This is the first in the Sniper Elite series I have played and love it.
Graphics are stunning and the game-play very addictive.
Bought No.5 on the back of this game.
Great game with on point mechanics. If you shoot an enemy too close to you and the bullet happens to hit the greanade it explodes. the information you get about the people you spot with binoculars really adds to the immersion of this game.
Nothing beats a classic!!! SNIPE R Elite 4 is one of the best games out there.....
TL;DR Fun co-op game, unique semi-open level design, story is trash.
This game has many flaws. The story is awful, the enemies are generic Germans, which is really annoying in a game that advertises itself as taking place on the Italian front, the gun leveling and loadout unlock system feel very out of place, and the semi-open-world style missions take away much of the ability for the developers to create interesting set pieces, since the player can easily do the mission objectives in any order and approach the level from many different angles.
That said, the semi-open levels make this title a very unique experience from the previous games in the series, since any attempt to go guns blazing will not only attract enemy attention from the front, but also lure enemies from behind and from the sides. This makes traps feel both more and less useful, since the paths enemies take are more varied. Still, I always chuckle whenever a mine I planted on the other side of the map and forgotten about randomly gets a kill 5 minutes after I set it.
The co-op, though, is the real fun part of the game. Get a friend, buy them this game for Christmas, and just have fun popping heads. Whether you play it like a stealth game or run through the battlefield shooting everything that moves, you're sure to have a fun time.

Sniper Elite 4 is one of my favourites but I hate to see that the playerbase is not so active like it used to be but there are still people playing which is a good thing.
Campaign Coop is basically dead, Survival Coop is sporadic and sometimes you get players and sometimes you're all alone. I'm not even a master of Multiplayer so I don't know how I keep getting killed by the "veterans" of this game. But I wished people were more active on Coop (Campaign & Survival). And I don't want this series to die. Rebellion don't let it die (from Sniper Elite V2 to the latest Sniper Elite)
Oh and don't forget Sniper Elite V2 Remastered online is basically completely dead.
The pinnacle of the series so far
Lots of room for customization allows you to play stealthily, attempt to go gunz blazing or (if youre better than me) to even make every shot complicated with no hud and wind and distance calculations needing to be done manually
I stand on the ground that this is the best sniper elite in the series. The easier difficulties are easy and the harder ones are truly harder. You can play an arcadey run or something more hardcore, it's up to you. Great graphics, great story and a way to earn permanent upgrades, for your weapon, rather than trade-offs in SE 3&5. Couldn't recommend more.
first time ever playing this series & got it off the steam sales for 80% off. this game is so much fun if you can get a good deal on it. I don't think it is worth $60 but I'm not one to think many single player games are tbh but if you are a fan of the old school desert storm series like i was as a kid you will love this game. get it on sale you won't regret it.
I wish the range system is a bit more realistic. I mean, aiming higher with rifle when target is 35 meters away is a bit unrealistic. It's fine to be honest, but it's kinda funny that you don't need to aim higher at 35 meters when using pistols or even sub machine gun with slower bullets.
Pros:
- Large Open Maps: The levels are massive, giving you tons of freedom to approach objectives your way.

- Co-op Mode
Cons:
- Repetitive Gameplay: Gameplay is fun. But so repetitive. Nearly all missions are same.
- Weak Storytelling: Story is not important in the game.
- Inconsistent AI
- Multiplayer: The multiplayer feels kind of bland. It’s not bad, but there’s nothing unique or exciting to keep
you hooked.
Unfortunately, multiplayer mode is dead because of arrogant players who think they are "veterans" and kick new players from the room
Man this game is really good as hell, i love the killcam animations, you can break your enemies eyes,leg,heart, and even their BALLS.
The graphics is yeah i can say its decent (it makes my pc heating up)
Overall, Sniper Elite 4 is a good game worth the prize.
And not to mention, this game have a dlc where you killed mr square mustache ( i destroyed his balls lol)

I enjoyed the campaign, even if the story was a bit cliche at times. The length doesn't overstay its welcome - if you just focus on essential objectives it's somewhat short, but if you want more there's plenty of optional objectives. Each level feels like a sand box with a good amount of player agency. The gameplay feels satisfying and the graphics still hold up.
Levels continue to grow larger and more intricate as the series progresses, along with consistently satisfying gameplay that features the best kill cams of any game.

Sniper Elite 4 is another game that really drew me in with it's rich storyline. It's one of the standout installments in the Sniper Elite series. The missions are extensive. Although the game is over seven years old, it's still highly enjoyable to play.
It was fun,some multiplayer matches were fun,But i wont come back,theres things lacking in the gameplay and poor gun control and kill shots / bleeding out ,making some injured sholdiers act like its nothing ,After you get the hang of it you can finish it easily in the hard difficulty(realistic is too much for me lmao) Only thing that sucked for me really was the ending with the plane bomb that you have to hit,it took me 3 tries ...
I wont come back to it ever ,its one of those games for me where you only play it once

In exquisite slow motion, track bullet as it travels 120M into skull, then ricochets straight up, taking hat straight off his head with chunks of pink matter and bone. Grunt in primal pleasure. Reload.
This is the good one, they toned down the ridiculously OTT slow motion X Ray bullet cam in the "Strange Brigade" adapted sequel, and also in Zombie Army 4 Dead War. The fact you can get backstories of your targets with binoculars is hilarious as well.
So load it up, enjoy your holiday in sundrenched Italy and go wreck some fascists to their component atoms. In this day and age, can we at least agree Nazi bad? Go ahead, make your day.
Fun SE sequel with more options to do missions how you like. Doesn't give me motion sickness like 3.
The best sniper game money can buy. You can either kill everyone with ease on lowest difficulty or have a real challenge where you start from the beginning of the mission after every death and the enemies are a nightmare. You can even play the campagne coop. 10/10.
I love this series and most about this one, but one major problem. It's extremely frustrating to be shot through the ground, through solid rock, etc etc. I can literally be out of line of sight and still be killed in this game.

Sniper Elite has never been a standout series, but has always been just good simple fun. I'm not sure what it is about 4, but it just misses the mark.
Nice game of cat and mouse. Silent kills, explosive chaos and some forgiving run and gun action. On normal difuculty the aim assist lets you make epic shots.
Probably a good speed run game.
The Sniper Elite games are all great in their own ways. I enjoy these games more than you r typical run and gun shooter. I like creating a strategy and completing things in numbers of different ways. You truly feel alone on the battlefield and have nothing to rely on other than your wit and skill. I recommend this game to any person who loves strategy and precision.

I had such a blast on Sniper Elite 4. Nothing can beat shooting a guy in his nuts and seeing an x-ray of them pop. It was a really fun game. The mechanics in this game in my opinion were beautiful- from all the different weapons, to the throwables, to all the different approaches and things around the map you could use to your advantage when trying to take out soldiers and complete objectives. I honestly had a blast. This game heavily reminds me of Hitman in the way where each mission is like a level and you have many different ways you can approach and complete the mission. It's a great stealth game where primarily you want to be stealthy and smart; but still leaves the door open to go guns blazing. I enjoyed taking my time through every mission, marking and scoping everything out before starting to drop soldiers like flies. I love the WWII setting and theme to the game, it adds realism and some authenticity to the game. As for the story- it is terrible in my opinion. Very bad and they do not focus on the story one bit, mainly on the gameplay. I wish the story was more interesting, there was a lot of potential especially in the WWII setting. The controls were smooth
and great, and graphics were also really good. I have a mid-range PC and was able to run this game at max setting with around 90 FPS (unheard of for me!) so its very well optimized. The AI and enemies are designed well, but they aren't insanely smart. Sometimes they can be very funny. I would say Sniper Elite 4 has a slight learning curve, but it's nothing too insane, and the controls are easy to adjust to. Overall I really enjoyed my experience with Sniper Elite 4 and definitely plan on playing more games in the franchise. Would recommend to anyone to buy it on sale because it could be dirt cheap for a blast.

First sniping game I played, it was quite fun (but NPCs quite dum). Runs 60 FPS on 10w Steam Deck, drops to 45ish in 3rd and 4th missions.
Tip : Disable aim assist for a better experience
Despite the claim of being a multi-player game. There's no co-op online lobby
Cool game for sniper lovers and filthy campers. Main goal: Killing Nazis. If that doesn't get you on board, nothing else will. It's a win for me.

Excelente jogo, focado em gameplay de franco atirador. As armas, com excessão de algumas SMGs, respondem muito bem, a sensação de cada kill (seja com sniper ou corpo a corpo) é extremamente satisfatória. As fases sao variadas e possuem varias maneiras e ordens de serem completadas, o que acrescenta um excelente valor de replay ao jogo. Se tiver promo, comprem sem medo.

Outstanding graphics. This is my primary like for this game.
Being old and slow, I favor a close second, the ability to set difficulty at a level I can learn the game but still enjoy the action provided at that level.
I'd say this one is great. Being a big fan of Sniper Elite series, I can tell you that you just need to wait until like the middle of campaign until you actually start appreciate this game. At some point, I noticed that I simply cannot stop playing Sniper Elite 4 Campaign. It runs well on Steam Deck despite the fact that it was released years prior to SD. Highly recommended.

Better than Sniper Elite 5.
With gameplay that can shock, amuse and satisfy in the same slowed heartbeat, Sniper Elite 4 is the best game in the series. While it graphics, story and characters can feel a little flat, the gameplay has always been the focus, and is so perfectly tuned to make the rest seem inconsequential.
+ Scalable difficulty - for expert marksman or those who just want a fun FPS with a twist
+ Large maps, plenty to do and experiment
- while I understand for gameplay reasons, having enemies not react to some nearby gunfire felt weird
+ game runs smoothly
Parental guide: graphic violence, especially killcam (both rifle and melee) which can be disabled. Can't remember any profanity.
This should be a really fun game. I'm a big fan of the series, and the non-linear, open-world style of the missions in this iteration are great.
Unfortunately, the various bugs (most notably the generator bug) which seems to have existed since launch and has never been resolved take a huge amount of fun from the game, and replaces it with frustration.
