Assassin's Creed® Unity

The new gameplay and parkour was nice to toy with, ignoring some flaws. It was quite easy to interrupt your attack before it hits with a counter. It made it easier to fight hoards of enemies, but maybe too easy. The parkour made it harder to make mistakes or drop from heights you would normally die from. It isn't that bad, but sometimes it could feel like running into an invisible wall. The parkour was also a bit more flashier, but wasn't bad to free roam with.
The story was quite a nice story with some flaws, but I didn't find the flaws that bad as the characters were all selfish or ignorant in their own ways. I really enjoyed how the DLC ended Arno's story and understanding of the brotherhood and what it means being an assassin.
I would also like to point out that all multiplayer missions do not require others. It will be much harder, but it is not impossible.

Full of buggs, coop doesnt work like its supposed to. You often get stuck in a mission and have to reload the Checkpoint. Also the movement feels sticky and not very responsive, at least what i can tell when playing on M&K.
The good part is the Story and the amount of content you have access to. Also parkouring feels great.
In total I would say that it feels like the devs didnt had enought time to polish the game.

After playing for 102 hours, Assassin's Creed Unity is a good game, although it still has bugs that are not well fixed, but overall, Assassin's Creed Unity is a 9.8/10.

Uplay login is incredibly annoying, i just want to play a game, not doing mobile banking transaction which need login everytime i click PLAY!. and no, i don't want to link my steam account to Uplay, so shut up and let me play my already bought game!

It has random encounters whenever you navigate the city. Its missions are also packed full of combat. You have combat all the time. The combat is stylish. It demands your attention. The combat and is the main appeal. The environments are stylish enough to interest a second look. It is a game that can draw interest from looking at the cool environments. It isn't anywhere near as pretty as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, but the combat picks up the slack. 8/10.

I like the game mostly for the story and how versatile it is, as i can go killing everyone i want to or go as stealthy as possible and never be seen by anyone i dont want to.

Not sure why I waited so long to play this, because I thoroughly enjoyed it. It features some of the best that the AC franchise has to offer in terms of gameplay, storytelling and atmosphere.

Great game but feels like less of assassinating, I spend all my time trying to assassinate everyone than rushing so it was kinda fun.

The game can be a mess sometimes, very clunky to play but it's still enjoyable. The story is alright, combat is fun (until they whip out a gun that is) and the parkour is flashy and fun to look at. Would still recommend the game when it's on sale.

The world of Unity has a lot to do, so much that you easily spend around 100 hours just to complete assassin contracts, this bothers me a little, who is more focused on the story, and with the presence of RPG elements, they become a necessity to complete if you want to buy new gear. As soon as I reached Paris, I completed the DLC because that gave me a lot of money, each chest has at least 5000 money in it, and with the use of mod ACUFixes infinite ammo, I was able to buy almost all Legendary equipments. Well, from that point on, I just focused on the story and seriously Ubisoft made finding the legendary outfit of Thomas de Carneillon a chore to find, easily lost interest. In conclusion, this game becomes a chore nearing the end, but for the people thinking of having a good time, yo will find a detailed world to be in Paris is super cool location to be in, and you will get a chance to climb the Eiffel Tower during a mission. For me, this game was 6.5/10.

The fact that there is only the russian language in my version of the game is what made it a total waste of money. It maybe my fault that I have not seen some kind of warning on the store page or maybe there just was not one at the time I bought it (it was just lying in my library for a while). I understand the difference in pricing but forcing so many countries to just one language that they do not even speak is a complete crap of a decision.

Maybe it's nostalgia but, I used to like AC games, at least the Auditore saga and Black Flag are still great imo.

Now I just want to see Ubisoft burn to the ashes.

The good old Assassin in the French Revolution era. Maybe a few too many collectibles, and the controls can be a bit tricky as always, but overall, it's very good!

Ubisoft, how the hell do you mess up this badly in a game set in your own country. I'm just going to focus on the things Unity did well as there is nothing else to say that hasn't already been said about the negatives. Paris is a great map and probably the only thing with which Ubisoft paid homage to their home country. There are a lot of customization options (something which would disappear from future games until AC odyssey came out) and the parkour animations have gotten a lot better, even if the system itself is a lot worse than what came before. That's it, there's not much else that is good from this game. Everything else is either a massive downgrade from previous entries, like stealth for example, or has been left untouched. You do get the Dead Kings DLC for free when buying the game and that is probably the only reason why I can recommend Unity as it's actually a very decent expansion.

Only Secrets of the Revolution DLC adds new singleplayer content to the game in the form of 2 missions and 1 murder mystery. They will all take you around 40 minutes to complete, and for 7 bucks they are not worth it at all.

Story - totally fine story ( Arno lost father, join brotherhood, found love of his life, got fired from brotherhood, lost love of his life) while not this story have ezio masterclass story it’s still totally fine story ppl just overreacting 8/10.
Gameplay- The best in the whole series, what I like the most about this game besides parkour and fight, its customisation, it’s totally a blast: 1. Weapons (long, heavy and one handed)
2. Outfits - you can literally make your own outfit and that’s the best thing about it

DLC- one of the best dlc-s in whole ac series which u go deep into story and character of Arno Dorian.

this is my favorite assassin's creed game but i can't play it because i don't know russian nor chinese. there are no other options in the settings, PLEASE ubisoft listen to the community FOR ONCE and switch the language back to english, or add a DLC for english version cuz i'm willing to pay anything just to get a taste of the original assassin's creed unity experience.

This game is great the parkour is smooth and fun the combat is quite pleasing as well i recommend this game to others it has great play time as the story is decently long and the side missions and activities are great.

Definitive proof that Assassin's Creed fall off after AC 4 Black Flag. Parkour feel worse than the previous game, don't get how people think this is better. Story is so goddamn awful that I think Arno is one of the worst character written ever. Unity could've been the best AC game but it's made by Ubisoft. At least the DLC is good, only recommend if you play it with your friends or achievement hunting.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is an absolutely beautiful game, especially considering when it was released. The architecture, the character animations, and the overall graphics are stunning. Paris is brought to life in a way that’s really impressive, and it’s definitely one of the best-looking AC games, at least from what I’ve played so far.

That said, the collectibles can be overwhelming. There are just so many of them that trying to 100% the game can get exhausting. It started to feel like a chore after a while, which took away some of the enjoyment for me.

The Dead Kings DLC, though, is great. It feels more polished visually than the base game for some reason, and I’d definitely recommend playing it. On the other hand, the Secrets of the Revolution DLC didn’t really do much for me. It adds a few missions, but they aren’t all that exciting.

I also tried the Revolution Armament Pack but found it underwhelming. The weapons weren’t very useful, and I think it would have been better if they were just cosmetic upgrades rather than affecting stats.

Overall: If you’re a dedicated AC fan, this game is worth playing. For new players, I wouldn’t discourage you from trying it, but I’d suggest playing other games. It’s a great experience for fans of the franchise, though!

A decade later and it's still riddled with bugs, the pop in for NPC textures makes the game unplayable for me. I'm still in disbelief that still wasn't fixed 10 years ago, I shouldn't have to download mods just to play a game I spent money on. Fuck Ubisoft!

Assassin’s Creed Unity is a game of contrasts. It features some of the most impressive visuals and innovative gameplay mechanics in the series, but these strengths are overshadowed by a lackluster story and a rocky launch. At launch, Unity faced widespread criticism for its numerous bugs and performance problems, ranging from frame rate drops to graphical glitches. One of Unity's strongest aspects is its breathtaking recreation of Paris. A standout addition is the cooperative multiplayer mode, where players can team up for specific missions. Today, with technical issues mostly resolved, Unity is worth revisiting for its breathtaking world and refined mechanics. While not perfect, it remains an ambitious and memorable entry in the franchise.

Stunning graphics, even 10 years after release - Paris looks wonderful both graphically and as a setting. Doesn't run too bad either (3070 laptop - high-max - 80 fps).
The game itself is very different from its predecessors mechanically. The combat is very different and, in my opinion, an improvement over previous games. Parkour, while very fluid and aesthetically pleasing, is simplified and less enjoyable, which is a disappointment since it has been a selling point since 2007. Both regular and social stealth are pretty good, the latter enhanced by the dense crowds of Paris.
Another thing I enjoy a lot are the side missions. Assassin contracts have backstories and unique activities and the murder mystery missions were the highlight of my playthrough. The main missions have things called assassination opportunities which I thought were an amazing addition.
The worst part was the story. Great at first, evidently underdeveloped later and leaves you with an underwhelming ending (supposedly, the Dead Kings DLC does something to amend that, but I haven't played it). It explores some interesting ideas, but leaves you disappointed in the end. Arno doesn't stand out too much from other protagonists.
THE BUGS ARE STILL INSANELY AWFUL - crushes, freezing, inability to strike in combat, some visual glitches.

Overall, would recommend. Fuck Ubisoft for the amount of wasted potential this game has.

I’m glad Ubisoft eventually fixed this game, it’s a real shame how it originally launched and that’s all it’s known for. If it wasn’t for that, this could’ve been one of the best AC games in the franchise.

Arno is probably the best Assassin we’ve had since Ezio. He has his wit, flirty attitude, sarcasm, definitely the most interesting after Ezio.

Love the setting of the French Revolution, Paris is stunning to run and climb through, can’t say the same for the Dead Kings DLC unfortunately, found it a bit bland and boring.

This game made me remember why I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with the old style AC games. As great as the settings are and the freedom you have, the parkour can get clunky and annoying. Meant to jump to one thing and then Arno does the polar opposite, it’s not all the time but in some instances it gets frustrating.

Also not a fan of the forced multiplayer element in this, would’ve been nice if it was a separate part of the game like what they did with GTA V, but when 100% completion is held behind multiplayer missions, it’s a bit naff.

I’d give AC Unity a 7/10, I’d give it higher if the DLC wasn’t boring and if the bugs were completely ironed out. Had to reset my checkpoint multiple times cuz Arno was just in a falling animation mid air, and there’s no way to stop it. That’s just one example, it’s nowhere near as broken as it was on launch day, but it’s still not 100% unfortunately.

after 30 hours and getting through memory sequence 9. The whole game is reset and im back at zero. I have the achievements to prove it and my time wasted. Never purchasing another ubisoft game again.

I enjoyed this game, even though it still has bugs and glitches. The latter can be funny, like when enemies spin around after dying, but the bugs—thankfully rare—can be annoying. For example, Arno sometimes refuses to come out of a hiding place, falls beneath the ground when assassinating an enemy from above, or encounters unkillable enemies. Despite these issues, I still managed to beat the game and reach the highest rank. I even completed the infamous tournament mission.
Also, Paris is beautiful—especially at night!
I miss that variety of landscapes from the Assassin's Creed games that take place in America though...

This game gave me cancer. There is not a single redeeming quality about it. Story, characters, gameplay, side content, combat, stealth, parkour, it's all terrible. I know it takes place in France, but that is not an excuse to have it be literal fecal matter. Previous AC games gave you the option to purchase maps so every collectible item became visible on the map, this one doesn't. So you can imagine how unpleasant of an experience it is if there are over 400 collectibles to gather. The 'riddles' and murder mysteries are also godawful. A bunch of cryptic bullshit combined with popups that overlap on your hud. The biggest pain is knowing that nobody was fired over this level of incompetence. Thanks for adding achievements though, I love torturing myself with crap like this. Dear Ubisoft, I'll be awaiting your upcoming bankruptcy with great anticipation. Good riddance!

A very badly optimized broken mess. The UI and UX are just horrible. Missions are very boring and enemies are literally the same 3 dudes all the time. Would not recommend to anyone. You'd have to be a die hard fan of AC for it to be worth it.

First of all i had to set the game to compatibility mode in windows, cap my frames in nvidia control panel and fix various other settings for the game not to freeze lag. And because i started playing this game few years back i wanted restart from the beginning, but the Unity doesnt even have a "new game" or delete function... One more thing, there is a game breaking bug where if you take damage while climbing you go in to an infinite loop. Nice graphics and gameplay but how is it legal to sell this broken game.

honestly beautiful game, solid parkour and game play mechanics, pretty straight forward and fun to play/beat! also the co op is still active and gives some extra content to play with friends! recently added achievements as well.

Immersive Parkour & Stunning World Interrupted by Bugs

I finally get what why people say “Unity was the last proper Assassin’s Creed game”, in fact, it was more of an AC game than some previous entries.

I wanted to play this game for a very long time, ever since its release, but thankfully I only got to play it years after, when all the release bugs and issues were all fixed and removed, it feels like the whole world beta tested for you and you’re getting to enjoy the full product at last. Expect, there were still a few issues left with the game, but none grave enough to ruin the experience.

The story was kind of a let down, although very unique in premise, the side quests were fun enough, and Paris itself was the star of the show, it has so much life in it, even though ironically, it’s going through its darkest period. The music is fantastic, and the graphics? The best Assassin’s Creed ever looked.

The online scene is still barely alive, thanks to a few small communities trying to revive it, you can still catch a few co-op sessions occasionality.

Underrated Game, give it a try and you will be amazed for how good it is!! 9/10

I usually don't bother writing reviews but this time I had to make an exception: the game itself looks great and the design and the setting are absolutely awesome but the controls are so utterly terrible that the game feels unplayable. Trying to control Arno's movements is just a gamble and if he doesn't do what you intended him to do (which happens in too high a number of cases), you will be surrounded by ten guards within seconds, who magically appear out of nowhere. I finally decided to uninstall Unity during the eleventh sequence since the story is not that gripping either.
I like a challenge and difficult games but unfortunately, this one just drives me insane...

best parkour in the franchise absolute W that was shadowed by a horrific launch honestly such a tragic AC in terms of story but a must play for fans and those who are interested
