This game is an absolute blast and easily fits in the top 10 best game experiences of my life.
It is a niche game mostly for Star Wars fans or Joystick flying fans. If you're one or both than this is your game.
Disclaimer: I used to play this when it came out but for nowadays I would always recommend installing the XWAUpgrade mod. It will bring the entire game up to day and playable on modern systems with enhanced features while fully keeping the game and campaign intact. It is a free must have to play this game in modern times.
It's better than Star Wars Squadrons because this game nails the Star Wars vibe better. Better story, better characters, better plotlines and more fresh and renewing for its time than Squadrons is today.
Besides a great story campaign one gets to simulate space battles to take part in.
One of the greater forgotton Star Wars games that needs a real (and not EA Disney childish Squadrons) remake or sequal.

I especially like the simulator. I can customize any scenario I want. The scripted missions are boring.
As good as I remember, possibly better than I remember
Selling 25 years old game for 10$ and not giving it keyboard support is just ridiculous...
