This game is fantastic, but still Early Access.
There is not yet support for the touch devices, just Xbox pad for now. The pad controls are perfect though.
The GFX and sound are old-school, but that's what I like. The 3D immersion is fantastic, you can really make use of full cockpit view when you need to roll, loop and else in order to catch balls. It's a genuine pleasure to swerve between trees, and to feel sick when you manoeuver close to a mountain. You really feel volumes, that's what VR was meant for, and few VR games give you such good feelings.
The early access part is the big drawback for this game. You may either fly freely in a few maps, or 'race' in some others. The race part seems unfinished and pointless for now, let's hope it will develop, and the whole game as well.
For this price, I'm still happy to have what I have, but let's hope it will grow on this very encouraging basis.
Pros:
- Works on a low-end laptop
- Big world
Cons:
- I never become motion sick in VR but this is quite the stomache turner;
- Does not work with WMR Motion controllers;
- Graphics are really below average
Personally, I do not recommend this game
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Xbox 360 gamepad
This game is a buy on sale. I think $8 bucks is too much given the quantity and quality of content here. This is a low polygon world and there's several glitches along the way that takes away from the enjoyment. The feeling of flight is good, but not great as you never really get a great sense of speed in the air. Although it is faster than most VR plane rides so those sensitive to fast movements in VR may feel queesy. It is good training to get VR legs though IMO.
There's 3 game modes with 1 of those game modes having a different type of aircraft. None of the game modes stood out but all three are nice time wasters. One is your standard time attack where you go through rings in the air. You can turbo boost along the way. I believe there are three maps and difficulty from beginner, intermediate, and expert. The other one is Free Flight and is really only a slight variation from the timed attack, you find these green orbs throughout the map but you are not timed at all. So you can turbo boost here as well, but there's no reason to. I believe there are 5-6 maps.
The last mode is one where I experienced a major glitch other than the crashes. it's called target practice, but you're the arrow. You have a Jump Seat aircraft where you shoot yourself "jump" from target to target. It feels like a hovercraft. However, the game would always not load the Alpine Forest map, so only one of the maps worked. Not counting the failing to load this particular map, the game crashed about 3 times in about 60 minutes of gametime.
Rate 5.5/10. Just too many glitches, a little overpriced, and it's just not pretty to look at.
This is one of a few VR games I come back to. It's such an enjoyable, peaceful experience to fly across the sky in this game. You can really make yourself believe that you're flying through these polygonal worlds.
I hope the dev adds more content. But what's there is definitely worth the price.
Stuck at loading screen of "Press A to start"
Nice game but I have a thrustmaster a-score and the right joystick for yaw does not work ,. I know that the steam gamepad is more advanced and even cooler to controll. but anyway.
Simple, but relatively cheap and awesome game in VR. I tried it with my Oculus Rift CV1, loving it... ☺
This game is an under-appreciated gem for VR! I just finished experiencing all of the ring attack and target practice levels that come with the 12.30.2016 Early-Access version as well as the free-flight canyon level.
WOW! This game is really fun. Flying around in the jet is feels great! Controls are solid, arcadey, reminds me of Descent or Rogue Squadron, but your in the game, feeling like Will Smith flying down narrow canyons in an alien spaceship from ID4. Each 'ring' you go through increases your speed and the level design forces you to roll your ship, often upside-down, in-between trees/cayons/etc in order to make it through the next ring without slowing down. It is quite exhilirating to say the least!

The Jump Seat feels a bit more like a floaty Pilotwings helicopter or a big drone. This mode was quite enjoyable in a different way. More of a puzzle game, timing the landing and making sure your lander is level when it touches down. Limited fuel in this mode keeps the tension high. Though I never ran out, I almost did a few times, and you lose points for using fuel so perfecting your 100-point landings might lose you points if you spend a lot of fuel on course corrections.
The three game modes are enjoyable and the courses are long and well designed. I still have two free-flight courses to check out and I have already gotten almost 10 hours of gameplay out of this. (Free-flight sets you free to roam and collect a series of orbs, pretty relaxing!)
The global leaderboard is nice, makes it feel like this game is sitting in some virtual arcade and only a few people have access to it, coincidentally probably the same amount of people who had access to my local arcade in the 90's. I challange you all to beat my many high scores!
With more modes/multiplayer/new vehicle coming soon, this is an absolute steal at the current price of $6.99. I wouldn't be surprised if the prices goes up later after early access. There is pretty much no reason not to get this game if you are at all interested. You don't have to get out of your chair, I can actually play this game right at my computer even though I am a few feet outside the Vive play-space. Probably works on your favorite gamepad. Well done developers, well done!
I can't wait to try dodging live networked players as well as the terrain, I'm predicting a bright future for this title!

This is a great game to experience flying motion you are in control of. The graphics are simple as if Starfox for Super Nintendo was given HD VR treatment. The gameplay is very solid for its value. You may be inclined to play your own music soundtrack though.
Being in the cockpit of the Hovercraft is a great view. It WILL make you sick to your stomach if you don't train yourself for VR motion. If anyone says it made them sick, that's too bad for them. It's so much fun if you can get past that.
Limited content but very fun. Probably the cheapest VR flying experience. Would love some more levels and vehicles but still worth it right now for the cheap price point.
+Minimalistic but good art style, cool controls on the jet, the jump seat one is too unstable in landing though. Fun casual timesink. Renewed my faith in VR.
-sound design is doing my head in.
8/10 would fly again
It's too bad but this game looks and plays like it is very much unfinished. The controls are cluggety and the views outside are confusing. You can hardly tell if you are upside down or right side up. I really wanted to like it but have to be honest. I think it is a waste of time and money. The opening screens are the best part and it's downhill from there. Thank goodness for the Steam refund policy.
Note: I'm playing on a Rift CV1 with Xbox controller, and I'm 99% sure Steam is under-reporting my played time by half.
My first couple of tries with this game at the default perspective and controller settings were pretty frustrating- I was endlessly crashing into trees and hillsides and the controls simply did not do what I was expecting them to do. But once I tried switching into 1st person perspective (X button on Xbox controller) it was immediately clear that I simply needed to invert pitch in my controller settings, and I've been hooked ever since.
The Hover Jets are much easier to get the hang of and the ring attack matches are lots of fun. I've spent the most time on the Jump Seat levels though, because they're quite a bit more challenging and also pretty addictive.
I enjoy the music and retro graphics, and am looking forward to more environments/tracks and hopefully multiplayer in future updates.
I experienced a bit of VR sickness when I was attempting to play in 3rd person mode (my jet, and thus the camera was constantly tumbling), but when I switch to 1st person things are much better. Still get little gusts of it when my jump seat takes a tumble or when I'm turning on two vectors at once- but it's manageable.
This is indeed an early access game and it's not entirely polished or glitch free (some inaccurate in-game text, some misplaced foliage in levels, game crashes or hangs if you take of your rift while it's paused), but the overall gameplay is pretty solid.
I've seen some folks wishing for a non-VR version of this game, but I'm here to tell you: You wanna play it in VR. Once you try a seamless flight experience like this in a Rift or Vive, you won't wanna go back to flat-screen gaming.
Amazing experience! This is my zen moment.
Man this game is great easily one of the best vr experiencces so far, it really makes you feel like your flying around and you feel your body instinctively turning to follow the plane but its still in alpha so not that much content yet, i feel like it could blow up with some multiplayer!!!!
For the price why would you not get it?!?!?!
It's one of the most fun games for VR.
