Amazing game, lots of replayability
At first the game was fun, but it quickly became way too repetitive. The “roguelite” elements are incredibly weak, as the only real difference is how leveled-up each character starts. Plus, the “classes” don’t feel unique - they’re just characters with different skills leveled up, which is pretty underwhelming.
The dungeon crawling is awful. Enemies are repetitive, and the events are super generic and boring. Crafting feels really underwhelming too since you have to leave someone behind at the base to actually craft anything. On top of that, it’s frustrating how little healing you get after returning from expeditions outside the camp, especially when you have so few characters to use.
Combat is a slog. I found it really annoying that 90% of the time (at least it felt like 90% of the time), the enemies get to attack before you do - even without an ambush.
The concept of the game is great: managing a camp while sending characters out to scavenge resources is a cool idea - the game This War of Mine did this masterfully -, and the turn-based system has potential in this context. But the combat is a total drag, likely because both sides have way too much HP and your moment to moment actions don't feel like they really matter. I get the need for a mechanic that limits dungeon-crawling progress, but games like Darkest Dungeon do it so much better.
Score: 3.5/10 - Mediocre
Boring.
It's a simple zombie game, looks nice at first sight. But the combat is too simple, and all the locations look the same after 2 hours of play. The game just becomes boring.
I am not sure what to make of this. The UI is very confusing. Either I hit a glitch and the game prevented me from traveling, thus ending the game, or the UI is so damned unintuative I could not figure out how to travel.
Then I need to pick up some materials for a mission. I have 48 and I need 50. I go out on a mission and get 5 materials the first fight and 5 the 2nd. That is more than 2, right? So I head back to camp. Rather early, I know, but I had picked up 10 materials when I needed 2. Next day comes around, last day to complete the mission, and I have 48 materials, therefore the quest is failed. WTF
I can't keep putting time into this when there is always some reason that I can't continue forward. Just too frustrating.
Quite challenging camp management and interesting learning curve

What a bade game, if you want to waste money, go for it.
Not bad, not great. I'd give it a C. If you're bored and having nothing to do its a good time killer. Is a bit different each round when you die and start over and there's upgradeable stats and what not. Outside that its bare-bones and can get repetitive and is more about luck than anything else. Seems like a cell-phone game more than a PC game.
Weird but fun :D
Can´t give a positiv review cause the pure gameplay in the fights is slow and onesided and sometimes based on luck
There's a lot going for this game, but I can't recommend because the meat of the game is boring and shallow grinding through battles. Some sparse narrative and character dialogue albeit nicely written just seems mindless. I felt like a mindless zombie clicking through a lot of things.
An okay rogue-lite turn-based combat game with strategy elements set in a zombie apocalypse.
This game offers:
Rogue-lite gameplay: if your main character dies, medals earned in the playthrough can improve the main character (although I find these upgrades not that helpful) for the next playthrough.
Character skill management: You can recruit many survivors throughout the game and manage what roles you would like to assign to them
Resource management: A few resources to manage to ensure the survival of the group. Some resources are linked to major missions.
The Good:
Turn-based combat: Melee weapons, guns, traps. There are many offensive and defensive skills to use in combat. Combined with the roles you assign to your survivors, each mission's outcome can vary. Forgetting to bring a character who provides first aid? You might need to cut your mission short and bring fewer resources back to camp. Bringing characters use the same ammo type? You might have to fist fight tough boss when your ammo runs out
Different enemy types: Each area has its zombie types with unique attack moves.
The in-between:
The weapon model does not match the actual weapon during combat. You can craft and scavenge a few weapons for each ammo type. The weapon shown during combat is, however, fixed. So you can equip a Uzi, but the weapon shown in combat would be an AK.
A bit grindy. Although you are not forced to reach the final stage of each mission (area) , you do have to survive 35+ days. This means you need to go through missions (areas) multiple times. Yes, you can skip days without scavenging, but good luck equipping your survivors or finding some important resources (i.e. tool, that is used for hunting) to allow you to continue hiding in the camp.
The bad:
Horrible UI. Finding items can be painful after you have gathered a lot of ammo, equipment, and craft material.
Generic storyline and some stupid missions. The storyline summary is that you get knocked out in a zombie apocalypse and are rescued by someone. He brings you to a camp, and now you are in charge of that camp to rescue more ppl. You hear the government will rescue you, but something happens (not explained who caused it), and now you have to go for plan B to survive and maybe save the world. You can romance some female characters (two zombie-killing missions with each character) as if this is some fantasy daydream. Does this sound unique or interesting? They have to introduce "romance," don't they?
Overall, Dead Age is an interesting game in turn-based combat but failed horribly in terms of storyline. If you are a turn-based combat fan, give this game a try. If you want to be immersed in a zombie apocalypse world, you should look elsewhere (maybe The Last Stand: Aftermath) because Dead Age's setting is too boring.
Sure animation is very clunky but there is a lot of effort put into this game by the devs and I highly recommend giving it a go if you like RPGs and Zombies.
