The Jump Jets are your main source for navigation. With a short cooldown and subtle directional response, time them correctly for the best approach, adjustments, and angle.
TETHER SHOT
When you hit an Orb with your Tether Shot, it will yank you in its direction. Be accurate and precise, your position when linked will make all the difference. Your gun takes a few to recharge, so try not to miss.
REMOTE
Your Remote will activate receivers which, in turn, manipulate an element within the trial. Launch an orb, open a ledge, and unlock a door just to name a few. Don't forget, you're usually flying through the air.

You should GET this game.
very fun to play, interesting puzzles.
As someone who loves puzzle platformers i was very excited to play this game, and honestly I think that it might have become the next big thing. Unfortunately once i purchased and played the game for the first few tutorial levels i discovered that the minimalistic design, while maybe an aesthetic decision, was also an indication of what i feel to be an unfinished product. the gameplay was very clunky and the "tether" hit registration was very poor. to the point where you can watch a video of someone completing a level, then replicate those steps but have something randomly not "connect" with no indication as to why (shot to high, to low, not close enough, ect...) due to the game offering very little in the way of objects to use as a reference for depth perception. I own plenty of games that i didn’t enjoy, but this is the first time I have ever felt the need to write a review and the first game I have ever just wanted my money back.
I like difficult games, and puzzle platformers.
This game had high potential but the implementation is very poor.
At first I saw the game had jumpack action and a sort of grappling hook and I went WOW this is gonna be great.
A game that relies on precise timming, jumping, triggering switches should have been awesome.
And here is where everything goes wrong.
When activating the jumpjets the screen trembles, which means your aim will be randomly thown in any direction. I mean if the game relies on aiming and jumping to test the player skill then said player should be allowed to aim as good as he can right? The aim problem is further compounded by the autoaim of the grapple. Yes, you read it right. In a game that tests aiming skill you have autoaim (besides the random aim described earlier)...
Then there is the platforming: jumpjets and being able to airwalk should make platforming a pleasure. But no! The walls have almost no texture which makes it very difficult to get an idea of the direction you go in mid air. You see the same color metalilc wall and is difficult to say in which way the character goes. It is thus very difficult to execute the precision jumping required by the game.
If the developers read the reviews:
- please eliminate the screen tremble when activating jump jets
- eliminate (or give an option to eliminate) the autoaim of grapple
- offer much more visual clues to indicate the mid air speed of the player (simplest way to do this is to texture the walls and place some doodads in the rooms)
I was curious about this game and it has been a pleasant surprise. I think it is the first UE4 game I tried and I am amazed how the graphics could be in the new generation. Apart from that, the mechanics and gameplay are similar to Portal, but with its own style. It is a good game worth playing if you are sick of the same CoDish/BFish FPS stuff...
Was fun for the first tutorial level, but the 2nd was way too hard. Gave up.
My wrists are super sore and my fingers hurt because I've been mashing the keys so hard for three hours. This is WAY more difficult than Portal, and takes things a step beyond. Split-second timing is the difference between success and failure, and you'll have to use superhuman reflexes to beat the best times and top the leaderboards.
The gravity mechanics are fantastic and force you to plan your routes in advance. Tethering balls and double-jumps help you navigate this first-person puzzler and it gets EXTREMELY difficult as the game progresses. This is not for the casual gamer, it's for challenging yourself.
APT is a Portal-like aesthetically looking game where you solve puzzles in a closed set of room(s), but instead of a Portal gun, you have Jets, Tethers and Switches. If you thought Portal wasn't a very challenging game, APT will be right up your alley, Portal's level design focused more on figuring out where to go and what to do, while APT is more about fundimentals and execution, and still finding out what to do. So this game is for the bit more hardcore puzzle platformer than others. Each Level/Trial has it's own little puzzle that can be solved in most cases, more than 1 way. The game keeps a good balance between really hard levels to easy ones, sometimes you'll come across a really hard level that might take you an hour to get Diamond or top score in, while the next couple preceding it only take 5-10 minutes doing the same. There is a ton of satisfication to beating the trials and getting that Diamond Rank and that's where it gets addicting.
So to Sum it up, It's like Portal but harder, Level design is on point, and if you're really into being the best at this game you'll easily get your mone back on this purchase.

Like Portal but with Dubstep and jump jets. 10/10
If you like challenges and would like a game that feels like Portal and Mass Effect made a love child then try this out!
The controllers are smooth. Framerate is smooth. Heard of crashing issues but never experiences it myself after 2-3 hours of constant gameplay while recording it as well.

This game is a mix between Portal 2 (visual style) and BunnyHop/Surf (gameplay style) maps in CS. What frustrates me personally is that you can't disable the stupid effects, I understand that they are beautiful and shit, but it's really frustrating when you're on top of some level and in the middle of a jump can't find you crosshair behind all this sparks. 2 Checkboxes would impove my experience (and i believe any hardcore gamer) significantly - 1) disable sparks 2) disable crosshair shake after doublejump.
It's a good game but i believe it's not worth 15$ you could get something better. Like portal 2 for 20$. But you may like this game more than I did. It's pretty good-ish.
Update (2020-09-19) Full disclosure: this review is based off 10 hours of game-time. I have not re-played this game in a very long time.

For a puzzler of its type there is something to be said about the difficulty. As a casual gamer you may find that most of the levels are easy until you get to that one level which requires an impossible jump. An hour later you might get lucky and start patting yourself on the back for that silver/gold medal you finally claimed; and on you go to the next level. However, if you do decide to retry for diamond, you have to be extremely precise, and perhaps gravity-defying. For those who want to compete, this is a fun game to play.
The game is not without its flaws, but I am confident that the developers are going to fix them very soon. For nearly two hours after installation the game performed horribly at 1920x1080 on an i7-3770k and Radeon HD 6870 (even with all settings on low). By modding the assets of the game and removing a couple materials the game instantly became playable again. As it stands I am convinced there there are some necessary optimizations that need to be done, because removing the materials is only a short-term solution and also subtracts from the game's polish. If you have a more powerful rig than me, then you probably won't have any graphical lag.
Another issue I have with this game is the camera shake. Almost anytime you perform an action the camera will shake violently which makes it very hard to land precise shots while rocket jumping. I have a hard time keeping my mouse still while under pressure and the camera shake only makes it worse.
All that being said, this game is pretty hardcore (and fun).
Not my cup of tea unfortunately ( I lack the dexterity personally). However, i would easily recommend it to those with a craving for Some kind of momentum based puzzler with a balls to the walls difficulty.
