Educational point and click game about the Vikings. The most developed game in the series. Gameplay is not that bad but the game itself is buggy at times, especially when loading save-files. This is annoying to the point of not being recommended, even considering the low price.
Part 3 in the series.
Quickly about the series in general; feels like a child's history game, easy to learn mechanics and no difficult game-play.
Sometimes a bit buggy, but overall good games for their price.
Part 3; Vikings, is still the same feel and style, but it is bigger and more open world (within a small area). So less loading time, more walking around and exploring. No more fixed camera, but 360 view.
There is a "fighting" element that comes with the vikings, but you don't have to win to keep the story going, other then the last battle. It keeps it child friendly.
If you want all the achievements, you must win the fights yes.
Where it is possible in Plaque & Slavery (part 1 & 2) to do everything in 1 playthrough, although it is advisable to play it once for the story and a second time for the achievements. Viking requires a second playthrough for all the achievements no matter what.
Which is "great" because earning the 3 trading cards is not something you can get in 1 playthrough sadly enough. So no other choice then either buying packs/cards or running the game on the background. A shame if that is something you care about and something to keep take into account.
You also can't run it in the background, all three games seem to crash the moment you tab out or go to your other screen. (although with Part 3 Vikings it seems to be more stable and to handle it sometimes. Progress).
Gameplay tip; try to collect every axe you see, it makes the fights a bit more easy.
And enjoy a Viking lifestyle ;)
"Playing History: Vikings" is an educational game that takes players back to the Viking Age. In this game, you step into the shoes of a young Viking and experience life during this fascinating period. The game combines historical facts with engaging gameplay, making it both informative and entertaining. Players can explore Viking culture, participate in battles, and complete various quests. It's a great way to learn about history while having fun!
This game is one of three historical quests from Serious Games Interactive that make up the trilogy. In it, we are offered to take on the role of Vikings, a young boy, and then a mature warrior. The game is divided into five chapters, each of which has its own task.
There are no puzzles in the game, it has moved to 3D, in which the tasks are more limited to finding objects. You communicate with the character and fulfill his request. Some tasks require stealth, and some require participation in turn—based battles with a random outcome.
The game looks like a 2008 quest, but it is inexpensive and goes through quite quickly, although it is not entirely clear why you need coins that need to be found at each level, but which are not used in the game in any way, but go only to achieve.
Educational and developmental game for the younger generation. History teaches us not to make the mistakes of the past and to be attentive in the future!
