Fuego!
Fuego is an online Mexican standoff game between two opposing players and their teams of gun toting animal-banditos. The game starts in the standoff where players position and orient their banditos one at a time, in double blind turns. During the standoff players are trying to unravel the impending shootout while identifying strategic linchpins and outsmarting their opponent. After all the banditos have been placed, the shootout ensues and the players watch the consequences of their actions. You shoot a bank, you get the gold. You shoot a bandito, you steal the gold. Just make sure that when the dust settles, your gang walks away with the bigger haul. Even if that means losing a few friends along the way.
Game Modes
Online Multiplayer- Play against random opponents or arrange matches with friends
- Collect new animal banditos and accumulate gold
- Single Player Puzzle Mode - Solve 60 Mexican standoff puzzles
- AI - Practice your skills against an AI opponent

It's worth getting this to try the multiplayer. Every game I've played felt different. The mind games are real.
What a great puzzle game! Simple mechanics, but lots of tricky levels that can definitely trip you up.
There's also a slight story that actually made me feel...something. It's hardly a story, it's mostly just the idea of what the banditos are doing, and the text at the start, but man, playing through the game made me question most of what I was doing...which I think is a positive tbh. Highly recommended, especially since there's an option to do a battle against AI! I've tried it out, it's pretty cool, reminds me of chess in a way.

Puzzle/tactics about robbing bank by animals-banditos.
• Puzzle and versus mode.
• Each bandito has one or several guns. You need to place them in the right spot and rotate to rob banks.
• In puzzle, rob all banks. 60 different levels.
• In versus, get more money. AI or online (but online is dead).
+ Number of guns is turn priority. That system allows making chain robbing.
+ Meat shields from chickens and ricochet churches will help or interfere you.
+ Avoid bullets of enemy banditos – better use them to make dirty work for you.
+ Atmospheric art and music.
= It's hard to get some achievements. Sometimes AI behave itself very strange.
– No settings for versus AI mode: you always start first and have just several seconds per turn.
Short little unique puzzle game that was fun. Multiplayer was not active back when I played it, so you'll need to rope in a friend.
Its good. fun puzzle. Interesting PvP, still good though. best quotes I've ever seen. Fantastic game for PCs of all builds.
An absolute blast. The worst part about it is no one is playing it.
Great time killer
A great little puzzle game, fun and challenging, and worth the price.
The multiplayer seems great, but the servers are pretty empty. The AI is alright, but a real opponent would be better. It could use some kind of lobby/LFG feature. As it is, you just have to play with friends or else hit "quick play" and leave the game up in the background until someone else comes along.
Fuego is a fun little puzzle game, with a simple premise that works very well. The game has two parts; one part of the game is the pure puzzles that has about 3 hours of content (I personally mostly played this mode) and the other part is a faster versus-mode, that you can play against AI or Online (I didn't play online, so I don't know if anyone is playing there).
Because I mostly played the Puzzle mode, and because that's where you'll get your guaranteed value, that is what I will critique. And it's quite good; you have an objective and a certain number of bandits to use in order to succeed. You line up your shots, and you begin the shootout; the bandits with the least guns go first, the bandits with the most guns go last. Simple.
The game does get slightly more complicated as you go, with a few being really tricky and requiring a lot of thought and/or testing to figure out the right positions and angles of your bandits. However, it doesn't have moments that other puzzle games might have, where you might feel forced to look up the answer because of pure frustration. What it does have is pretty slow animations between each death, which can be annoying if you just missed a shot and only need to slightly adjust a single bandit. This is nothing gamebreaking, but worth noting.
Honestly, Fuego can be described in few words, because it is a simple game. The gameplay is good, if not very spectacular; the progression in difficulty is decent, but not hardcore; there is a story element, that is interesting but not mindblowing; there is space for some achievement-hunting, which is probably fun enough; and there is the versus-mode thrown in there for an extra bit of value. If I would use only one word to describe Fuego, it would be "humble" - it does what it sets out to do, and that's pretty much it. Nothing more, nothing less; almost like a good crossword puzzle. And on that basis, I'm happy to recommend it.
This is not the game you're looking for.
It has less to zero learning, so you haven't got a clue of what is actually going on right now.
Visual style is great, though.
Gameplay is not.
4/10.
Nice and entertaining. Puzzles are well balanced.
it's good
(TL;DR↓) First off, this game has been on my wishlist for quite a while, and I finally picked it up on sale, for 49¢. I would have gladly payed full price for Fuego! and I'll break down why. For starters, I wasn't expecting much more than a simple, casual strategy game, but it is a pretty decent experience so far. It's multiplayer, cross-platform multiplayer even, it has a puzzle based campaign, it's got A.I. for quick play games, the art style is nicely done, the soundtrack fits well, the game runs a steady fps count, and it generally plays well. All of those are major upsides, especially coming from indie developers. But, it's also a game that doesn't require a low ping to play online! That's right, you heard correctly! This was one of the major selling points for me personally, and I only found out once I started playing. Since this game is so simple, you can play this game online anywhere, and games that can be played online by people in rural areas are few and far between, which is great for someone like me who doesn't live in the city full time. Fuego! is a simple, sweet, casual strategy game that you and a friend can both enjoy together for a few bucks. I look foward to this game gaining popularity and growing as a whole. It has the potential to be a bigger multiplayer game; if Fuego! had the option for matches with a bigger player count, that could make it more replayable too.. The more friends that can play, the more fun there is!
I finally beat all of the puzzles for Fuego! and I even created a guide to help out players who get stuck. The puzzle mode was at times very challenging, and at others fairly simple. It did take some time to beat, but it felt very rewarding to complete puzzle mode. I definitely recommend trying puzzle mode without the guide, though, unless you absolutely need to.
Overall, I'd say it was a great purchase. It's inexpensive, it's entertaining, it's.. well, you've read the review.... It's Fuego!
TL;DR:
>got Fuego! on sale
>enjoyed playing with a friend
>made a review
>updated review as I progressed
Pros:
+a fun casual game
+multiplayer
+cross-platform multiplayer
+can be played online with ping out the wazoo
+plenty of puzzle based strategy
+has a.i. for solo quick play
+nice art style/art in general
+decent soundtrack
+trading cards
+achievements
+cheap
+quick matches
+decent difficulty
+entertaining
Cons:
-could have option for 2v2 or more
-online community is dead
-forums are dead
-dev's don't seem very active
-gets a bit repetative
-only one resolution option?
-underplayed/rated*
>in it's current state, even though finished, I'd probably give this game around a 7/10 rating
>I myself consider it worth the sale price, hands down
>I wouldn't have minded paying sticker price after my experience with Fuego!
Fuego is a clever, intuitive and fun little puzzle game.
The premise of the game is simple enough, place "banditos" to shoot banks and gain gold. Easy enough. Then as the game progresses more mechanics are presented to the player, which add an extra layer of strategy. Despite some problems in the difficulty spike, the game remains fair. The multiplayer aspect could be good if there was an active online, as the AI is kind of mediocre in these matches.
Fuego remains an entertaining and elegant game, thanks to its presentation, easy to pick up gameplay style, and low price.
Nice challenging little puzzle game with a cool Mexican vibe. Got bored pretty quick though. I guess I was hoping for something more exciting and fast paced based on the theme. COuld maybe be redeemed by a good multiplayer game but the servers are basically empty. So that sucks.
Really liked the art style and old western music. Atmosphere is perfect. Wish there were more tracks though. Cant' recommend this game because of how tedious it can get. Even after you know the solution to a puzzle, it takes forever to shoot, stop, adjust, etc. This made the game more tedious than fun.
Overall 6/10
If you enjoy puzzles then I absolutely recommend this charming little game. It saddens me that this game has so few players as you can tell it is full of heart and creativity. It also comes with an online feature to test your puzzle skills against other players that would of course benefit tremendously from a larger audience.
Excellent game.
A great, fast paced game. Wonderful premise.
NO ONLINE GAME WHATSOEVER.
No one plays this, nor are there any lobbies or matchmaking capabilities, so you are left to stare at a screen, "Looking for Online Opponents" until you leave.
The forums are dead as is the game.
If playing the AI satisfies you, enjoy.
Awesome atmosphere and a unique feel! Check out the review for full details and recommendation -
