I literally bought and played this game via steam before. Why now suddenly I don't have ownership? Of course Ubisoft support is busy and it will take a while before they answer me. Why is ubisoft always fucking up with this launcher/activation shit?! It's so fucking frustrating.

Overall a very fun, enjoyable game. Great world building, good mechanics, solid story-line and replayable.

the story made no sense, the gameplay was very uni direction even for an open world, not much to do or interact. so far not my fav A.C game. Though i did like the World War 1 storyline in it a little.

Compared to any other Assasin's Creed game i would consider this one one of the worst. Story is almost non-existant and the plot starts and continues for the first few missions as: "We are good, London currently bad but our father is kinda secret in everything" I think that story might be better however game itself makes it almost impossible to continue playing. Game is buggy, often stopping player, dealing random damage, flipping carts with horses. Enemies are half random and game itself is a joke to Assaissins Creed. In my opinion worst AC game (Havent played Odyssey, Valhalla and Mirage)

Recommended, I guess ... but this is a heavily qualified "yes".

The AC series could be really ground-breakingly good if it would just stop tripping over its own feet. Every game takes such care to build a world in meticulous detail and then dump a shit-tonne of QTE gameplay over the top of it like they have forgotten what the whole point of games is. They're like an Asimov novel which contains nuggets of gold in brilliant ideas swimming in rivers of shi- (the actual writing). It's painful.

Sadly, I find myself drawn in by the environment of a beautifully recreated 1860s London beset by some awful Quick-Time-Event gameplay. Not that all of it is rotten, by any stretch of the imagination. Creeping about on rooftops picking off Blighters one by one like a violent, knife-wielding 19th century bat-man is deeply appealing. Figuring out the optimal way of stealing someone's cargo, or assassinating your target, can be quite entertaining.

But there is just too many of "that one mission" that stops you cold in your tracks and you're like, "What the actual **** was that?" Chase the cargo from the rooftops using a slow-ass bat-rope thing only to recognise that there is no way of keeping pace with the cart because bat-roping is too slow unless you perfect a precise sequence of rooftops to use; meticulously and silently killing a bad-guy's henchmen in a park with no rooftop to hide on, only to have him flee to some magical waiting super-speed cart which you cannot keep pace with because the game has decided that you've failed the mission; successfully capturing a guy only to have enemy carriages cause sufficient chaos that he disappears altogether in what I can only assume was a too badly damaged cart ...

These are not HARD levels, they're just badly designed, relying on a specific sequence of micro-actions on your part, never explained, to determine success, and if you do not follow that sequence you fail. In other words, it's "press K now" followed by "Oops, too slow, he escapes". Actually, it's funny, I remember ye olde games used to all be like that, but once we got past sprite-based gaming and entered 3D gaming, we left all that behind. Not Activision, though.

Not to mention that SO MANY ACTIONS you perform in this game are not fluid, they're pre-cast video sequences that will not surrender control back to you until well after they're done. Or controlling the camera perspective -- what the heck is with me staring at the ground when someone up there is shooting at me.

Seriously, get out of your own way, here, game!

The combat is simple button-mashing and not sophisticated. Not that I am a fan of "Press this nineteen-key sequence!"-style combat, so it's fine by me, but I can imagine some of you purists are appalled. You're better to avoid it, and the game does generally encourage that. It's just not always possible.

It's not THIS game alone, I find this is just how the AC series is built. I want desperately to play Origins, but I am wary of this sort of garbage, I'm wondering whether it is worth the misery of having to overcome poorly designed missions.

So, it's a game with some brilliant world building, squelchy combat, and some QTE reliant mission design. It wavers between being a good game and a frustratingly "meh" one.

Might not be my favourite assassins creed game yet it still depicts london amazingly, the gameplay is fun and the story itself is good. 7/10

Not a bad game. People keep saying Syndicate is the worst but this is a decent and good Assasin's Creed game.
I love it when you can switch between Evie and Jacob. They have different approach depend on how you wanna utilize it such as stealth or brute force. I ignore some of hijack quest because I'm not really interested. The combat seem okay, parkour is like Unity but you can grapple hook. Since I play Arkham game, I really used to grapple hook to gain advantage. Final boss, I expect some more from Starrick. Kinda a bit easy to fight him.
If you have this game, getting a Jack the Ripper DLC is a must. This is a super great DLC. Like an entire game. Almost feel like Sherlock Holmes when come to investigate clue from Jack the Ripper. But this DLC is 20 years apart from main game, and Evie look a bit old and different. That okay, but Jacob doesn't really change. Maybe a hot climate in India make Evie a bit different when Jacob doesn't change a bit.
So that it. I give Syndicate a 8.5/10.

let ukranians download the english version, please. it`s simply absurd that we can play only in russian. refunded.

This is just to easy and also boring, nothing like other assasins creed games, also too many cinematics, like it takes forever to actually play the game.

Idk why I didn't play this when it first came out but glad I picked it up on a sale. Not my favorite of the franchise but still a really fun game

Hello i have one peoblem with this game becuse i can play it. After it showing me ubisoft logo it is staying total black and i cant do anything anymore …

The game is chase me out of my mind. I like what the game has. The open world Victorian London is an excellent play area and even the cheesy Assassin's creed story is okay. But I hate the control and the combat and that your character move like a truck if you know and like the series you probably okay with this, I can't get over it, its just makes me mad every time. Also I hate Ubisoft connect. If you like the series this one will be a good pick I just think I don't like the Ubisoft 3rd person action games.

Game was fun like 90% of the time, but by god it has possibly the shittiest ending out of any Assassin's Creed game or any game for that matter. Also leveling up Ned's loyalty sucked which was a shame because her missions were actually very fun... the first dozen or so, everything after that just hurt.

Having played all main storyline AC games, I always wondered how they would make an assassin in modern times with a city level scape and high rise structures obstructing gameplay, BUT this game squashed all my doubts and did a wonderful job in its game

Maharaja DLC was a bit disappointing, else a solid 10/10

This game is pretty amazing, love the VA done for the characters as they were really into it plus Jack the Ripper DLC was really well made. Shame that Ubisoft has stopped making titles like this. My only complaint is regarding limited graphics option and also kinda wished Jack the Ripper DLC had a bit more hours of gameplay as I really loved the dark sinister theme London was portrayed. Also the Dreadful Crimes DLC was amazing although it sucks that it's not part of the season pass, but I would recommend to get it on sale as the ending for the dlc is also top notch. I highly recommend this game if you're someone who likes stealth genre and also want to play a game setting based on Victorian era London.

... An amazing game, to anyone who's played assassins creed games or not this is the game for you. It balances the story and free world and it has an AMAZING deep story. The end of the game makes me shed a tear every time. if you've played this game play it over again, if your finished with the game there's MORE missions and activity's and gear to unlock. I genuinly think this is one of the best games created (in the top 10) so if you're reading this and don't have the game... Ignore the price tag an install it is not a dissapointment. Who knew 30GB could hold such an amazing expereince. 10/10 must have game.

A ubisoft original? Yea right, theres not one cat being pumped in this game for it to be ubisoft that created it although nice try creating england but you forgot one major detail. England doesnt have men in it, all english boys do when they hit puberty is grow boobs and long hair and have squeeky voices. They are all estrogen filled ladies with no balls. 37 Hours just to repeat the same mission because npc didn,t move, npc missing, npc onn the roof, killing npc is not ok while crushing them with a carriage is ok... Love this game

L fcking game, the game cant be played. It stuck at launcher/Assasins Syndicate Logo at startup then the game got force closed. The solution that admin and YT post wont solve the problem. L Ubisoft

The game is very decent and with a lot of bugs and glitch , player have to grind a lot parkour is kinda good story is also not upto the mark 6/10

Performance is very solid, very underrated, good graphics for a almost 9 year old game!
But.... If you're hungry here's a recipe a Rocky Road Bar :)
Lightly butter a 9 by 13-inch baking pan.
Make the batter as per cookie recipe and fold in 1 cup chopped walnuts along with the chocolate chips. Spread batter in prepared pan.
Bake until the edges are light brown and the batter sets,
about 45 minutes.
Cool slightly and cover surface with 4 cups marshmallows and 1 cup chocolate chips.
Broil at least 8 inches from the heat until marshmallows turn golden brown, about 2 minutes. (Keep an eye on the marshmallows, and turn the pan frequently--they go from golden to char in a wink.) Cool, cut and serve.

Amazing characters, story, and map. With the Jack the Ripper DLC, you really get a taste for the darker side of slightly fantasy London.

Thoroughly enjoyable AC game in my opinion - solid main story if a little quick, but made up for with interesting side quests and events, my favourite being the ghost hunting with Charles Dickens.
The Jack the Ripper DLC was "okay" I guess, solid fight at the end but wasn't really a fan of the story.
Only downside for me were the random unpredictable crashes but the game auto saves pretty often, especially if you do the collectables as you go so it was manageable.

The premium London experience (although for a more modern representation you could have added more worn out buildings, sh*tpiles and roadmen). Also, come back and make a Birmingham DLC.

If you ever wondered about Charles Dickens a Christmas Carol (1843) which is this spooky horror redemption story celebrated around Christmas, you are in that world, it's London in the Victorian Era Industrial Age, but you are in this secret society trying to do some public good, with a bunch of Batman gadgets, literally, you have a grappling hook, you disappear in smoke, you fight hand to hand. The rare-obscure- failed handgun, called the ''1894 Bergmann'', is in the game, and can be used by the main character which is fun. Most of you know it as the gun that inspired the Mandalorian blaster in the Mandalorian streaming series. You can also get a Billy the Kid Thunderer/Lighting 6-shooter. The horse drawn carriage is shockingly very Grand Theft Auto and strange, you can for some reason crash into stuff, which throws you off a bit. I wish they had allowed the main characters to have a horse. But I love the breathtaking views. When the sun comes in, and the suns rays are incredible, when the sunsets, everything looks magical. It starts raining, that's beautiful. The buildings are incredible, I wish I could live in that world. You want to frame every moment. Every now and then you come across like a band playing at a gazebo, little details like that are marvelous. It's illustrated and designed really well.

This game is great even after a decade I would definitely recommend on playing ac syndicate

Hey Ubisoft, if you add Steam achievements for all your old games, I will buy every single one of them again.

Buggy as fuck, got stuck after trying to restart a mission, OTOH, there are so much bugs in this game, I found like 10 bugs when playing this game, before you want to buy, if you think you can ignore the bugs, then buy it

Honestly, I love this game. For context, I am pretty new to the AC series of games and have only played AC: Unity before this, but this feels like such a level-up in terms of graphics, fun game designs, etc.

I really enjoyed the gang simulation elements in Syndicate - everything from raiding boats on the Thames for contraband to the surprisingly well organized fights for territory in the gang battles. It was great fun taking over Victorian London one piece at a time!
The story wasn't bad but the gang activities are what really kept me coming back and then it ended up becoming a "let's just finish this damn thing" situation at the end. That was a bit of a shame to be honest, which means that for me the game felt a little drawn out.
Although I did pay for the Season Pass I chose not to do the "Jack the Ripper" DLC because I had already finished the Darkest Hour (Churchill in WWI) and the Last Maharajah DLC. Both added content and missions that were different to the main game and so worth playing, but as I said, added to that feeling of everything being drawn out a little too much. You could probably play the main game without the DLC missions and it would have a much shorter play time and feel less laboured.
I would still suggest getting the Victorian Legends and Steampunk cosmetic and weapons packs if you buy any DLC for this game. Both are inexpensive and give you a great outfit for Evie and Jacob, as well as good weapons you can make use of for a fair part of the game. The outfits and weapons are well-balanced for level 7 and are great aesthetically as well!

Very good game, with great ambientation. Needs a bit of work to get it going with Proton, but it works. Played the entire game con linux mint.

This is the most underrated AC game by far. It does not reach the highest highs of Unity, but more importantly it doesnt reach the same lows. This game has a stealth system that actually works, compelling side quests with historical characters, and it runs and plays pretty well while still looking great. Something sadly Unity lacks.

The missions are structured 50/50 with the 2 assassin twins, and this was fine for most of the game, until the endgame, where they force you into playing Jacob most of the time. Evie is focused on the plot and should be the leader, but somehow they made the other protagonist who couldnt care less about anything the leading role. Jacob even ruins a lot of stuff in the story that his sister Evie has to clean up, what an awful character. We do get to see a 20 year old jump in the one of the DLCs where Jacob seems way more compelling, but he only has a few lines, a lot of wasted potential sadly. Evie on the other hand is lovely.

All in all, Its not as deep or as focused on the Creed as Unity, but its playable and has fun & fleshed out systems that make the game addicting to play. With 2 great DLCs aswell this is a great experience. A few adjustements to the grappling hook and a more difficult combat would be great, but its very fun nonetheless, would recommend on a sale.

(If you have an ultrawidescreen with high resolution you need to go through a lot of sht to get it working correctly, so I can tell you what helped me,- Every time I launched the game, change from borderless to windowed, then back to borderless, I then had to run the SyndicateUW software and activate it for all cutscenes to render in Ultrawide. Would recommend researching for some edits in the .ini files to make it run better)

Piece of garbage. After getting to 60% completion, the game starts getting graphic distortions, like double vision and keeps crashing. Can't open the inventory without crashing, can't do a damn thing to fix it - I've been combing forums enough to be sick of it.

One more reason why ubisoft needs to be retired into an alley

Micro transactions in a single player game for money/progression, along with an absurdly aggressive anti mod mechanism. I can't recommend.

"Purchases made in this region will only receive the Russian language." - Why the hell you have decided that "in this region" which means Ukraine, I need this language? Why the hell I can't get English instead? This localization is awful, the voices, the incorrect translations and still the half of NPCs in game are not translated. This is shit and you are not given me even a chance to choose with what language I can play. Fvck you, Ubisoft.

I loved the gameplay style and the story. It's very similar to Assassin's Creed: Unity, one of my favorite games. What I don't like about this game is the customization options, like outfits. All outfits look almost similar other than the legendary outfits.

After downloading these games from steam, I keep getting errors. Also the authentication makes one feel that you don't really have the game. If they decide not to have the servers to support the game, it will be unplayable. I don't like games that make one feel they don't really own the game. The characters of the game are great. They keep the woke to a minimum which is a good thing. Eevie Frye is my favorite AC character. If they keep the woke to a minimum or no woke at all and don't have the authentication errors, I would purchase more AC games.

Mid game but I am still a the start. The grappling hook is kinda cheating tho you can get out of any situation now.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate was the last game left for me to play in the franchise and I found it to be awesome. The recreation of London is incredible, offering a rich and detailed city to explore. The story is decent, and the missions are fantastic, well constructed and enjoyable to play.

Only con for me was the parkour system. They tried to innovate, but I felt it didn’t work out well. It was clunky and frustrating at times. Despite this, I believe the game gets more hate than it deserves. Personally, I enjoyed Syndicate and would recommend it to any Assassin’s Creed fan.

Story and platforming is good. Better than average assassins creed game with more than interesting characters.

its...okay. fun. but mediocre. one of the most mediocres ACs ever produced. meaning its not good, neither bad. worth a few hours for a few bucks. something like a 5.5 out of 10 seems fair.

mains characters are bland and stupid. main story is one of the weakest done till this point on AC development history, completely forgetable and unengaging.

the side characters, though, are quite well fleshed out and interesting, with some of them completely taking the main spot from major characters.

main missions are spoty. some are good, some are bad, but mostly they are fragmented, as if there were pieces missing between missions. side missions, on the opposite, are quite well done, coeherent and, frankly, just all around better than the main story.

the gameplay is very good and engaging, with its carriages and grapple mechanics and eletric bombs. quite satisfying to fry some stupid enemies that remain in groups clumped together. and the combos combination can also be satisfying to pull out.

the setting is very well characterised, you can feel old London by playing it. both its high and low societies are quite well represented in the game, imho, and the several historic references (as it is with every AC) only make it better.

oh, something to add, the game is still full of minor bugs. I didnt encounter any game breaking bug, or anything that could impede me to continue playing, but some of it were quite annoying. The one that stands out more to me always happened in "abduct" missions, where the npc simply refuse to move and all I could do was to kill it. it didnt happened always, but more times than I would like.

one last thing, obviously the online stuff are all gone, but I think thats for the better in the end. couldnt care less than to "buy xp". how idiotic.

It's a decent buy if it's on sale.

NOTE: This game stutters a lot if you use an 8kHz polling rate mouse. Drop your mouse polling rate in Razer Synapse or whatever other software you use to remove the stuttering. I just bound the button on the bottom of my mouse to toggle between 8kHz for competitive games and 1kHz for compatibility with older games like this.

Just finished playing it.
Quite an enjoyable game. Good enough main story (although the bad-guys Templars vs the good-guys Assassins theme is growing old; then again, this is a game that was launched in 2015 if I'm not mistaken), good side missions, good music, good gameplay. I loved the improvements in technology even though Steampunk never existed in real life, but still.
I'd liked more weapons to choose from, as well as outfits, but it's just me I guess.
