Описание

Nurture a small pot of succulents that grow in real time.

Viridi is a safe haven, a place you can return to for a moment of peace and quiet whenever you need it.

Leave Viridi open in a second window to keep you company while you work, or check in on your plants as a meditative moment every night. While not fully realistic (they're very forgiving), your succulents will require some maintenance and can die from over- or under-watering. Name your favorite plants, give them special care and attention, and they might even flower for you.

Viridi is free to try and comes with your choice of plant assortments. If you think it has a place in your life, you can buy your favorite plants from the in-game nursery for just a few cents a piece. Remember to visit the nursery occasionally for the weekly free seeding!

Very sweet and peaceful. I leave it open and listen to the music once I'm done watering all of the plants (and the snails)

This is one of those games that are simply a gem in the rough, especially since it's free to play.

TLDR: Ultimate Zen mode, add it to your library right this second, you don't even know how badly you need this game.

The Graphics

Honestly, simplicity is bliss and this game definitely has simplicity in mind when it comes to graphics. The pots have cute designs, but they're definitely not over complicated, the plants are unique and all have detail. Even the little snail that happily chugs his (or her) way around your pot looks adorable! This game has a cute factor that's actually mind blowing, it's the ultimate stress reliever, even in the graphics department.

Gameplay

This is a game that's all about patience. You can't go into Viridi with a mentality such as an action or adventure game, this game requires patience because your plants will grow in real-time. Yes, real-time. You water your plants once a day (even your snail if you like, but he's pretty good on his own so I wouldn't bother the lil guy). You watch the background change in real-time, it follows your system clock so if it's night time outside, it'll be dark in the game, same with day time. Viridi has a simple mechanic for gameplay, you water your plants, you listen to the calming music, and you enter your happy place.

Story

Completely nonexistent. You make your own story out of your plants and your little snail friend, that's the bottom line.

Mod Support

As far as I know, this is also nonexistent.

Summary

So what are you getting with a game like this? Well, this is your happy place. you go to this game from time to time so you can relax from the natural stress in your daily life. The gameplay is simplistic, the visuals are beautiful and you will absolutely love this game if these things sound appealing to you. Also, there's achievements available, they take time to accomplish because of the real-time aspect of the game, but they're rewarding once you achieve them!

Do I recommend this game? Highly, especially if you're craving some stress relief. This is the ultimate test of patience, and there's a little gift every week for your patience as well. An extra seed to grow a new plant!

It's uncommon game, I recommend it. I don't know why.

I guess I just return to it to see if something had happended and then make a tweak there and a little change here. in it's own way to make it perfect.

I just don't know why I come back to this every week.

Might be Serenity and music.

There isn't much too this game but there is beauty in its simplicity. if you play in fullscreen with the music on, it can help you relax and forget all of your problems...and you may learn something about succulent plants along the way. Play once a week to get free plants to add to your pot.

Plant simulator. You grow your styled choice of pot into something you want to see.

The game grants you the ability to sing to your plants and get seeds every week.
-calming music in the background
- cute snail running free
- water sprayer
-shop

If you want to grab achievements faster, you can shop for them and grow them.

You don't have to spend too much time on this, but if you're feeling moderately unhealthy with life. Take a look at virtual nature with music. Albeit you have nature right outside your home if you're in the suburbs.

Very soothing. This single player real time plant simulator gives you the full gardening experience without having to leave the comfort of your home. With free weekly saplings, players both free and paid get to enjoy, encounter and explore different plant types and how they grow.

The soundtrack backing Viridi is another positive. The composition by Michael Bell hits the perfect balance between harmony and melody giving a continious calming effect.

Overall I would definitely recommend this game to every steam user. It is so easy to get caught up playing a single game for hours on end but to be able to load up Viridi at the end of my day and water and see my plants grow before bed just gives me a level of enjoyment that no other game has been able to provide me.

10/10

Viridi Is a very simplistic game, a relaxing game that keeps you occupied without giving you a rushed feel. Although there will be in-game purchases you do get a lot out of the free experience.

Quick Summary

You create a plant pot, each one has its own design and the ability to name it. Every pot comes with its own snail which you can sing to and water just like the plants (I don't really know why you'd water a snail unless snails can get dried up, which I guess they could? You wouldn't want a crusty snail.) Once a week you get one free seedling. These free seedlings are 100% random and give that little feeling of excitement every time you open one.

In game purchases

Like most free games, In-Game purchases are a large part in the overall game. Besides the once weekly seedling the only way to get new plants would be to purchase them with (I assume this goes this goes w/o saying) real money. This has not bothered me too much as you can still get the relaxing part of the game down, although it can get rather bothersome to know every individual plant would come out of your paycheck. If you reall get into the game, I'm sure you wouldn't regret purchasing some plants or new areas.

The waiting game

One thing that really keeps you on your toes is the wait for your seedlings to up and have ther little spurts of growth. The growth of your succulent brings out the ultimate reward in Viridi. Although patience is key, it does not come w/o its hardships and rewards, which I think Viridi expresses perfectly.

Would I recommend Viridi

I'm personally very attached to succulents and have friends who do enjoy plants just as much as I, and because of that I would recommend this game. Viridi is a good game, one that I'd love to see others enjoy and although this game is not without its flaws I liked Viridi and I'm sure many others do aswell.

Kind of a cool idea. But no offense, you might as well grow real plants-- many are just as easily taken care of as these.

Sometimes I would check on my plants in Viridi once a day and water the thirsty ones. Sometimes I would skip 4 or 5 days. It didn't seem to make a difference in their health. I'm guessing if you waited like a week some of the plants would really die? Can't answer that because I did not give it that long. I like the music. I like the playback feature-- you can re-watch your plants grow from when you last had the game open. Graphics are okay: the plant's colors become vibrant when you water them and they show some signs of withering when dry, although the game's backgrounds are quite plain. You can purchase other backgrounds (with real money) to better accommodate your tastes. Viridi gives you some free plants but you can also buy more. It also gives you a few pots to pick from but if you want more you'll have to buy them with real cash. Overall, this is a pretty bare-bones game even if you did buy a few of the extras. It's meant to be a chill game, I get that. But it's so chill that it really has no point. In real life simply throw on some cool Spotify tunes, take an interesting plant from outside, bring it inside, put it in a pot, and enjoy the free oxygen and style it adds to your room... ta-da, real-life Viridi with real life bonus benefits.

Beautiful and relaxing game, soothing and atmospheric soundtrack. Learn about the different varieties of succulents as you play. Art style is simple and refined. Who knows... it might even encourage/inspire you to take up gardening yourself, so you can experience the joy and satisfaction of growing and looking after your own plants.

Gives me a sense of control. I could let these plants die if I wanted, their life is in my hands. It's not the other way around. I am in control.

Only place with more weeds is my Animal Crossing town.

So, if you're expecting your new favorite game to play on a daily bases this isn't it, but if you want something to check on ever week or so for like 5-8 minutes then you'll enjoy this.

While i wouldnt say that this game has incredible graphics, i see their limitations being that its made with unity, but its still a nice relaxing and beautiful game, if your ever feeling down and depressed, just come to this game, and calmly relax to the beautiful music, and its really nice to watch the playback of your plants growing. This is a good game to play if you just wanna relax and realize to enjoy life for what it is.

Well, I'm redoing this review after about three years. My opinion hasn't changed much, though!

Viridi is simply a game about.. plants. You plant them, water them whenever they need it, you can sing to them, and you can look at them. There's even an option to name them! Every week you can get a random new plant for free! It's not so much a game as it is just having some virtual plants. They can die and grow and flower like real ones; they're just on a screen. So hey, if you want to take care of some plants but for whatever reason can't have real ones, Viridi is probably for you!

The soundtrack is very soothing, and I love to listen to it whenever I'm reading or writing something. Makes for very good background noise if you don't want silence, and it's not distracting either. Letting the game sit open to let me sing to the plants with the music playing quietly in the background is a pleasant experience, to say the least.

Overall, I would very much recommend Viridi! If you're looking for a game that gives you something to do, then maybe you wouldn't enjoy it - once again, it's mostly just virtual plants and you can't do much other than stare at them - but the graphics paired with the soundtrack makes for a nice few minutes whenever I check on my pot of plants every morning.

Oh also, you have a snail! I named mine Mint. I accidentally chucked her into the garden once. Sorry, Mint.

Extremely relaxing, would recommend to those who need a break accompanied with calming music and beautiful graphics. They have included a wide range of flower types and a lovely time lapse for when you haven't been able to regularly check up on your garden. Overall, 9/10.

A relaxing plant growing simulator after playing multi-player games with try-hards, remember to water your snail, a wet snail is a happy snail.

I don't know how or why I have over 300 hours in this ..game? Can I even call it that?

TL;DR I have no life and I suck at growing plants in real life. So, this is a great game for those with the ability to kill everything they touch, but wants to be able to create some form of life.

It is just so relaxing. The music is great the graphics are beautiful and I just couldn't leave this alone. However, I suppose half the reason why I have so many hours might be because I simply forget to close it.. It doesn't take a lot of RAM and it is such a small game; so, it is so easy to just leave it and forget. But the times when I do remember I have it up, it's just such a delight. Highly recomend this game to those who like EXTREMELY CASUAL GAMES. In fact, this is a "no play" game at all. I feel like you just have to check if the plants are thirsty or not. Other than that it is fun to see them grow over a time lapse after forgetting to open it after a few days..

Not a game for those who want something more than taking care of a plant.

MICROTRANSACTIONS. This is a pretty crap game to begin with, but the complete lack of transparency about the fact that it has in-app purchases really soured me towards it. The game was free on Steam, so I bought the sountrack edition thinking "Oh no, a studio giving away their game for free because they're new and need the exposure? Not on my watch!!" Jesus dick was I foolish. I load up the game, which has a terrible, labelless UI with no details on what any actions do, then come to see a cash shop where you're supposed to spend $5 on new pots for your store-bought succulents.

When people talk about there not being any quality control on Steam, this is the kind of game they are thinking of. Just look into the other games by this studio, it's a mess. Don't download, don't buy, is my recommendation.
