Spirits of Xanadu is an atmospheric exploration game set aboard a deserted starship in an alternate 1980s. It draws inspiration from classic sci-fi films, novels, and games to create an immersive and highly interactive environment, featuring puzzles and FPS elements in the service of a unique and layered plot.

You have one primary objective: Return the Xanadu back to Earth. There are no objective markers, you have no map, and the ship has been sabotaged. You begin your mission with only a flashlight and a message from your superiors back on Earth, the rest you'll have to figure out on your own. - Hot robot action with first person shooter combat
Evade the ship's security system while battling hostile robots. - Fully interactive environment
Inspired by the immersive environments of games such as Deus Ex and System Shock 2: Open every drawer, use every computer, and read every document you find. More importantly, you can flush every toilet. - Optional 'Peaceful' mode
Not a fan of violence against robots? Switch to the Peaceful difficulty setting in the options menu to make the robots passive, allowing you to explore the ship, experience the story, and solve puzzles at your own pace.

Spirits of Xanadu is a short and sweet simple game that plays like a very simplified System Shock 1. The atmosphere is surprisingly effective for the simplistic graphics, the attention to detail and environmental interactivity is very commendable, and there are a fair few secrets jam packed into the experience. It's a game that I feel I've thoroughly experienced (at just around 3 hours), so it's a very short experience. The first playthrough probably took me about an hour and a half, with subsequent playthroughs being much shorter. An enjoyable short experience that certainly reads like a simple love letter to the masterpieces of old. As long as you keep your expectations in check, I think fans of the first person immersive sim genre will be pleased.

1. The game has a lot more immersive sim elements compared to "horror FPS" or whatever;
2. Finished it while trying to explore as much of the ship as possible in an hour and a half. It is somewhat replayable / speedrunable;
Overall I really do recommend this. Would I have paid 5 euros for it? maybe not (even though it's still really cheap), but at 1,24? it's a steal and I highly recommend it if you're a fan of immsims
This should be on roblox. Do yourself a favor and play dead space instead.
