Summary
rFactor 2 is a realistic, easily extendable racing simulation from Studio 397. It offers the latest in vehicle and race customization, great graphics, outstanding multiplayer and the height of racing realism. rFactor 2 features mixed class road racing with ultra realistic dynamics, an immersive sound environment and stunning graphics, perfect for top-level esports and a rich single-player experience.
Race against a field of AI cars, or in multi-player mode against others. rFactor 2 supports a full day-night cycle as well as dynamically varying weather conditions such as rain which dynamically builds into puddles. Tracks feature "real-road" technology that changes the grip as more cars drive on it. You can run full 24 hour endurance events and in multi-player mode, driver swaps are also supported. Everything can be customized by the community, including adding new tracks and cars, and a wealth of add-ons are available on-line.Working with several partners, rFactor 2 has been used in hundreds of esport championships all over the world – in particular McLaren’s World’s Fastest Gamer and Formula E.
rFactor 2 is also an evolving product, which will be updated and added to for many years, so the list of features will expand!

great game for people who like to experiment with mods and content creation, just to have a little fun.
Despite the online experience not yet being up to par with others, this is still the very best driving experience.

Sadly achievements not possible to collect. Bring back the possibility to switch to needed beta version or fix the achievements so that people get their achievements. Ofc i will fix recommendation than.
Btw: Its not about a negative recommendation because of hunting achievements... Its because a simple fix which the studio dont want to do.
Really good driving experience. Feels good to drive with nice force feedback. It takes some time to get the right settings and force feedback but once it works the driving is amazing. The only thing that's annoying is the AI drivers that have a weird habit of smacking you in the back and spinning you out.
It's a good time. i'm a late adopter. Still learning the ins & outs. Overall a very versatile simulator.
Great handling and community content.
Great game but sometimes a little difficult to get working, but when all the planets align rFactor 2 is one of the best sims totally recommend.

I love the sim. I recommend the game because it feels real. The sim get's you better at the real thing.

realy good free content
Could not get the game to function, mapping controls in game went fine, but did not translate to driving at all. Pedals and shifting totally broken. Additionally, the audio is so messed up, it hurts to listen to all the constant crackling and popping. Games been out for how long and its absolutely broken. I am sick and tired of spending hours to get games to work. I shouldn't have to google 500 issues and modify game files to fix issues that shouldn't even exist in 7 year old game.
the small town tracks are amazing! Pittsburgh International Raceway is my favorite and this is the only simulator ive found that has it

one of the best of all time, its a big game you need alot of storage space for it, thats the only down fall but thats the same for iracing.

Still the best Sim ever!
KartSim is the best karting mod out there, worth getting if you are into karting/practising.
There are so many mods out on Google or on Steam Workshop that you wouldn't really have to buy anything, if you were to search for long enough on Workshop, you would find lots of different tracks/cars to race on

My new favourite sim with all the content and it looks amazing even with my 4070 and in VR as well. It drives very well.
good sim had a nose bleed while driving f2 in palm beach crashed the car alot real nice
Main menu is a bit outdated but overall fairly realistic game if you have a set up for sim racing wish they’d come out with a newer game or updated a couple of items
its good force feedback hard to setup and its got a clean playerbase exept me
I have always been looking for that Grand Prix Legends experience, but I just could not justify spending so much for iRacing considering I am just a casual sim racer. Rfactor gives me that feeling... especially running the vintage F1 cars. I don't know what is more realistic or not.. but I do know that doing a lap in GPL always felt like an accomplishment.. and that is what Rfactor feels like. I ran thousands of laps in GPL with just the Lotus 49 on the track.. no other cars... every lap was a joy. Rfactor took me back to those days.
VR support seems fine Laptop with a 3060 seems to run it without effort. Ouest 3 makes it look good (not as good as the others.. but the driving is the attraction for me).
Took me longer to set up my wheel then even playing the game, tho the driving felt really good but thats about it. just get AMS2 or even assetto corsa
what a gem, this underrated sim is quickly becoming my favorite... the fbb feels so real and the graphics look good for it's age, only downside is the ui is kinda meh

This is the best sim racing game out in terms of realism. Isn't that why we play? Also, because it was developed so long ago, modern hardware runs it really well. Its not a drag on high end systems like games using unreal engine. Very high framerates make for a much more realistic and fluid experience. Getting a critical mass of online players seems to be the challenge for any sim exception iRacing. Don't know how to solve that one, Studio 397 has tried.
Better than iracing
both RF and RF2 I recommend highly, as a somewhat casual gamer who likes f1 games, but am not interested so interested in the overprice EA f1 games now, nor am i someone with some elaborate sim setup. Rfactor games have a tonnoe of content - superb f1 mods covering many seasons and something about the experience reminds me more of Crammonds Grand Prix series. Its a hard to decide between RF series and Assetto Corsa's SimDepartment mods.

Considering what sims have on offer the money rF2 is up there with the best... Menu model is a bit retarted thou, too complicated.
Incomplete product from the get-go and never fixed/addressed. Force feedback and quite a few of the cars/track are good, but a lot of time was spent trying to get things to run properly, either something doesn't load properly, crashes, odd exploits, and it's not worth the hassle for the majority.
With no actual sight of any further development on RF2 with all resources shifted to LMU, this is dead in the water.
Yes absolutely recommend rf2...driving physics, sound, cars and tracks available are all sensational...the game is buggy and not polished, but the driving experience is exceptional.
love it, but the nurburgring track is stuck on a pending download and it wont finish installing. I dont know what else to do because I keep pushing finish installing pending tasks, and it still wont finish installing. other than this, I really love and enjoy this game
