The Chinese Chronicle
The first entry in the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles saga takes place in China, 1526, as the Ming dynasty starts to crumble. You embody Shao Jun, the last remaining Assassin of the Chinese Brotherhood, returning to her homeland with a vendetta. Newly trained by the legendary Ezio Auditore, she is hell-bent to exact vengeance and restore her fallen brotherhood.

The game is okay, the story takes place after the Ezio short film and sees Shao Jun return with the precursor box that she received from Ezio.
Pros:
- You get to play as Shao Jun
- The graphics are set in Chinese artwork style
- Cool executions
- Chinese themed Assassin music (sounds a lot like Avatar the Last Airbender)
- Ezio is kind of in the game somewhat
Cons:
- Stuck in a 2D environment which seems a waste especially for notable locations like the Great Wall of China
- Hard to figure out which objectives are wear due to the 2D format. Example: sometimes you walk towards the you to see a whole new area
- Explains what the box contains that Ezio game Shao Jun in the film

Nearly 300 hours. Chinese is practically perfect. Artwork is gorgeous. The best out of the Chronicles trilogy. Love Shao Jun. Worth every penny.
A simple fun short game. The story is not bad. It adds a good atmosphere with its beautiful art design.

Better than I expected. I am a > 40 old man who still loves playing game. I now learn things slower than I was and find myself prefer simpler game. This is the one that fits current me. there is no complex and fancy system that you need to remember and get used to. just hide and manage to kill. Not very satisfying but still quite funny. Recommended!

Pretty sweet, I'd recommend if you're looking for a casual/low-commitment game that still scratches the Assassin's Creed itch.
Shao Jun is pretty badass also, top 5 most badass protagonists imo
I'm replaying it now after a few years away and I have to say, I like the gameplay a lot better than any of the modern Ass Creed games I've play. Definitely worth a play.
China
A more stealth focused Assassin's Creed game where you are expected to be undetected and not killing anyone aside from your targets. Very challenging and requires patience if you want to get the highest score in a level
I remember when this game (and the two others in the trilogy) released, it was considered a low-effort showing from Ubisoft. It is wild how far Ubisoft has fallen since then.
Unwarranted bashing aside, this game is not too bad as long as you go in expecting a simple, 2.5D style stealth game. The pricing is fair (a bargain if you can get it on sale), and the mechanics are decent too.
While it is an Assassin game, and it does have the standard AC flavour to it, do not expect much of a story. The story is there, but it is more a vehicle to inject some coherence and logic into the level design than anything greater. This being the case, they have kept the game short, and the average player should take only about 6 to 8 hours to complete it.
I think this game works best if you have a Steam Deck or similar style of handheld. It also works as a great palate-cleanser between larger games.
Give it a go, you may enjoy it.
The game is certainly interesting and original in terms of storyline, artworks, graphic designs for sure.
After having played AC Russia, the three games Russia / India / China might have lots in common in terms of gameplay, and that's actually a good thing, since I can enjoy more on the story rather having to re-learn the mechanism of each game.
The Chronicle games sure bring a unique taste to AC fans! So don't comment if you compare these games to the main series.
I love the arts and environment designing of this game, because to design it means a lot of time invested in learning and understanding the culture, history, as well as color choosing.
The storyline may be too simple, but I like it.
The only part I don't like it is sometimes, the map can be a bit ... complicated in terms of layers, when it comes to finding collectibles or side missions. Again, this is a really minor concern, because the Devs have made such an intricate and deliberate maps that merit compliments from start to bottom, especially when this is one direction A->B kind of 2D maps.
9.75/10 in my opinion. I do tend to find beauty in things, since I can imagine it must be hard for Ubisoft devs to think of making these games after all.
Recommended for Assassin's Creed fans looking for Assassin's Creed games under 8 GB storage size.

If you like 3D side-scrollers, stealth, and counters combat similar to AC black flag youll like this. its refreshingly fun, no bs just jump in and immediately focus on gameplay. I recommend this game.
