I wont give up
Don't get dissuaded by its age or jank. This game plays like a charm when you understand the controls of the characters. +R is a better fighting game than basically anything coming out now, and we don't need season passes or money to enjoy this game, which goes on sale for dirt cheap, and has excellent online support. With netcode, you can get your ass kicked in a minute so long as you search for rooms. It just f*cks, and is fun with newcomers like myself, and obviously others who've played the game since it came out. I admit I came here for Bridget, but I stayed for the style and meathead gameplay. It's a serious autism trap, and I say this as someone who previously didn't do fighting games, but I need an outlet for my rage over the state of the world. Sol Freakguy and Bridget give me strength. Accent Core Plus came out originally on PS2, so you know this game is peak.
Best feeling fighting game to control I've played.
quite an underrated fighting game, sure some of the sound effects are hilariously bad (looking at you sol 214S) with that being said, its nice to play the complicated, yet fun characters who some got way too simplified in strive. i enjoyed the story mode aswell, love the fact its played similarly to a visual novel. in short, get this game since its cheap and plenty of fun in solo and even more fun with friends. :P

Uninstalled strive after I got this
Runs well on older hd4400 laptops but then it is 2008. Plenty of people playing online and they are all expert. Graphics are great, up there with SF3. Very fast and perhaps not as accessible as SF but then it is a game about playing crazy anime characters. Anime vampire Slayer is my favourite
Heaven or Hell! Round 6! Let’s Rock! This has to be the best 2D Guilty Gear in the franchise! The cast of characters are packing so much fun move sets and personalities. With 25 characters to master, a lot to learn. A.B.A with her husband key is my favorite character in the game. So many wacky combos. Mechanically this game is smooth with tight reaction combos. It’s never been so much fun to throw down in a fighter than in this game. They brought out all their music talent going all out in this game. You be jamming out as you bash heads! This game is a blast to be had. If you are fan of fighting games than this should be in your library! Until next time, let’s rock! 8.5/10

If your first Guilty Gear game was Strive (like mine was), you might not understand or like this game at first, but if you take the time to adapt, you're in for a good time. It lacks the single button inputs for mechanics like the RC & dash, but it's not a big deal. But don't go in expecting AC+R to be like Strive. AC+R is much faster and less weighty, various mechanics such as RCs work differently, character movesets range from having more or less features to being almost completely different, there's singleplayer content outside of the training modes, netplay runs smoother and has a better matchmaking system, there are designated instakill moves that are risky to pull off, certain characters are in AC+R that aren't in Strive, and there are significantly less resources to learn this game than there are for Strive. Even if you're bad at fighting games (like me), there's a decent chance that you'll enjoy this. Whether you end up liking Strive or AC+R better, neither can truly replace one another.

A good 2d fighter with a large cast of unique characters with a familiar fighting game feel. Think Street Fighter, but with more freedom of combo building. Characters also have ex versions, which have different abilities. I've played this game since it was out on ps2 and I always come back to it.
Fightcade better but still good game

Really fun, don't listen to the people who say it's too hard for beginners. Unlike most older games like 3rd strike you can have fun as a beginner and don't have the few week/month period where you lose
This game aged a little bit better than GG but not by much. Feels slightly more balanced but the bar wasn't really that high. Ky's stun edge does pretty high damage and takes barely any time for him to recover from, but that isn't the main issue, I-No's bull shit is. Just trying to play the story mode, do some easy fights, and see the story. I started out doing kinda bad, but still winning with ~25% health left. As a few more fights happened I got better and better after relearning how to use Sol, and actually managed a perfect on Justice. Then, literally after a perfect, I got completely stuck on I-No. Her first fight went pretty easy for me and wasn't anything serious. But the second fight is just ridiculous. You start the fight with about ~15% of your health gone, her first attack seems to hit even with a faultless defense (which shouldn't even be possible) and that sends you down to about 60% of your health. Then, pretty much every time she lands another attack on you, you lose another 15%-20% of your health. She blocks attacks pretty consistently and seems to have a full burst gauge every time I check, even if she just used it. Oh and also, while all that is happening, she regenerates health faster than most of Sol's attacks can damage her. Unless you Dragon install at every possible moment and land every single special attack and tyrant rave, you aren't getting that hoe lower than 70% health. If anyone else has this issue, the best I've been able to do is get her down to about half health by using Dragon Install when it's safe (usually never because how much of a speed demon she is), and Volcanic Viper, and sometimes bandit revolver. Also, Sol's standing P seems to hit her out of the air pretty consistently.

Absolutely great game. Huge roster full of cool characters, deep mechanics, good netcode, and a lot more offline content than I expected (that I don't play). Story and Arcade get pretty bs once you get to the boss but Survival mode is cool because you get to upgrade your character after each shadow kill.
Online works a lot like Fightcade, with a massive Quick Match lobby that you lets you challenge anybody there. You can also make regular rooms if you'd prefer.
This game is hard and definitely has a lot of older FG quirks like heavy + direction to throw, 0F throw startup, no input buffer, etc. It's a challenging title but if feels rewarding to improve as a result.
I couldn't properly get into it for awhile because too many characters seemed cool but didn't feel quite right. Only once I tried Order Sol did I finally start to like the game.

also the netcode is best-in-class, getting the cleanest gameplay possible on a 5-year-old laptop connected to wifi
quick match deserves its own shoutout too, i literally just hop on and fight people, why cant other fgs do this
