I found that I enjoy watching people build stupid contraptions over doing it myself. If you are of the latter then you'll enjoy this if former like me you will not, same if you like puzzles or not.
I built a fully functional car with a piston engine and a tank with real treads. good game
its great very fun but the aerodynamics are a bit wonky
>build an absolute unit of a war machine
>destroy a village with it, leaving only trails of blood of the villagers that once lived in it
>go home
>play besiege
>rage at the game
>repeat the cycle again
10/10
Very fun and interesting game, though still unfortunately limited when it comes to parts and diversity of tools
Nice game, I like the splintered sea expansion DLC and I recommend it to you, but the levels are hard. I like the level editor and sandbox. One thing is that it is very confusing to build machines, especially flying machines, but it is possible :)
I think it was a great idea to buy this game, the dynamics, the maps, EVERY THING! Its a realy good game that has a lot of potential.
Fun Challenging & Adaptive, one machine can solve multiple problems. and it has great replay-ability.
very fun and good for war tanks planes and everything not realy car crashes but brilliant game 10000000 percent reccomend
sooo many thing you can do with this game and if you dont know how to make something good you can always go to the workshop to download something
10/10
Keybindings and selecting/deselecting part is just a mess and unintuitive. refunded
buy it full price you will never regret it, good game to make your ideas come alive in a fun way.
cute little game that got sort of implicitly overhyped by the youtube content cycled. not as crazy as it was made out to be, but if you like the trailer video you will like the game.
This is actually a pretty fun little game.
I bought it because it was cheap and was like sure why not.
I ended up being pleasantly surprised.
Basically the game gives you an objective, break this, move here, kill these guys, so forth, and you then get to make a crazy contraption from all the parts given spore style.
It would be nice if the build box was a little bigger, and I think allowing players to create scenarios and stuff would be an amazing addition if the developers ever want to pursue it.
Yea, great little game, having a way to build a community around it through custom levels or adding parts or something would be huge.
The game is really fun and there are many things you can do. But I didn't manage to get into the mod maps. I do recommend to get the game if you are thinking that the game sounds fun then I think you should get it.
Love the whimsy, aesthetic, humorous look and style of the game. Hate that you eventually need a degree in mechanical engineering to get anything built and accomplished in a reasonable amount of time. Initially its fun, and you can use your basic life experience and knowledge of various machines and vehicles to guide your build choices. Later, building things of necessity turns into a hugely tedious, tiring, grinding, slog fest that just sucks the fun out of the game, to the point that the challenge becomes more of a nearly insurmountable chore. Informative and inspirational tutorials on how to use the various items in the game would have gone a long way to help make the experience better. Having to reposition the camera with the mouse on a regular basis also gets to be a pita.
Anyway, I got my $4 of on sale fun out of the game. Yet, I feel like someone needs to be paying me for as hard as I have to work to get things done without that degree in mechanical engineering. What I thought was going to be a leisurely fun puzzle game became a lot more work than I expected or wanted.
The only questions I missed on the ASVAB were all engineering related.
I'd still miss all of those questions but it's really fun seeing just how wrong I am when my machines explode
Working hours to make a super machine?
No thanks I'm just going to get a workshop item
Ill be honest at first i wanted to give this game a chance however when i started it there were massive flaws that i can not protect. The camera is way too funky and is too complicated and always moves away from what your focused on in your build. The building mechanics overall are way too complicated and the steam workshop items i have are broken and are not the way they should be. Overall this game has potential however the overall aspect and the building promises of this is way too complex and is too much for me to understand this is game would be good for you if you are intrested in a more building related game however as someone who tried and give this game a chance i honestly can not recommend this. As well the game feels not complete and it feels development has halted completely on this and this game feels just half baked overall.
This is one of the more intersting games that i've played, its not exactly high block count friendly, but what physics do exist add heavily to the game, even if it adds heavily to your GPU/CPU usage,
You can do a lot in this game, if you want to build ships, there's it's expansion or sea mods, if you want to build tanks, there's an advanced building mode for tracks, if you want to build planes, there's propeller blocks, and so on.
the campaign is a good puzzle at times, though not much to comment on, i kinda just like messing around building tanks and using some mods, neat game, loved by the devs still after so many years of it's existance :3
One of the best game ever made 10/10. Just a fun ride, 18 hours to complete the base game. Also one of the most relaxing games.
I'm writing this review just to make sure it stays as overwhelmingly positive
have good phisics and crash phisics. but i didint figure out how to turn the engines on in a plane.
Build an intricate machine that, when combined with a brilliant physics model, obliterates thousands of birds.
Compared to other building games, this one lacks a submersible story. In return you get a slightly more realistic physics engine to play with, a good trade-off in my opinion.
Absolutely worth every penny, even at full price. Beautifully innovative and very well taken care of by the devs.
people joke about DLCs on awards, but if I could nominate this game's DLC for game of the year, I surely would have. I have to admit, it is the most fun I've had this year.
Great game with endless possibilities that is still being updated almost 10 years after release.
when i get the planemod its not loading for example i get the plane mod its not showing in the mod part which is in top right
It´s super fun to try out mad engineering concepts and to be surprised when they sometimes actually work!
Great game. Unlimited potential for creativity.
Thankfully developers started adding new stuff
Cool game about building machines and solving obsticles.
Visually very nice as well!
it's fun. campaign is hard at times, but just building random vehicles in sandbox is so satisfying, as can be seen by my nearly 300 hours, most of which are in Sandbox.
Fantastic game with near limitless possibilities. You can build any kind of war-machine — a tiny bomb cart to a mechanical monstrosity. There are lots of unique blocks and building tools to play around with, not to mention the fact that everything is physics-based! The workshop has thousands of user-created levels and machines, which makes the game endlessly replayable. I definitely recommend this game and its DLC.
This games scratches an engineering itch in me, it was the main reason I decided to pursue mechanical engineering
This game doesn't make sense.
I haven't been playing for a long time , when I came back to the game I've saw that's why I quit it.
I like puzzles in some way , but I don't like the way it's done , especially the hints. Do I want to check out YT? No, I don't

Its really good and realistic u can make bassicly whatever u want! you should probley get this!
Amazing, aside from campaign it is a very fun physics engine with great mod support.
Lots of creative freedom despite the appearance of a lack of objects. Test the limits of your creativity pretty much
A machine building puzzle game, where some levels are actual puzzles, but most are you just trying to kill everyone and everything on the map with whatever strange abomination you created. Can get surprisingly challenging later in the game. Pretty fun time.
Use your elementary level engineering skills to create an auto-loading spike cannon with side mounted rockets that also has grappling hook capabilities and and auxillary flight mode for emergencies. Now figure out how to make the controls at least remotely useable and destroy the plywood windmill in front of you.
Epic game, almost impossible to play without the bad piggies theme (when you have no mods of course)
It is a great game, I like blowing things up and running over small towns with a nuke on wheels.
Time flies by when creating and problem solving. Loads of fun!
I played this for 25 hours in 2 days and its a addicting but yet very inacurate and buggy and u cant build anything what moves in a straight line towards it will allways bend to some direction which is not forward, thus rotate and no matter how hard u try... it come so far... IN THE ENDDD IT DOESNT EVEN MMAATTTEEEEERR
At some point i became not able to save my structures, i hear the sound of the button but nothing appears and it does not ask if i want to rewrite this allready existing save
it bugs out constnaly when it comes to triggers and its not just me me w my friend litterally saw like when at mines his buildning with triggers works and all timers start but on him when he copies it dont but for him it seems like timers on my copy of his build dont start neither but for me they show like they allready ticking, we saw that on a screen cast
and theres another ton of limitations which prohibit u from building more complicated builds like walking structures like even a walking bug like creature is cannot be built without using a ton of mods to value the weight of each paw and hinge because otherwise everyhting will tight its self into a knot and eventually collapse becasue how steering hinge and other stuff works, and u cannot fix it just by adjusting values even if remove any limits from it. Ofcourse technicly u r able to build a walking structure in vanila but i dont think it will be able to carry any weight at all
page with modded blocks is sometimes unable and button for it marked like its allready pressed
font in ingaame settings for information about advanced building button is written on bugged out font which look more like alien langauge and im very doubfull that its a feature
a lot of times u have to rebind the exact same keys because game for some reason stop detecting them and it spreads onto text ones and gud luck figuring this out on ur own when ur mechanism doesnt work
timers frequently (maybe only in multiplayer) have a significant delay which breaks the sequence, i mean the emulation starts later then timers so for example if i tie a rotation to it timer will start allready but rotation will start with some delay, including if this timer is connected to some other timer, theres a lot of issues with timers such as timer sequence less then 0.12~ wont work at all the loop wont repeat it self they will end some how which doesnt make any sense. I repeat, the all the other timer settings r exact same, the only things im tweakin i "wait" and "emulation duration"
Symmetry tool is extremelly unreliable because it constantly messes the symmetry up and thus de syncronysing at first so next u select an item in wont be selected from other sides, and it will break it for example if u will rotate multiple objects in x _ z symmetry the other side will be just displaced. Or lets talk about Surface block, u cannot syncronyzie it in any mode one of edges or other points will stick to something else eventually completelly desynchronazing, or sometimes just moving items like simple wooden block u can notics it dosnt just mirror the transform, it places it from scratch using somekind of ray so if its covered even slightly the block from other side will be placed on top of what ever it covers, and i mean like a tiny bit of brace for example, and other stuff which normally wouldnt block if u would plaace it manually. There fore this tool not saving time but being a trap which looks like it will but actually can break the whole mechanism and eventually waste ur time
I like the art style, the sound, the whole idea of the game, but for some reason I just didn't have fun. I think I was kinda expecting the old Incredible Machine style of limited number of parts to complete a level, whereas the game is more whacky creativity.
Too little levels and most of them were just straight up puzzles and not even attacking things,I don't mind a puzzle but their are a lot of them and every puzzle level is difficult and every attacking level is easy. I really wish their were more bigger fighting levels where the enemy had more but you had more room to build.
But this game is too fun to give a negative, i just think the levels could have been better
Pretty nice game. Nice amounts of things to do. I personaly didnt understand sandbox and level editor in the beggining like with the maps and stuff but eventually i got it. Machine downloading is pretty easy. But for the rest really fun game!
This game is legitimately so good. It was on sale initially for $4 so I got the game and the DLC splintered seas for $10- Best ten bucks I've ever spent, and I am extremely picky when it comes to video games. When I write reviews I try to include "The good, the bad, and the ugly" so here goes:
The good: Game is an engineering puzzle solver- unique to say the least, you build machinery and vehicles of any kind to beat levels, which can be a puzzle to solve, a village to destroy, a castle to knock down, an army to slay... a hurricane to battle... so on and so on. It is based on the unreal physics engine, so physics are close to real-world physics, meaning even wind is a factor you must consider when building flying contraptions or sail boats. The versatility of the mechanisms enables you to build just about anything you can imagine, to the point I learned how to build a "swashplate" simply so I could design helicopters, a surprisingly simple yet complex concept. I now have the knowledge of how helicopters fly, and could build one with the right parts IRL. If that isn't a cool thing to learn I don't know what is! Once you figure out flight, building a flying model dragon to burn down villages is quite doable, among many other contraptions that use the air, sea, and land.
The bad- My only qualms with this game involve how you can skip levels without realizing it. Not a huge deal, but annoying for completionists when you don't keep track of which zones you've defeated.
The Ugly: Not too much to say here, the only "ugly" aspect I found was that the soldiers had very limited movements. Even so, the simulation still felt challenging enough when faced with entire armies, even if they move like stiff action figures. Despite the NPC's being super stiff, graphics are simplistic and beautiful overall, giving a nice, clean engineering experience.
It's a very specific game, which looks interesting at the first sight, but is not really funny. Unexplained mechanics and different zones, meh. Not my kind of game.
