Players can switch between up to 4 squads. Switching between squads allow them to act over a wider area. Also, combining squads into an army of up to 200 men allow players to make powerful concerted attacks and combos based on the attacking squad, all for an exciting new game-play experience that combines the thrill of action and the depth of strategy.
◆A Richer Story Mode with the inclusion of Nightmare!
In the “Hundred Years War”, players enjoy a free mission system that allows them to experience the battle from the viewpoints of both the English and the French. Meeting and interacting with such heroes of history as Joan of Arc and Edward, the Black Prince, brings the story to vivid life.
In addition to this, we have included an original Nightmare mode involving huge monsters such as dragons and cyclops. The heroes of history are called upon to fight once more, as England and France join together in common cause to fight mysterious monsters in an entirely new take on the world of the Hundred Years War.

i remember giving this game to a friend for his birthday a while ago, i didnt like this game at the time (cuz i thought it would play like a Musou game) so i gave him this game aswell as a German copy of Mirrors Edge Catalyst. Now in current day, out of the 2 games, this is the one i regret giving away the most lol (bro didnt even play it)
It looked promising but the combat and controls are very unclear, while the tutorial is useless.

Are the graphics modern? No. Is this a high quality port? Haha, No. Is it hilariously fun to bowl through mindless armored bowling pins from the back of a horse while rocking out to a bombastic medieval-inspired orchestra? My goodness, yes.
THREE STEPS TO ENJOYING THIS GAME:
1. Buy on sale
2. Read the community guides on changing to English text, and controller support
3. BE SWORD CAVALRY
If you happen to have fun crawling across the map as any of the other units, then great.

The game is fun and it runs like i remembered it on the xbox 360, that being said the original game was fun and just that "fun". the game is really limited and always has been you can run around and kill stuff no problem but there isn't any real challenge to the game and it's very grind intensive to get to the end, and i'm talking a LOT of grinding for a single player game (originally online co-op) and it can get a little boring at times especially if you play it in long spurts of time. If you can get the game on one of it's rare sales for around 20 bucks then i think it's worth it, the game is fun but very dated and did not age well like some of the other legacy games from the good ol' days.
It's a long form adventure through the war of the hundred years between france and england.
Note I said long form.... each battle can be completed in 15 minutes or less, all the way up to taking an hour or two in a storyline mission.
It depends on you.
However the main campaign will take a very long time to complete!
This pc version is a bit wonky.
You'll need to rebind ALL the combat related keys.
I play this on mouse and keyboard; however all combat related controls are best used purely on the keyboard.
YOu can use a gamepad, but again, rebind all keys to what you want.
This is worth it if you get it on sale; not so much at full price.
Pretty decent Dynasty Warriors type game set during the 100 years war. If you like that type of game, definitely worth a buy on sale.

This game is awesome.... on console but holy cow the PC port is horrible. I have a 3080 Ti an I9, 64 gigs of ram and it's on a m.2 drive and even on low settings the FPS is so bad it's unplayable. Not sure if it's just the optimization or what but it's horrible. on High settings I get like 1 to 5 FPS medium is like 5 to 10 and low is like 10 to 15. I messed with the settings for a good 15 to 20 minutes trying to get it to work right cause I loved this game on console and wanted to play it again. But I would not waste my money on the PC port. And since it's this old it will more than likely not get fixed.
I get more frames per second when I move pictures in my hands.
Thanks Koei for FINALLY putting this on sale. Brings me back to the PS3 days. The nightmare campaign is a nice addition too if you've only ever played the PS3 version.
Got it on sale, its still a fun game with issues do recommand tho.

This game reminds me a lot of Kessen 3, Good ol times.
Anyway, this game is pretty good and fun to play. Especially to bonk your enemies into crisp.

Its says single player but it actually can be play online XD, there is an option to join as allies or recruit or invite to play while playing on story mode. Idk if it works also on the nightamare mode also. Thhis is nice game good game easy to learn but the control tutorial is not friendly yet the game is good. easier to use foot soldier compare to cavalry, bow user is a bit hasssle free to use too. the game funs on its way the enemy is unique and they sometimes can overthrown some areas w/o player or evven ovverthrown player unit. Quite dynamics game good for playing and worth a try.

As someone who has never played this game back then, this is a very unique game and I am glad it finally went on sale after all of these years.

A wonderful, simple game where you lead units against each other. It seems like a first-person fighter, but it's not: you lead squads, and fight with your squad, not alone.
And it illustrates the little-known historical fact that the Hundred Years' War was mostly fought to finance the nobles' hair product imports.
