The game was probably great on console, but it has several game-breaking bugs on PC. Ironically, the WORSE the computer you play it on, the better it will run.
Pros:
- More detailed story
- Some characters and their past counterparts are not available in OPPW 4
- Easier controls
Cons:
- VERY BUGGY (I personally need to read the community a lot how to successfully start some stages) --> this make me not wanna recommend this game.
- Many coins are RNG-based unlockables
- It is kind of fun until you need to unlock the WHOLE GALLERY which needs you to increase your crew level with characters that I CAN'T EVEN CONTROL damn.

gosh i love this game so much like js being able to defeat bosses as nami
played for more than 2 hours, no problem. the BUGS occurred AFTER 2 hours of gameplay (Alabasta Arc).
tried to replay it a few times to get rid of the bug. Failed
tried to refund it. Failed
every time i save the game it just start new when i play with no saving data at all
How do I save my progress? I tried and searched, but I didn’t know. Please, I want someone to teach me.
Just get it during the Christmas sale, the whole bundle was just $5 so i didn't think/check too much. Strongly advise not to buy this one because you might go through the first one or two chapter quite smooth and once you reached Alabama Ch.2, at that point you might already played more than 2 hours that not able to refund, the game just keep crashing and that is so frustrating. Changing resolution to this setting / that setting? I tried. Just save your time, delete this and get refund until it is too late.
KOEI TECMO GAMES CO., LTD. and BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment might think this game old and they already published 4 so need not to patch and fix this bug. But this Non Japanese "Takumi" spirit and attitude made me at least think twice and wait until very cheap discount(to cover the upcoming disappointment) from now on for all Koei and Bandai establishment.

The game play itself is really fun, but the things that should be considered are:
1. Control issue from the main menu to entering a map, it's horrible
2. Crash on certain stage at preparation menu or when you on the map (you have to lower the settings to the lowest to be able to play the stage)
I wouldn't recommend to buy it on Steam (or any PC platform maybe?). If you want to play this game, play it on console or just don't play it.
Spent 111 hours on this game with the bad port to PC only because the 100% achievement
So far at least 3 story mission will crash at some point and then you must run it as administrator in order not to crash a game but then the game won t recognize your controller
One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 - an absolute blast!
The vibrant graphics and dynamic gameplay perfectly capture the essence of the series. I love how each character feels unique, and the over-the-top action keeps me coming back for more. Plus, the story mode is a joy for any One Piece fan.
If you're looking for a fun, engaging brawler that celebrates the world of One Piece (albeit in 3D graphics), this game is a must-play!

5 dollars on sale is a steal but it has contoller issues. You want to get the most used community layout, edit that community layout, remap the RB button to the letter O, and then double check the remapped controls in the game settings. When you map your controls with the edited community layout, it will show keyboard bindings now, don't worry about that, its normal. You will also want to configure the camera controls to the right analogue stick. You have now have a fully functional Pirate Warriors 3, that even uses the correct buttons in the menu.

Thankfully Steam has refund option, so there I will go.
100000 enemies slain, lots of characters, level up, hack n slash.
Don't buy this junk, the controller layouts for certain gamepads are actually all over the place because the devs didn't give a damn, making the game unplayable.
Absolutely horrid pc port, crashed on me four times, no antialiasing, vsync, proper resolution support, framerate settings broken, horrible mouse and keyboard support as well as controller support. It's falsely advertised as the way more good-looking and functional PS4 version when it's based on the PS3 version of the game, the steam card logo for it was clearly done in like 2 seconds with photoshop, LOD is horrible and things phase in and out of existence, they removed online co-op that was present in console and it's probably full of many other issues that I haven't even encountered.
But its fun and better than PW4 so go play it right now :DD
just terrible. as expected from bandai namco, its a cheap cashgrab port that barely works. Do NOT buy this if you want to use mouse & keyboard.
This is a god awful port of a game. I shouldn't have to fix a game myself to play it the way it is supposed to be played.

I liked it the first 90 hours, the other 6 not so much as it started to crash every now and then for whatever reason upon playing it on better hardware. Very high replay value and would recommend just to kill time.
i thought this was pretty crummy
do not be like me, naive and simpleminded fool that i am who bought this game because Yay ! Cool 👍One Piece Game On Sale! and also to take screenshots up zoro's DLC kimono. this pc port is practically unplayable with all its bugs, resetting keybinds, crashes, black screens, and forcefully jumping back to the main menu. perhaps this is retribution for my crimes, though, because it IS fun when its not crashing or trying to make you memorize the main menu screen every time you try to open a god damn episode, but for now getting past chapter 4 is literally impossible despite all the work arounds the community has posted because bandai cant be fucked to fix a 6 year old bug
there's been a bug from 2018/2019 until now and it never get fix at all. During the submit battle and conclusion war, the game either keep crash, or black screen, or keep going to main menu. Those people recommend to put on lower resolution and all bullshit it never work at all

I really loved this game despite some minor bugs, visual errors and some crashes.
The game is really flashy, and the cast is really good for a One Piece Fan. The characters diversity of powers is there, so you can paly with different styles and have fun.
Too bad some of these characters were removed from Pirate Warriors 4...

I loved this game, played it years ago, but I can't recommend this because IT KEEPS SENDING ME TO THE MAIN SCREEN, I tried numerous of "solves" nothing worked

A terrible optimized port of a very great game.
I would recommend PW3 over PW4 since there are more pre-timeskip characters that were removed in it's sequel and goes through more of the whole story by comparison. But the fact that the full screen doesn't work and the native controller compatibility does not work at all. I recommend getting the console version of this game instead.
Terrible port, game crashes, freezes and send you back to the main screen.
I regret buying it, I bought it because I played the first one when i was a kid and freaking love it, but this one is such a bore. The main reason is because of how glitchy it is, I cant even play the dream log, the screen appear glitchy and then just turn white.
And the story mode gameplay is not unique at all, I remember in the first game there is a lot of different mechanics and platforming that you need to solve in order to progress through the story, and the boss fight is so unique. BUT this one is just repetitive as hell.
