Very fun
الساحل المفقود
It's a cool, really quick little cut part for Half Life 2.
It's fun for a short experience, but it doesn't have much content to it. Which makes sense because it's just cut out content from the main game.
I'd give it a try just for fun though (And also if you're desperate for more Half Life stuff).
funny crowbar man game 2: Lost Coast
A tech demo, displaying half lifes and valves work with graphics and etc. for a tech demo, and for a 20 year old game, its peak.
Very HDR.
this is the first half life game i have fully beat,
anyways good game
just a demo but fun tho
wish they had an achievement for completing or something
This is just a tech demo preview for HL2, where you go through a short map fighting some enemies. It's not bad, but content empty. There's a reason why this was delisted.
Secert side adventure! The Fisherman helps the Freedomman! Gorten must kill more of the space soilders as he liberates the brand new EPIC LIGHTING CHURCH!!! and then he leaves...
Old and unfinished.
Classic Valve, don't expect anything good.
It's buggy and there is no game play. No soundtrack or anything.
Lost my coast. 10/10
Why do we need HL3 when we have Half-Life 2: Lost Coast?
honestly a really charming dev tour of half life, pretty fun too fr!
Pretty fun bite-sized game, although you'll likely not touch it past a first (maybe second) playthrough.
Half-Life 2: Lost Coast is a cool tech demo for Half-Life 2. It shows off some new improvements, like High Dynamic Range Lighting, which makes the game look even better. It also adds fun extras, like developer commentary that explains how the game was made, a new map to explore, and a new character called the fisherman. These things make it interesting for those who want more Half-Life content.
However, the biggest problem with Lost Coast is how short it is. You can finish it in just a few minutes, which feels disappointing.
Overall, Lost Coast is a nice addition for fans who want to see some extra Half-Life 2 features. It’s not a must-play, but it’s fun for what it is. Just don’t expect too much because of how short it is.
are you really wanna know?
Just an excellent stand-alone level
Captured a Source engine spirit inside a model and ran the game for more than a year, after which some black umbrella-wielding G-Man model with some scary sounds flew down and started chasing me even while I no-clipped. 9/10.
My friend who i play CS:GO with said if i post a review on this game and it gets 200 likes and 200 awards that he will buy me a RTX 3060 and 2 kilos of canned ham. So i'm just gonna leave this here. Help a brotha
this game single handley brought me into valve games and i love that
ist toooooooooo short..

Half-Life 2: Lost Coast is a nerd’s dream. I don’t even know where to start with this masterpiece because it’s so much more than just a game—it’s a second life. No, seriously. Half-Life 2: Lost Coast is the ultimate nerdy science fiction adventure, a massive sandbox filled with endless opportunities for exploration, creativity, and (of course) puzzle solving. And the best part? The sheer depth of the world, the lore, and the freedom to do absolutely anything you want. It’s a dream come true for any player who loves getting lost in a detailed, living, breathing universe.
The sheer freedom in how you can approach everything is insane. Want to be a sneaky scientist, lurking in the shadows, silently taking out your enemies one by one? You can do that. Want to take on a full-on tank build with armor and two massive guns, smashing through anything in your path? Also possible. Or maybe you’re more of the engineer type, solving environmental puzzles and making traps? Yeah, you can definitely do that too. The ability to specialize your character however you want, down to the perks, gives you a level of customization that I’ve never experienced before. Every time you level up, it feels like a mini Christmas, getting to choose between new abilities that completely alter how you tackle the world. You’ll feel like you’re unlocking new powers every time you hit that level-up screen.
Let’s talk about the lore. If you’re the type of player who gets obsessed with deep world-building and history, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast is a literal goldmine. Every broken down, abandoned building, every journal entry, every random NPC conversation… it’s all part of this vast narrative web that pulls you deeper and deeper into the story. I’ve spent hours just analyzing the environmental storytelling in the game, piecing together the histories of the various factions, the Combine, and the forgotten military outposts scattered across the map. It’s like every corner of Lost Coast has something new for you to discover, and each discovery feels rewarding. The best part? None of it is ever forced on you. You don’t have to read or engage in every little story, but if you do? You’re rewarded with this rich, immersive world that feels lived in.
Combat in Half-Life 2: Lost Coast is satisfying, and there are so many ways to approach it. Sure, you can spam shotguns and watch enemies explode into a fiery mess, but there’s a certain thrill in sneaking up behind an enemy and landing a perfect headshot with a pistol. Or, if you’re like me, you’ll spend hours perfecting your grenade throws, pulling off precise shots with the perfect weapon setup. There’s just something so fun about seeing enemies scattered across the environment after a well-timed shot. And don’t even get me started on physics puzzles—using the gravity gun to manipulate objects and create new paths? YES, PLEASE.
If you’re into modding, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast is the ultimate playground. I can’t even count how many times I’ve gone down a mod rabbit hole, tweaking everything from textures to adding new levels. The modding community for this game is insane, and the best part is how modders keep the game alive with new content years after its release. I’ve got mods that add new locations to explore, new enemies to fight, and even new ways to play. The flexibility in how you can customize the game makes every playthrough feel fresh and new, no matter how many times you’ve done it.
All in all, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast isn’t just a game—it’s a nerdy universe where the possibilities are endless. The world is rich, the lore is deep, and the freedom to create the character you want to be makes it one of the most immersive experiences out there. Sure, you could blast through the main story and be done in 30 hours, but if you’re like me, you’ll end up spending hundreds of hours just enjoying the little details, finding new locations, and perfecting your combat strategy. There’s truly no other game quite like it, and honestly, if you haven’t played it yet, what are you even doing with your life?
This was visually stunning, engaging and relaxing at a time. Totally worth it!
lubbers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its physically stunning and the developer commentary is nice to listen to while mowing down combine. Its a nice little package with its own small story and nice map. I really hope the chapter is revisited in some form in the future, because both the church and the rest of the island would be a great backdrop id think
it is ok
This is an additional level for Half-Life 2 that was cut during its development. Even though it's short, this level contains several minor story details that are a bit interesting. Anyway, this is mainly a tech demo that showcases the HDR rendering capabilities of the Source Engine. Overall, it's an interesting level.
it literally says in the description its a tech demo its not a full game
i like it
The half-life 2 lost coast is strange.
good
Nothing much to say here honestly. It's just a short tech demo to show off lighting. It only lasts 10 minutes and is all too brief. Still good for what it is and you get it for free by buying HL2.
Sucks that this kind old fisherman is stuck forever in this weird limbo.
good half life spinoff. kinda short tho but its still good!
What can I say. Its a tech demo that last 10 mins if even that. Thats all folks. 1/5
Good game but keeps crashing after shooting down the last chopper and walking the planks on the scaffolding...odd!
Memories, greatness, and pure fun
Nagyon jó.
cool i guess
This is a good game because its literally just more Half-Life 2 but for some reason on the legacy version I get an error saying: Unable to load manifest file 'scripts/game_sounds_manifest.txt' Any fix to this?
ถึงจะเป็นเกมที่สั้นๆ แต่มันก็สั้นๆจริงๆ อย่างน้อยก็ได้ยิง Combine ขอบคุณครับ
gud
good
This game is one of my top games. The most emotional game ive played in years truely. The begining was so joyfull and playfull but the game becomes darker every step unfortunetly its the end that really hits me in the heart it made me shed a tear...
10/10 Would reccomend.
Only play if youre ready to cry ;(
Lost-
its so sad that when the guy when we meet him at the end then he invites us over to a feast but then we the player dissapear
While it is a short gameplay segment that was cut from the main Half-Life 2 campaign its still a fun shooting spree.
