Dual Souls: The Last Bearer

This has sat in my library for a couple of years and I only now tried it out. It's surprisingly a good put together package for an indie fighting game.

Dual Souls have a lot of soul behind it, and i don't mean that as a pun. Dual souls easily one of the most dense fighter by having alot of mechanics that Fighting game enthusiasts will recognizes such as Power recovery that simialr to Guilty gears False roman cancel, or Dual soul's "blocking" being parry mechanic that has some rps element like melty.

Character have some personality behind them as well, but player can also edit their characters color pallets, a feature that use to be common place in SNK'S King of fighters, that has not made a return from some time. Further customization can be playing the game Adventure mode where after battle, player can pick certain perks for the arcade run, with progression. How ever I believe this is single player only for balance sakes. On minor side of other customization, Player get to choose which super they want for the character, they only get two option but the two seem to compliment their game plan or address weakness of another. Further the game allow player very simple style of input or traditional motion input for specials. The devs have insured that this a novelty and that Dual souls are design around how special moves are used and not weather you can execute them or not.

Dual souls has alot of content that mostly stick to the core game experience as competitive fighter, their is no would tour mode seen in street fighter 6 or thems fighting herds. While that may sound bad, that is only the case if your only looking for single player or PVE game. Dual souls prioritize power player but providing robust learning tools in tutorial and training mode, and multiple ways to find matches, but playing by yourself for yourself for

This is the most Altaic game I've ever played. If more people played it I'd probably do a more thorough review.

Has every single combo mechanic at once, 10/10

For the price, it's probably the most complete fighting game package outside of Guilty Gear +R, itself a pillar of quality in the fighting game genre. Dual Souls is one of the most fun fighters I've ever played and really nails being easy to learn but hard (and fun) to master.

only 42 minutes, its a f**king good game!

weak point:
1. default keyboard setting 1 always have a problem about choosing menu option, in the meanwhile, i change the default, but it still exists. only default keyboard setting 2 is ok.
(just i tested the keyboard, not the gamepad)

good point:
1. comic style, one role attach action skills are 6 actions, and combo skills can be set in the keyboard setting.
2. single mode, including arcade mode and other mode, it can choose "vs cpu" and choose custom cpu roles, so great setting mode.

lack of story mode, its pity, but the great quality of the game have a low price, it is worthy!

This game is a lot of fun every character I tried is fun to play
I love the meter that tells you what supers you can do at different points it is a cool idea

it has rollback and its really well implemented, played someone in turkey and their ping was like 300 and it still ran smooth as butter. i like they implemented a replay system that can also be played in case you wanted to better understand what you did wrong. im not a big fan of the art style personally. this game is not bad if your looking for something more casual to play, its really fun. I think if you enjoy fantasy strike you will enjoy this one too. im impressed the devs still update this game honestly

this game just feels jank. its probably isn't bad but kinda just feels bad.

downvoting till i hear from a dev on why i bought this and cannot play online with anyone on eaither game slashers has no netplay option for my game and last blade never connects to a player sooooooo yalll gunna fix this or nah ???\

Awesome work. The game feels very functional and is super fun.

Love the character design and there's obviously a ton of content to go around.

This is a really solid fighting game that is legitimately fun to play. The characters all have very unique movesets and the mechanics complement this very well. *Edit* Rollback netcode is now in this game. 10/10

This is one hell of a game. If you are a fan of Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter you'll love this. The combat is sharp, the combos are easy to pick up and difficult to master. There are a limited number of characters available at this point, hoping to see that list grow some what, or possibly let us customize our own ?
The online fighting is great fun, I've had my ass handed to me from some very highly ranked individuals. It was a joy :-) Being able to see your past fights and watch others, as well as watching best combos people pull-off. The whole thing feels like it's going to be a master piece of the beat-em up genre.

My only downs to this are the same as ever with these types of games, the audio clips get old, fast. The music can become a bit meh at times as there isn't a great variety of tracks. The backgrounds to the fights could use some work , it would be nice to have the MK using backdrops to help kill or injure an opponent.

With that all being said, I give this 8 out of 10. I expect it will be more like 9/10 when it is finally completed.

This game is perfect! An active community that continues to strive to create new things. An open devloper that's willing to listen to the community and make adjustments! The gameplay is smooth.... the characters are very interesting!!! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT'S NEXT!!!!

It is a good enjoyable fighting game, only bad thing is THE DAMN RECOVERY TAKING MY POWER BAR!!!!!! ARGHHHHH other than that love this game.

OH MY GOD THEY MADE AN HD REMAKE OF DUAL BLADES ON GBA

This game is amazing: Sure I've played this on Android, but this version takes it to the next level. This is more like a cross between The Last Blade (Sword Play, Slashing and the Fatalities), Street Fighter 3 (Blocking and Reversals) and Guilty Gear (Roman Cancelling and Recoveries). That would be cool if there were air dashing and air combos, but overall, this game is rock on. I know this is early access, but I am pumped for full action and excitement! I rate this 9/10 because of how this turns out so far. I'd recommend this game for anyone. Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained.

Slashers is a competant, mechanically sound fighting game that has a lot of potential. Limited at 4 characters now, I don't feel short changed with it's price tag and knowing it's in early access.

Originally I wasn't feeling the art style, but after having hands on and seeing it in action -- it's really growing on me.

The amount of content already built into the game is astounding and I really hope that even a small community will grow around this game. I plan on hopping in the Discord soon to see if I can some time to test online but I was able to test local play and will do a future video showcasing that.

My initial impressions of this game surprised me and I am happy I could support you as a dev!
