A good 2d fighter with a large cast of unique characters with a familiar fighting game feel. Think Street Fighter, but with more freedom of combo building. Characters also have ex versions, which have different abilities. I've played this game since it was out on ps2 and I always come back to it.
Fightcade better but still good game
Has Order Sol. A must-have for fellow concrete eaters
Damn hard, but damn fun. Sidewinder should be in every GG game the fact that it's locked here is criminal.
Ight
If they don't bring Justice back I will cry in eternal solitude knowing Jack-O' isn't as cool and epic.
di into lose true combo
#runmyset
Really fun, don't listen to the people who say it's too hard for beginners. Unlike most older games like 3rd strike you can have fun as a beginner and don't have the few week/month period where you lose
This game aged a little bit better than GG but not by much. Feels slightly more balanced but the bar wasn't really that high. Ky's stun edge does pretty high damage and takes barely any time for him to recover from, but that isn't the main issue, I-No's bull shit is. Just trying to play the story mode, do some easy fights, and see the story. I started out doing kinda bad, but still winning with ~25% health left. As a few more fights happened I got better and better after relearning how to use Sol, and actually managed a perfect on Justice. Then, literally after a perfect, I got completely stuck on I-No. Her first fight went pretty easy for me and wasn't anything serious. But the second fight is just ridiculous. You start the fight with about ~15% of your health gone, her first attack seems to hit even with a faultless defense (which shouldn't even be possible) and that sends you down to about 60% of your health. Then, pretty much every time she lands another attack on you, you lose another 15%-20% of your health. She blocks attacks pretty consistently and seems to have a full burst gauge every time I check, even if she just used it. Oh and also, while all that is happening, she regenerates health faster than most of Sol's attacks can damage her. Unless you Dragon install at every possible moment and land every single special attack and tyrant rave, you aren't getting that hoe lower than 70% health. If anyone else has this issue, the best I've been able to do is get her down to about half health by using Dragon Install when it's safe (usually never because how much of a speed demon she is), and Volcanic Viper, and sometimes bandit revolver. Also, Sol's standing P seems to hit her out of the air pretty consistently.
Most fun guilty gear game imo
there is a singular frame where ino's nipple is visible. i didnt even notice this but still very inappropriate
edit: it isn't in this version mb
Absolutely great game. Huge roster full of cool characters, deep mechanics, good netcode, and a lot more offline content than I expected (that I don't play). Story and Arcade get pretty bs once you get to the boss but Survival mode is cool because you get to upgrade your character after each shadow kill.
Online works a lot like Fightcade, with a massive Quick Match lobby that you lets you challenge anybody there. You can also make regular rooms if you'd prefer.
This game is hard and definitely has a lot of older FG quirks like heavy + direction to throw, 0F throw startup, no input buffer, etc. It's a challenging title but if feels rewarding to improve as a result.
I couldn't properly get into it for awhile because too many characters seemed cool but didn't feel quite right. Only once I tried Order Sol did I finally start to like the game.
awesome game. That's all I can say
I'd do anything to get a whiff of Baiken's pits and bush
block this overhead
yes
sol badguy
Your never minus if your just not a bitch
Interesting and Exciting combat mechanics, Amazing Music, Cool graphics and moderate player base.
kind of hard to get into but its real fun if you find a character you like
order-sol. what more could you possibly want?
I'm guiltying my gear so hard rn...
I want to find all of the people I've lost to and POTEMKIN BUSTER them in real life.
it has testicle and brisket
You have 6 dollars
CHOOSE 1:
4 PIECE MCNUGGET HAPPY MEAL
OR
2 COPIES OF GUILTY GEAR +R
losing 20 times in a row has never been any more fun
also the netcode is best-in-class, getting the cleanest gameplay possible on a 5-year-old laptop connected to wifi
quick match deserves its own shoutout too, i literally just hop on and fight people, why cant other fgs do this
Hit my friend with Morbid World. hasn't touched the game since.
Went here after maining Potemkin in Strive for 60 hours. He's still fun here. Highly recommended for anyone looking for some Guilty Gear action.
as someone who played strive first, this is infinitely better. dont waste money on strive
I have spent hours of my life just playing this game, learning mechanics and character specific match up knowledge, and countless other meaningless things that do not matter to my life at all. And yet I would not trade that for anything else in the world. This stupid, stupid game has consumed my life, and I do not mind. I am not even all that good. If you allow it, this game can sink into your mind and just stay there. Even with the learning curve, and the skill ceiling just pick this game up. It can be worth it if you are looking to find a fighting game that is fairly deep, with a player base that has been playing for years.
One of the best 2d fighters ever made!
Robo-Ky is playable in this game so it's awesome
refer to my strive review, now only apply to ky, zappa, and baiken
every time i win i feel like the sole badguy of the situation
Honestly my 2nd favorite game in the series, not including Overture. Definitely worth getting if you're a fan of the other games and somehow haven't bought this one yet. My only complaint is that Robo-Ky isn't in Strive yet.
This game has Fuujin man, therefore, it is peak. 10/10. Would recommend.
Very Good.
This game is very different from most popular fighting games nowadays. You will not find slow meticulous strategy in controlled ambients where you know exactly what your opponent do. You will not find a Street Fighter formula of being careful, playing with footsies and expecting a opening.
This game is made to be wacky, and hard to predict, hard to master, hard to know it all.
Expect seeing players picking zoning characters for the sole purpose of rushing in your face like crazy, expect to see people flying for the whole match till time stops, expect doing a slight mistake and getting dizzy to then being instakilled, expect fighting getting combo nonstop from the beginning to the end of the match, expect being hit by a unblockable attack that removes you capacity of using your buttons, expect losing to a gimmick you never knew existed despite playing for a long time.
Sure, this game tries to maintain boundaries and definitions of what is what, who does who, but you can pretty much adapt anything for your playstyle and purposes, just don't expect this will be easy because this game is HARD, so you will probably lose a lot, i mean, a lot. But you don't need to focus on being competitive and winning to have fun in this. You can just do your thing, what you feels are fun, what character you like to play or how you like to play. This game is fun even by looking at how the other player is beating you.
The game also has a lot of singleplayer content, who is also hard, but more adaptable for you range of skill. They have a excellent system of unlocking things like improved versions of characters with different more badass movesets. The survival mode is a big challenge, but very fun, and it uses this system of increasing the stats of the character like in a RPG that you can use to create a extremely crazy overpowered version of your character.
The artstyle very good. it's reminiscent of old punk/metal/hardcore scene in Japan with a lot of old anime style too.
The music is also good. It's a mix of orchestral thrash metal/power metal with some other stuff like j-rock, tracker music and traditional japanese music
All the characters have a lot of personality and game focus a lot on they being very distinct both in how they act, look and play. So you will find a favorite fast.
The games also has rollback netcode, which means that you can play with almost anyone in the world with little to no lag, but you have to be connected to a ethernet cable
Good game
the gameplay is fun, but the interface is a bit confusing. still, if you're a guilty gear fan, play this its not that bad
It began in 2002, and now it's better than before...
Its like sex but better because it has Robo Ky in it
ggs er noget prut.
Robo-Ky is now one of my favorite Guilty Gear characters. 10/10
I suck at fighting games, but it's a good game.
Its very fun !
One of if not the best fighting game in history. Despite being a really dificult game,I recommend this game to all fighting game fans, casual and competitive, specially on sale (3,14$ for this game is insanelly good )
Amongst the best in the series and dare I say one of the best fighting games ever. Lots of character variety, stages, palette swaps, and one of the most banging soundtracks you could ask for. Alongside unique mechanics such as enhancing moves with meter it makes for a heavily offense focused game where being aggressive is rewarded.
Anytime I play Strive I get bored of it within a few days and always find myself jumping back into this or Rev 2 without fail.
this game broke my addiction to smash bros and makes me wonder if i'm pansexual
