An underrated gem from Ubisoft that, despite its flaws, I must say it's addicting and fun to play. The Division brings a game that if it's not a 10/10, it's a 7,5 or 8/10.
Instead of playing as soldiers or police, in The Division you play as an agent who tries to find answers about the infestation of a virus that destroyed New York. During the search for culprits and helpers, you will fight criminals and bands trying to set chaos in Manhattan.
I think the gameplay is what makes this game fun, even if it's kind of broken. I love how playing with your characters feels realistic, but I hate how enemies are broken. Like, since when can a normal dude take many shots, even in the head? I guess Ubisoft tried to give a challenge instead of turning the game into a boring ride.
I have to say that visually aged like a good fine wine. It's a game from 2016, released for PS4 and Xbox One, and yet it looks clean, beautiful and it represents perfectly the scenario of a apocalyptic New York.
The voice acting is good. Not perfect nor disgusting.
I consider the game has a decent price. It gives you tons of hours of gameplay yet when you finish the main story it can get repetitive. Still, there is a PvP mode and co-op mode that might give you more hours of fun. If the 30€ don't convince you to buy it, during sales the price drops to 4,5€, a more decent price IMO.
If you want a game to play with friends for hours, The Division is made for you. If you want to try a different Tom Clancy game, The Division is made for you. And if you are looking for a game to spend hours and hours of gaming, The Division is made for you
got this game for the first time when i bought my first xbox one. This game made me cream as a kid and now cream as an adult.
Stimms my autism perfectly.

This game would have gotten a positive if it wasn't for that crap encounter in the dark zone with that one guy who was zipping around and killing everyone trying to get away from him. I also want to point out that Ubislop has the worst customer service. a friend I played the sequel title of this game with, was hacked and lost all progress and characters by a guy in South America. Nothing was done about it and we have not played since.
The game is just not fun. The enemies are all bullet sponges. The guns feel as if you're throwing rocks at your enemies instead of firing bullets. Explosives don't kill anything. Everything just feels underpowered, and unsatisfying to use.
The atmosphere and story is good, but the gameplay is just atrocious.
This game is underpriced and often goes on sale for $4.49. Holds up in 2025.
i love the premise and gameplay, but after finishing my first session and trying to come back, i got some error and it won't let me play the game. i don't even care about multiplayer, i just want to play the game.
Only worth it for the survival gamemode experience and nothing else.
Please report this player, demo360alex he is a hacker and has unfortunately spoiled the game.):
Good, solid game, if repetitive and full of bullet sponges.
Hands down one the best looter shooters in genre. The first one holds a special place and still holds up today. Running through New York and saving people has been a blast.
Cool idea of a game hidden behind a Ubislop game design. Terrible balance, always online requirement with horrible servers, PvP focused end game filled with cheaters. Overly grindy, currency has almost no value, especially when you finish the main story. Overall just a bad time waster.
It's a good game. Nicer now that there's less other players around.
This has to be my favorite Tom Clancy game out of all. I love the story, enemies and love put into this game. The way that ISAC (the voices in your head) speaks and integrates into your game play, highlighting enemies and objectives (optional too!). I would hold people at gunpoint to play this game because it is fantastic.
Fun looter-shooter. Not big on the pvp in dark zone, but that's just personal preference.
In short, this game is about bullet spongy enemies, completing all markers on the map, and (preferrably) co-op fun. The damage is weird, thanks to the "rpg" elements - your stats that are affected by your equipment that you will have to change throughout the entire playthrough. Open world missions are repetitive, but the story missions are good.
Unfortunately not many players left here, but the game is playable solo. It's not easy, but the game doesn't punish you that much for dying.
If you're interested, buy it on sale, this game always goes at -85% discount nowadays. But if you plan to buy it, don't leave it out for too long, I don't trust Ubisoft, as they are known for killing thier own games. I hope they won't shut down servers any time soon.
WOW. This holds up well in 2025, very fun to play and they've updated it well. The tutorial now is easy to follow and you don't need to look up guides like you had to on release, i've experienced no bugs and it runs beautifly. This is the type of game you can grind or just chill with. Reminds me of the OG Destiny days. Solid 9/10 and would 100% recommend to most gamers. The story is fun and it's heavily focused on fighting so if you aren't into combat I would say give this a miss but other than that I think every type of gamer would enjoy.
so far, i'm loving this game. it's pretty fun to just mow down some poor level 3 rioter with an M4A1!
still, i'm not that far in, so i'll update this when i finally beat the game i guess
I'm so glad that my favourite Ubisoft boss "Raptor" got a satisfying conclusion to his villain arc in the final mission.
A good in-between game
Picked up the game on a massive sale at $5AUD at 2023, didn't like it the first time but enjoyed it the second time this week after ignoring / not taking the story seriously and just focused on what the game does well - Environment design (of the Dark Zone) and solid gameplay loop (of the Dark Zone).
----------------------------------------------------------
The Good
- Environment design and vibes of the Dark Zone, this is where the focus is and you can tell as you progress from the south to the north end of the map; I only wish we can continue forward to the Collapsed New York Central Park.
- Gameplay loop of shoot and loot is solid, with plenty of gear and sets to find at the endgame
The Mixed
- Dark Zone forced PVP is a mixed bag, if you are a solo player like myself this is where you'll find friction; some players you come across want nothing to do with you other than a polite wave and go about their own grind, yet at populated hours you are more likely to run into a full maxed out squad gunning you down at sight for their enjoyment.
The Bad
- Story, don't even bother with it, other than the premise and the main antagonist being the most interesting aspect of the game every other character you come across is poorly written (for what there is) and you can see the rot of the Ubisoft writing team in 2016.
- The forced monetisation and other forced aspects to slow down progress in-game that was pushed in to increase those ubisoft stock numbers is there, while not as egregious as modern title you can see the trajectory leading to their state today.
----------------------------------------------------------
i've played this game on all 3 platforms, xbox, playstation, pc.
I have enjoyed every single second of this game because of how easly catchy it is, and i've played this with some of my friends on pc and it has been way more fun, this game is really good and i reccomend playing it with friends, altough there some issues, as for the cheaters in the DZ and how small the division 1 communiti is compared to the second, the atmosphere is amazing, how in some occasion the snow storm during fights gets heavy and you can barely see, and especially during survival.
If you're intrested in buying a DLC i reccoment buying first Survival then Underground as because survival is a total different game.
9/10 game LOVE IT!
why it got single player tag, bought for single-player but why i see other players in my game ... instant refund
well it's kinda interesting with the gameplay, i really enjoyed it myself. but yeah.. if you want more content you need to pay more
This game is kind a RPG Shooter. You need to grind and collect items and weapons by completing missions or scavange on dark zone. The looks is awesome and the environments looks very detailed, i love how ubisoft create the post apocalypse world because of the viruses downbreak. The combat mechanics is unique and great, its just everything based on level and gear that make this game isnt really realistic. If you want a realistic shooter game dont get this one, u cant one-tap people at this one if your gear isnt good and their armor isnt sturdy. But if you dont mind that i really suggest you to get this one.
The Division games are games that I have played on multiple systems and have come back to over and over again. If you like 3rd person shooters you will enjoy this game! And now the game has achivements, this gives me another reason to come back.
It's a game that doesn't deliver what they promised in the end but it's entertaining When you finish the story, the only thing left to do is PVP, but it's full of hackers who ruin the experience. Sometimes it has a peak of people playing but it's entertaining to a certain point despite the years
**Review of Tom Clancy's The Division**
Tom Clancy's *The Division* is a captivating blend of tactical gameplay, deep RPG mechanics, and immersive storytelling set in a post-apocalyptic New York City. From the moment you step into the boots of an agent in the Division, you're thrust into a world where every decision, from combat to character progression, feels meaningful.
One of the standout features of *The Division* is its **build diversity**. The game offers a rich variety of ways to play your agent, allowing you to fine-tune your character’s abilities, weapons, and gear to suit your preferred playstyle. Whether you're a tank-like agent who can soak up damage and control crowds, a sniper who excels at picking off enemies from a distance, or a tech-focused agent who deploys drones and gadgets to outsmart your foes, the options are endless. Each piece of gear, mod, and skill contributes to creating a truly unique agent. This depth makes for an experience where no two players need to have the same playstyle, giving a refreshing sense of freedom.
In addition to build diversity, the **replayability** of *The Division* is one of its greatest strengths. With a sprawling open world, a variety of dynamic missions, and a robust endgame filled with high-difficulty content, there’s always something to keep you coming back for more. The game's **Dark Zone** is a particular highlight, offering a thrilling mix of PvE and PvP that encourages both cooperation and betrayal. As you progress, the challenge ramps up, and you're constantly rewarded with better loot, keeping the loop engaging. Whether you're exploring new zones, tackling challenging missions with friends, or going solo to see how far you can push your build, *The Division* offers countless hours of content that never gets old.
Overall, *The Division* succeeds in delivering an exhilarating and deep experience that stands out in the crowded world of open-world shooters. Its build diversity and replayability make it an essential title for fans of tactical gameplay and RPGs. Whether you’re a casual player or a hardcore enthusiast, the game offers something for everyone, keeping you invested in its world long after the credits roll.
10/10 loved it since the first cinematic rolled out. Still stand by it. (casual player)
-The world design is fantastic—New York feels alive despite the post-apocalyptic setting.
-The RPG elements are solid, but gear grinding can feel repetitive after a while.
-PvP in the Dark Zone is intense but can be frustrating if you keep running into groups.
-The game is better with friends; solo play can feel punishing at times.
-The story is decent but nothing groundbreaking—expect more of a looter-shooter focus.
If you like tactical shooters with RPG elements, it’s worth a try, but be prepared for grind-heavy gameplay.
I went into this with high expectations. But to my disappointment, the game is just another grind fest. There are some pros to the game though,
1. The world is beautifully designed. If you want to know what a post apocalyptic looks like this is where to begin.
2. The mood and atmosphere really suck you in.
The cons though are a lot:
1. The absolute grind fest of an experience. Especially if you are playing alone (which I was). You have to constantly do the same repeated missions but in different parts of the city to upgrade your character and it becomes monotonous.
2. The lucky draw type weapons upgrade - cant upgrade your existing weapon, until you find the same weapon with a higher rating. The similar mechanisms as Breakpoint.
3. Enemies will be so difficult and are a bullet sponge. You have to empty an entire magazine to kill one person and by that time 2 or 3 others are already shooting at you.
4. Thanks to Ubisoft connect, the game will randomly log you out, sometimes even multiple times in a play through. And depending on where you are (in mission or free roam) it will put you either all the way at the start of the mission, or at the checkpoint, or even back to the safe house and you have to walk all the way to the mission and start over again.
All in all, maybe it would have been a fun experience if you have friends to play with. But as a Solo player, nah not for me.
I initially played this game on Xbox at release and picked it up recently to play through with my girlfriend before we moved on to the sequel since she had never played the original. The game still holds up surprisingly well in 2025 and we have had a lot of fun with it. The playerbase is obviously fairly small at this point so anything involving matchmaking is an issue now. The Dark Zone is also fairly empty, but we have run into the occasional player.
Still worth it to play through the campaign and I would recommend having dedicated friends to play through it with to alleviate the matchmaking issues.
Tom Clancy's The Division
Ignore the play time on Steam since I bought this game "way back when" on Ubisoft Connect (When it was still called UPlay). Since they added Steam achievements that sync with Ubisoft Connect achievements I decided to buy it again on sale here just to claim the achievements on Steam as well (and in case I ever have a nostalgic craving to play it again) I really, really loved this game when I played it. The PvP was incredibly fun to me even with a blatant cheater here and there and the PvE didn't feel too grindy to me even though I farmed every exotic weapon you could farm. Highly recommended if you're into this type of game. I played a bit and the community seems to still be alive. Have fun with it while you still can!
Really awesome game, being able to play with friends, or solo, you can get plenty of fun out of it.
You get to relax levelling with bracketed areas to play in.
yes i recommend it but my pc barely run it in lowest resloution, BUT i will continue playing until i get a good computer
great game. played it years ago on XBOX and loved it then. Excited to replay the second one again next. I have not heard anything about a third one in the works.
I bought this game back when it first came out back in March 2016 and put about 450ish hours into it over the years but recently got back into it after not playing for almost 4 years! And I'm loving it as much as i loved it all those years back, truly a great game and will always have a place in my heart. Servers are still active although might take you anywhere from 0-120 seconds to find a lobby but with global events active for the rest of the year now is the time to pick this game up if you still want to try The Division. It is still VERY much worth it.
See you in NYC Agents!
They nailed the atmosphere on this one compared to Division 2. I remember grinding for hours and hours on this one for the Xbox One when it came out. Tons of fun.
boring. characters are uninteresting, granted I didn't finish it but the story was so cookie cutter basic I cant even remember what the reasoning for the game is, the game play is one big nothing burger, go here do this over and over, on top of that its not linear so i had no motivation to actually go do anything, I would compare this game to fortnite save the world of all things, but take out everything that makes that addictive and fun and replace it with a jason statham movie on wheels, with no jason statham. and if all of that isnt bad enough the scariest thing about this game is the developer 0/10 ubisoft
It's a third person cover-based shooter with an emphasis on loot acquisition and combat optimization. While there is player-vs-player gameplay, mostly it's player-vs-environment (AI).
While the shoot-and-loot gameplay is nothing special (Borderlands does it better) what really sets the game apart is the atmosphere and setting.
The plotline involves a devastating bioweapon attack on New York City that causes a collapse of law and order. You are a part of the titular "Division", a secretive government agency that is activated after all else has failed. You've certainly got your work cut out for you, as the city has been overrun by escaped convicts, looters, and a group of insane sanitation workers ("Cleaners") that are determined to burn the virus out by killing all potential hosts.
And really, this is the best post-apocalyptic depiction of NYC, or any city for that matter, that I've ever seen. You've got ransacked police stations, looters in the streets, civilians scavenging for food, an impressive dichotomy of normal city life juxtaposed with signs of societal collapse...
Graphically the game is stunning. The Snowdrop game engine has some excellent weather effects. I never thought I would say that snow in a video game could be beautiful, but in The Division it is! There are furious blizzards, lighter snow flurries, high-resolution footprints in the snow, and even a light dusting of snow on your character's shoulders after they've been outside for awhile. But it's not just snow that looks good. Skyscrapers reflect light, glass shatters realistically when shot, the barrel of your machine gun will turn red and steam after prolonged fire, there's just so many little touches that make for a great presentation.
Unlike many Tom Clancy games, the Division does NOT have realistic combat. There is no "one bullet kills" type of realism, and no emphasis on bullet ballistics. Both the player and enemies have a large health pool. Most bosses can take a full magazine of bullets to the face and keep fighting as though nothing's the matter. While some people will complain about these "bullet sponge" enemies, I felt that overall combat in this game is fun. If you're looking for more realism in your Tom Clancy games, try Wildlands.
Combat mostly involves small arms firefights against groups of enemy infantry. While most of the enemies are just guys with assault rifles, a few of them will be specialists that present additional challenges. For example one specialist is a shotgunner that will deal major damage if allowed to get up close. Another specialist is a guy who hides behind a shield which protects him from your bullets, but he is vulnerable to flanking attacks. Many of these bad guy specialists have weak points; hitting the weak point will stun/damage the enemy.
The cover-based shooting makes good use of a cover-to-cover movement mechanic. There is also a blind fire attack mechanic which gives reduced accuracy but leaves you less vulnerable to return fire.
A big part of the game is unlocking skills. As you progress through the storyline you earn Medical, Security, and Technical skill points which can be spent to upgrade your base of operations. An upgraded base of operations gives you permanent buffs as well as more options for combat optimization. Extra shopkeepers can be unlocked, free loot can be gotten, and most importantly you can invest in your character's skill trees. You can have up to three skills available at a time, and which ones you choose will have a huge impact on how you play. For example, one skill is a "seeker grenade" that, once thrown will actively hunt down the enemy and explode. Another skill is a "support station" that provides constant healing as long as you remain within the area of effect. Skills can be easily switched out; there is no such thing as messing up your character build and having to re-spec your character.
Your base of operations starts out as a dilapidated post office, but as you gradually build it up it eventually becomes a high tech base teeming with trained personnel. Awesome!
This game has been described as an "RPG" but the storyline is linear with no plot choices to make. The character development of your NPC quest-givers also leaves much to be desired. Your Division boss (Lau) and the Medical supervisor (Kandal) were I guess supposed to be written as assertive leader-types, but instead they just came across as being arrogant jerks. The other two main NPCs in your base (Benitez, Rhodes) have better dialogue but are still mostly forgettable. The game's main antagonist (Keener) is poorly fleshed out and absent for most of the game. It is never adequately explained why Keener's lackeys (the LMB) are actually fighting you. On the plus side, there is a large amount of backstory flavor in the form of audio diaries (cell phones), written situation reports, survival guides, ect.
As your character completes missions they earn experience points which lead to level ups with better stats. Each mission you take on will have a recommended level, and I strongly advise that you respect it! Completing a level 20 mission when you are only level 19 is going to be tough. Completing that same mission at level 18 may be outright impossible. But overall for most of the game experience points are plentiful, side quests give good rewards, and there's little incentive to go grinding for XP.
Once you've made it to the maximum level (30) and beaten all the main missions you'd probably think the game is over, right? Wrong! The Division is actually only just starting because a slew of end-game content gets unlocked at that point! Completing the main campaign (with side quests) will probably take about 20 hours, but the end-game content can easily occupy you for HUNDREDS of hours of fun!
In the end game, since there are no more experience levels, you instead will be looking for classified gear sets and exotic items. These are rare loot drops, and indeed your character progression will slow down considerably. I do feel Borderlands handled late-game character progression better, because you could still level up and put points into your large skill tree, while in the Division by level 30 you've already maxed out your skill trees and levels -- better loot is all there is left to optimize your character with.
A brief synopsis of end-game content:
*High value targets, which are basically randomized open world quests of variable difficulty.
*West Side Piers, a new area that opens up with its own quests.
*Underground (paid DLC), a randomized quest line with its own level-up system and unique combat modifiers.
*Survival (paid DLC), you're stripped of all gear and must survive both the weather and your enemies.
*Last Stand (paid DLC), team-based PvP games.
*Daily and Weekly Challenges, replay the main missions under specific conditions for extra rewards.
*Incursions, the hardest PvE missions in the game, they must be completed with a group.
*Resistance, survive as long as possible against progressively harder waves of bad guys.
*Dark Zone, the main PvP area in the game, you can be killed by other players (rogues) but there is also PvE content. You can actually enter the DZ before level 30 but it's probably better to wait until the end game.
The Division also contains a crafting system, a weapon recalibration system, and unlockable cosmetics and emotes. There's a bewildering variety of currencies, probably more than any other game I've played (it should've been simplified).
The game music is high quality and helps to set the mood. Fighting criminal gangs in a neon-lit Times Square as a blizzard rages and the "Times Square" soundtrack plays is an incredible experience!
The Division can be played solo, but I strongly recommend playing it with friends. Up to 4 players can join up together for some great co-op fun!
If you're looking for a shoot-and-loot game with great atmosphere and fun co-op, try out The Division!
OTS tactical shooter in an ultra-realistic, familiar urban setting w/ friends? Take my money... Almost 160 hours later, it's been pre-pandemic since I played it weekly, and I'm diving back in so I can run the Underground DLC for the first time. To have that kind of desire so many years later is evidence of the pull this game has on me. Ubisoft can truly go f*** itself, but Massive Ent. has a special place in my bitter, blackened gamer heart. It's certainly not perfect; but nothing is, so grab your Gov't-issued Wristwatch and fight those pesky diseases, Agent. ;^)
Played this game when it first came out, it was amazing me and 3 friends decided to relive the glory days. we are not dissapointed still one of the best games of all time! especially the DZ
About 35 hours into the game and I'm enjoying the game solo thus far but I wish I could team up with even just 1 other player but that hasn't been the case even once despite asking every person I see. I know the game was meant for coop despite being basically impossible now that everyone has moved on to The Division 2 years ago so I'm not holding that against the game. Great graphics, runs smoothly on a low-mid level gaming laptop (3050 Ti). Movement in combat has been very fluid and the cover system has been exceptional. The gun variety is nice and although I'm not FPS expert, as I barely play competitive shooters the guns feel diverse enough with enough difference in punchyness, kickback, reload speed, and steadiness between guns. Environments all kind of look the same but I really dig the atmosphere of the game. Some zones at night are creepy while during the day feel alive and exciting. Overall digging the game!
Beat this game on xbox when it first came out and now back at it again because they added achievements to it on steam.
Still a fun title in 2025!
Although I prefer Ghost Recon: Wildlands, this is objectively the better game of the two. Lots of fun. Lots of grinding. Lots of loot. Lots of pew-pew. And PvP is integrated well into the main mode (although in a sub-section, called "dark zone") of the game, unlike Wildlands' (mostly dead) PvP.
Interestingly enough, when I've played a multiplayer Ubisoft game (except for R6 Siege, of course), I've never encountered a single @ssh0le, everybody I've met is a respectful person who doesn't behave as the typical cave brain keyboard warrior with a superiority complex and the obligatory sense of entitlement. <3
Although most weapons don't sound as good as in Tarkov, the M700 bolt-action sound of manipulating the bolt and ejecting a spent cartridge is so freaking good. I would give up a build just to be able to hear this sound all the time.
Speaking of builds... yes, this is a kind of RPG, which forces you to work with lots of min-maxing. People may say that the game is forgiving with sub-optimal builds, but that is very untrue for certain missions and especially for solo play. Which means that, if you want to be not miserable, you are forced to play with certain weapons, which is kind of a bummer and breaks immersion (and nullifies the "role-" part of a "role-playing game").
It runs buttery-smooth, as all Ubisoft openworlds I've tried so far do. It's kind of amazing how they achieve that consistently (it's not surprising, considering they work with their own Anvil engine and can spare the manhours needed for tweaking & optimizing).
It's a great game and it's still alive, despite Division 2 existence, which is pretty cool. I hope it doesn't get murdered by Ubisoft's "financial optimizations" in the near future.
One of the best co-op games around. Worth replaying and there is lots of activities to do after the story content is finished.
the best looter shooter!
the atmosphere is unmatched, looting and grinding is mad fun.
TD2 is a big downgrade in the series.
I love this game the combat and collectables outside of the main story are great and I'm so glad it has steam achievements now!
after 43 hours of play time, i think im satisfied with this game. not a 100% completion because im not a madman. but i very recommend this game to try!
ultra settings + oled monitor, visually this game goes bonkers, if i didn't know this game existed and told me it released recently I would believe you. ohterwise it is a simple looter shooter mmorpg type game, just a fun casual game for me. nothing too crazy besides beautiful world.
Still waiting on the game from 2013 E3, if u know u know....
only con it is dead so if you wanna enjoy co-op gotta find a friend to buy it too and also ubisoft launcher.
very worth it for 5 bucks
Игры похожие на Tom Clancy’s The Division™
