherwise, check out Journey.
gotta go fast
it's a pretty fun game. I only wish that maybe it had been a bit longer.
Short and sweet, wish it had a little more depth but fun game otherwise!
Super short but pretty cool movement game with a surprising amount of lore and story. Wasn't expecting that level of detail and it did enough to keep me hooked while I kept gaining new abilities. Doesn't overstay its welcome. Perfect one-sitting game.
.
Beautiful game with addictive gameplay loop. New mechanics are introduced every so often, which keeps the whole fresh, and speed is the main goal, which makes for a refreshing experience.
To be honest it seemed cool initially but the gameplay loop is the same which is run from point a to b while being a collectathon. Some may enjoy personally its not for me.
Really fun! Short but sweet story. Reminds me of Horizon: Zero Dawn in a lot of ways. Highly recommend if you like nature centric games.
Explore the world as a super fast runner. If you like the adrenaline from driving games then you'll probably like this one. There's some puzzles and indoors exploration.
Finished in ~5 hours.
Fun
Good fun, I really enjoyed just jumping around. Combat was pretty easy, but that's not a bad thing necessarily.
If someone's problem with genre games is that they focus on the story and mood, as well as emotions, then we have good news. Although Valley basically starts as a walking simulator (and in fact remains so for a large part of the playthrough - along with collecting descriptions and notes), it is much more than that. Running is given serious emphasis, as described, but jumping is also important, and we can often reach the next important point in the story with a few exaggerated bounces. This way, not only the experience, but also the gameplay is preserved, no one will have the feeling that they are just pressing W and sometimes clicking to open doors and drawers, which makes the path to the great catharsis empty. And that's not even mentioning the fantastic music, which is sometimes calm or even mysterious, but really revs up in the running parts, turning into very atmospheric, folk music.
If the program has been praised so much, the shortcomings must also be mentioned. The Unity graphics engine often produces fantastic views in terms of vegetation and the overall picture, but if you pay attention to the details, you can see the engine's weakness. The "shooting" and the lowering do not work perfectly either - although it must be added that if you proceed carefully and pay attention, this does not cause any major problems. Of course, this is an indie creation, so we don't expect miracles from it, and the experience was still more impressive than expected. The first playthrough can be completed in three hours.
10/6
I finished the game in 3.4 hours and I have to say I'm not really sure what they were going for. The game is littered with collectibles but the fast paced traversal made me not want to search through every nook and cranny but rather keep up the momentum and keep going. Exploration didn't feel very fun and the rewards for the collectibles are just more energy which never felt really relevant.
The giving and taking life mechanic is really interesting but they don't really do much with it. You just get energy from any of the orbs or generators and make sure the valley is healthy enough so you don't die. Combat is rarely present, deaths pretty much happen only because of falling in water.
The graphics aren't very good but the game seems to think they are. Don't really know how to explain that one.
The traversal for the most part is fun but I never got used to the floaty feeling of the jumps. I also never really figured out exactly when to jump after a sprint, It often felt like I lost momentum for no reason. You get traversal upgrades throughout the game but the linear level design holds it back. You don't really go back to a new area and unlock new areas through your upgrades,
The story was very intriguing and I was enjoying learning it through the audio logs, at the end I did get the same information about three times through audio logs, journals and loading screens but I didn't mind it that much. But then the game was over and half the questions the game raised weren't answered.
This game had a lot of cool ideas but for me it didn't stick the landing. I find the mostly positive reviews for it confusing. Maybe I missed something but I don't have an interest in picking this up again.
Go fast, jump far. What more do you need?
Valley is a game that I feel like most people haven't heard about but is actually a gem worth playing.
I enjoyed jumping around in the L. E. A. F. suit, and hookshotting to traverse the different areas. The story was actually interesting as well, and it was pretty nice visually.
The gameplay traversal was definitely the best part about this game, and going as fast as you can was actually quite thrilling.
about 2-3 hours of gameplay, enemys kinda tackish after awhile, but enjoyable game overall. i will in regards to the 80 medallions you have to collect its only for 2 upgrades that are useless even if you were attempting to speedrun the game just play the game normally, you don't have to headhunt every acorn.
short but good game
if they upgrade the Graphics and made a vr version to go with it that would be amazing
Just lost myself within the forest running and jumping, good level of immersion, the story is straight forward but very replayable and enjoyable, gives the mysterious aura of, what happened on the valley? why? without screamers and bs that personally i'm not fancy of. Go for it if you want to enjoy a journey at your own pace, relax and enjoy your time in the valley
Truly stellar storyline. Can be run through quickly or you can take your time. A combination of triggered audio logs and notes placed throughout the world build a full cast of characters and world setting. Art work was beautiful and gameplay is smooth. Some limitations on exploration but hardly an issue. Very fun to run through after story line end and work on completionist tasks.
Absolutely love this experience, such a gorgeous freeing game to play .
Though I have zero interest in the challenge dungeon, not every game needs every games feature out there, it only serves counter to the actual experience and story. Maybe all the collectable and "challenges" should have been on the stories path.
Exhilarating, really great soundtrack and environment to accompany it. The story is interesting and fluid, would love if virtual reality could do a remake of this game so the player could experience what it would feel like. The art and adventure is where this game shines the most.
Fun little game. There's a sequence that the music adapts to as you play and I still think about it years later.
If you love backtracking all the time then this is for you, if you are like the majority of people who don't want to waste their time and money then avoid this like a used car salesman. Every time you start the game you will be put back at the beginning of the map you were in, does not matter what you did or found or finished. when you load back in your back at the beginning.
If the dev's had bothered to just have the character save where they were location wise then this game would be a must have but this one bad mechanic ruins it.

This positive review highlights the unique and well-executed aspects of Valley, offering a clear picture of what players can expect and enjoy from the game.
Fantastic indie game. Simple and easy to follow, with fun mechanics that will just make you wish it was real. There's enough lore and history to keep you hooked too. You can tell this was a project that the Devs loved making. It feels handmade, unique and even has a great soundtrack. Give this game a go if you feel you need something chill, but slight mystery and exploration.
Short game but priced accordingly. Very pretty with some fun gameplay mechanics and a fun freerunning ability in a mechanical leg suit that lets you jump really high. Can be a little bit clunky but I really enjoyed it for what it is and knowing that it is a small studio production.
Amazing short game.
My only complain is the clunky swing mechanic that is the only thing that got me a game over.
Also a good tip revive as many trees as you can so you can have as many acorn. I miss the last acorn gate cause I don't have enough acorn.
There was also a bug where I fell in water and died only to revive on top of said water and die again and again and again until I got revive on a ledge.
Still highly recommended
Very enjoyable game. There is a particular feeling of freedom conveyed with the L.E.A.F. Suit and I feel like the game is a good length, not too short and not long enough to become a chore.
