Very fun game that I come back to every few months and play it obsessively as if it was brand new.
reminds me of childhood
I bought this game on CD rom many years ago. It has been one of my favorites for years.
Buy the game and download openloco which is an ongoing development of this game.
This game was my childhood, along with the wacky mobile port they made and released as "Transport Tycoon". Like the games prior, it really was coded in assembly, which makes it run fast but it's incredibly unstable on even relatively new machines. An open-source remake exists, called OpenLoco, which like OpenTTD runs much better but it's still a WIP so you need to buy this game for it to work.
Still super fun 20 years later. Save often though, it's a bit unstable. there's a bunch of GP30 mods for it so I kinda have to rate it highly anyway.
