Regular price: $0.99
Price I would pay: $0.99
Final thought: Lacks the 'Tycoon' feeling and very little substance to the game. It reminds me of the types games we played on our one computer in my elementary school 'computer lab.' Definitely not The Oregon Trail quality of school games.
about as mindless as things get. You buy food and choose locations and watch the dollars roll in. Not much more than this. When you level up you can choose how to spend your accumulated money.
would recommend, for $0.99 its an absolute STEAL. Gameplay is riveting, graphics are exemplary. There's only one more thing to say, you can NEVER have enough cream when entering the Hot Coco contest.
I like to think of myself as a reasonable man. Quick with a joke, slow to anger. I'm someone who grew up playing all the classic "tycoon" games. That's my crack. So when I saw this I had to buy and now, I wish I didn't. I should've saved that .99 cents and bought some gum or something.
Well, it's hard to judge this one.
This game feels like a Facebook game. You have a few set locations you can travel to by your map. Then the only thing you can do is to sell stuff. It's the main purpose of the game and the worst aspect of the game. You own that little shitty lunch truck that you can upgrade to a luxury truck. Now at the beginning your storage is pretty small. Imagine a table with 3 columns, each column stands for a different type of item. In the beginning you own 1 item of each column and you can storage 36 pieces of each item. Each new truck increases the storage. Then you have to refill your stuff.
Since the first lunch truck upgrade alone costs you 10,000 Dollarinos and you just start off with 600 bucks, getting 1$ for each sold item (more if you set a higher price), it would take AGES to gain finally 10,000 bucks. Because on each "day" you make between 5-35$ profit. The developer(s) thought it would be a good idea to put some challenges in the game, for expample you have to sell 10 ice teas in 3 "days" to get 1,000$. With these challenges it becomes rather easy to get enough cash to get a new truck.
During the lategame you have to chose which items you offer, since each colums contains like 15-20 items. This sounds a bit weird and I guess this isn't what you would expect from a Tycoon-game. The gameplay itself is very repetetive and becomes boring very fast. I bought it for only 0.99 $, so you could give it a try for yourself and be the judge. It might amuse you for a couple of hours, but it's too simplistic to be a good tycoon game.
It's 99 cents. It's worth that. Fun diversion, not brilliantly designed, and the music will haunt my dreams but like I said... fun diversion. Kills a few hours.
If you have ever dreamed of being in a hot metal box cooking over a stove to serve food to impatient people....this game will touch and fill your soul.
If you enjoy cute little tycoon games, this one isnt the best but isnt bad either. I recommend you try it, watch your time, if you dont go over the two hour mark and its not right for you. Use the return system.
This game is definitely worth the $.79 that I payed for it. It is not a particularly in depth game, but you get what you pay for. There are many foods, trucks, locations and contests that you have to deal with and a level system that allows you to unlock helpers, more space etc.. I will admit that the game gets pretty repetitive, but it gave me more than 10 hours of fun and held my interest throughout. I would recommend this game to anyone.
Lunch Truck Tycoon:
A little big game that gets lots of hate because inexperienced people with less than 2 hours need to make a negative review to make themselves feel better.
As an experienced player (13 hrs on record atm) i can say that this game's good. it's simple, well controlable, even though it seems that the gameplay is just made out of waiting, that's not true and there's more to it.
The gameplay consists of:
-Pricing
-Being in the right place at the right time
-Waiting
-Upgrading
-Competing
-Events such as Cook-Offs
-Moneymaking
---------------------------------------------
In case you need help, i made a Beginner's Guide
I spent a lot of time playing this game and i'm still really happy when i'm getting back to playing it again.
Simple, but great. 10/10
ok, got this on sale for 0.99, and for that, I cant say its not worth it, It is.. But thats as far as the value goes. Its really really boring. There is no real progress, just load up your car, buy a new, sell x amount and get bonus, enter random cooking contests., and upgrade your car. Sounds fun right? Well, its sounds way better then it is. Contest is very easy and over very fast. So mosly its press play..wait..fill up car...Press play..wait..Fill up car..Press play...You get the jest.
Age group: 2-8 years old, and then I think its a home run. As most clicking android games.
If you are looking for a fun tycoon and over age 8, look elswhere.
Lunch Truck Tycoon takes place on a dystopian, late-capitalist island known as Lunch Island; a horrible place where the same 20 second song is played over loudspeakers on loop at all locations. The days pass by in a rushed blur, yet it is always lunch time on Lunch Island. Strictly segregated by socioeconomic class, the island population is comprised of hunderds of silent and exhausted clones stemming from the same 5 or 6 white people and one brown man in a gray suit, creating an uncomfortable and unsettling atmosphere as you see the same person walk past your truck dozens of times per day. Scared of clowns? Get used to it, 20% of the island's economy seems to be from the clowning industry. The insane dictator they call "Mayor" will randomly threaten to ban products from lunch island for no reason, such as soda, though he seems to have a short attention span and never follows through on his threats, whether you successfully rally the island in protest by selling 10 soda's in 3 days or not.
You COULD pay less than a dollar for Lunch Truck Tycoon, further funding Mayor's regime of white supremacy and capitalist tyranny, or you could play something with just as much, if not more, depth for free on any flash game site.
Well worth the 0.99 I paid for it. Addicting and fun, not to easy not to hard. The graphics leave alot to be wanted but honestly for a dollar, I am happy I got a couple days of playing out of it honestly. Also I made a game guide on my website to help you get a jump start :)

This game is not too bad. I really love tycoon and simulation games. The 1 song that play's gets a little repetitive but the gameplay itself is actually quite good. Good game for a dollar.
What can I say about Lunch Truck Tycoon? Well, I guess for one thing, it can be pretty entertaining. My favorite part sometimes is when you get a text about an event, such as a huge dinosaur booger at the museum in the city, or a Justin Bieber concert... like really? I got a good laugh anyway. Some of the cook off's can be pretty challenging especially when you don't always get the feedback you need from the customers, but I suppose you need to be challenged sometimes. Other than that though the gameplay is pretty straight forward. Sell food, keep your truck stocked, buy upgrades, travel to events, buy a better truck, etc. It's a game I think I will get plenty of use out of when I'm between loads of laundry or just looking to kill time.
For 99 cents, this is a great casual game to kill some time with. If you're into tycoon / management games, this one is a pretty decent bang for your buck. It's not anything spectacular, but I've played worse.
Pros:
-Easy to learn
-Difficulty follows your level perfectly
-Graphics are good for an indie game that costs 99 cents
Cons:
-That damn song! It's one song that repeats on a loop over and over and over and over...
-Some items you can buy don't seem to have much of an effect (such as the banner)
This is one of those Tycoon games where you lose interest very quick. In some related tycoon games, you're purchasing ingredients and are trying to get it right so that you can sell better stuff and make more money. For this one, all you are doing is just restocking and selling it; so there is no creativity involved. There are events where you can try to be creative, but even then it isn't fun and it's all guesses. Also, the upgrades are hard to obtain. Not all the upgrades are available, you need to level up in order to unlock them. The food trucks upgrades are all available, but they are very expensive. In this game, it takes forever to get enough money to get a better truck. Getting a better truck doesn't even do anything; all it does is make more room to put food in your truck. The days are short, so you don't make a lot of money. I literally had to way months until I had enough money to upgrade once. There are events so that you can get extra money and it is a huge help, but you are still a bit away from coming close to buying a new truck. I only play about 2 hrs. worth of the game and I think I'm already done. This should have been an online flash game.
This game reminds me of a lemonade tycoon flash game I used to play. It seems simple but there are a lot of upgrades and areas to go to sell at. There doesn't seem to be much strategy or depth though.
The competitions are an interesting feature, however they are frustrating. How you do is determined by what numbers you put into three different ingredients. The only feedback you get on how close you are to perfect is from peoples comments as they walk by. However I've sat for 30 seconds without a single comment in a 90 second competition. I've also gone entire competitions without a single comment on one of the ingredients, and only one comment on the other. That makes it impossible to do well.
If you like simple tycoon games you will probably like this. If not pass on it. I'll probably give it another whirl, but I'm not super enthused on it.
This game is about selling the most X and creating the best recipe for Y, but before you do that, you must discover what works best in each location, either by just trying or waiting for a cellphone message (which you can upgrade at some point in the game). Discovering how everything is calculated seems to be part of this game, otherwise most things just feel random (but they are not).
It could use more variation and some more tooltips for beginners to avoid frustration (nothing tells you you can't buy upgrades until you unlock them).
All in all it's worth the money.
Worth $0.99 The gameplay is simple, but I like the concept, art style, and music. It's inspired by Lemonade Tycoon. Game works fine for me on Windows 8.1. A nice little diversion.
I've been an avid video-gamer for more than thirty-years, both on PC and console, and I'm a very harsh critic.
I don't generally waste my time writing reviews for games that are mediocre or just "OK". My reviews will either be very positive or very negative.
However, in the case of Lunch Truck Tycoon things are a little different. Although I anticipated I would need more time to write a fair review, I only required 30 minutes of gameplay, as shown on my record.
The game is only $0.99 USD. Sometimes we get what we pay for, but in this case, Lunch Truck Tycoon offers just a little more than $0.99 of entertainment.
I've would've gladly paid $20.00 for this game if there had been more strategy and customization options.
I hope that the developer has plans to expand on this game. I would definitely like to see some improvements via purchasable "add-on's" that increase the need for more strategy, and add more customization. Lunch Truck Tycoon should've been an "Early Access" game.
Will we see a Lunch Truck Tycoon 2 in the future? I hope so!
The development of "Food Truck" themed games has been neglected and is, in my opinion, an untapped oil well that would seriously appeal to the people who enjoy playing "simulation, management, strategy" games.
The game's artwork/graphics are of moderate quality. The animation and gameplay are smooth and moderately clean.
In closing, if you can afford $0.99 USD, buy the game and support an indie developer! In return, you'll receive a little more entertainment than what you paid for, and you can't have a legitimate complaint about that.
