I little hard starting, figuring out how to create and repair.

Savage lands is a dead and forgotten game that will never leave beta with horrendous pacing and bosses that took four guides and 3 hours just to get to spawn in... Despite this Savage lands is quite possibly one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had playing video games. Loading up into a world with a friend for the first time (which btw is remarkably seamless) only to laugh at this games.. oddities, whilst we run around completely clueless cause there is practically no tutorial and no guide is honestly a blast and it continues to be fun as you run into the first boss a slightly larger than average skeleton with flames who we named gruk as a joke, a joke that only got funnier as we played running into gruks first cousin (twice removed) who via some assortment of recessive alleles featured a shockingly different appearance (aka the flames were a different colour).

I could go on and on about gruks entire family tree but honestly I think you get the point. Is it a conventionally good game? not in the slightest but for 5 NZD I got 8 hours of fun something that cant be said for half the triple A games I buy nowadays so yes I would recommend this game and Im still praying for the solo dev to make a both shocking and suprising reappearance and finish this mess.

Its so bad its good! treat it as you would getting fast food on a late night with friends after work. I wouldnt go so far as saying as it will be a cult classic but its more in line of watching a cheap 80s slasher flick..... made in Italy.....

Do not buy this. It was dead 10 years ago on arrival.

I’ve had this game in my library for a long time, and every now and then, I try to give it another chance. But honestly, every time I do, I end up frustrated and quitting.



Let’s talk about why.

1. Controls: They feel clunky and unresponsive, making even basic movement a chore.

2. Combat: The combat system is unpolished and lacks any sense of satisfaction or strategy.

3. Crafting: While crafting is an important part of the game, the system feels unnecessarily complicated.

4. No Search Feature: One of the most frustrating aspects is trying to find what you want to craft. Without a search bar, you spend too much time scrolling through menus, which ruins the flow of the game.



I really wanted to enjoy this game, but these issues make it hard to stick with it. I hope the developers take feedback like this into consideration for future updates or projects.

I got this game when it first came out. It was a lot of fun. The updates and changes were great. It is now a completely different kind of game than when it started. Which is still great. The Dev's put a lot of time and love in it. Thanks

I assume this game never took off, another early access game that weathered away on the vines?

This game had a lot of potential years ago, but has been abandoned. It's for a little, but not a complete game.

[[[ BEWARE ]]] ABANDONED GAME !!!

The reason for me revisiting this title was because I wanted to see if I was able to get all achievements.
The game has a lot of flaws I'm willing to overlook purely to get the achievements.
What I mean by flaws:
-The jumping and trying to climb are JANK as hell. It feels like getting stuck on walls like spiderman but not in the good way.
-The lack of structures and POI's on the first island (SNOWMERE).
-Some graphical glitches or rather not very polished textures.

So when I was strong enough to go to the second Island, that's when I realized that this game is a lot larger as expected and has a variaty of things to do.
Rebuild structures, Scavange for supplys & Lore, Battle enemy's to gather stronger equipment and figure out the crafting system.

At first I did not want to recommend this game becouse it no longer is in development and the studio no longer existing. However, having played it for about 6 hours in one sitting, I'm confident to say there is enough here for you and friends to enjoy.
From what I can gather is you're able to host a server in order to play with others even though the game is no longer supported by the studio.
If it is on sale for a couple bucks, you might have a nice adventure and enjoy the scenery of Savage lands.

Played the game, beat the game. It has an ending and content in-between. Would it benefit from more content? Yes, as of now dungeons are scarce and there are locations that feel unfinished. The game world is very atmospheric, with lots of things to explore, combat is akin to Skyrim where you just stat check enemies or cheese their ai. Plenty of "quests" you can find from reading notes or books that will explain the location of areas that are easily missed or secret. enemy variety could be better, and bosses are just stat checks like every other enemy. Devs might have abandoned the game, still plenty of content to enjoy but you will be walking a lot considering that most dungeons and structures are far away from each other

Abandonware save your money and go checkout Aska and or Valheim.

This is long abandoned. Don't buy even at $4. Not worth it.

With the lack of update this game I say like many has been abandonned.
And there are plenty of better game maybe a bit more expensive but with more content and more optimized with current updates and follow up

This Game, i really really liked, it has its charm, it is fun and unique and even at this point i like it, a shame it has not been further developed at some point

Probably the worst early access scam I've come across. Devs held lots of streams and made huge promises, but it was as if no actual development ever happened, it was all just ambitious talk and pretending

Easily one of the worst games i've played, and i assure you i have no intention to insult the developer, i think it could reach a point where it could be a 10 bucks indie game if they worked not that much on it. It's just not worth investing time on it as it currently is.

The lore is kiiind of enjoyable but not enough to overcome how horribly tedious to say the least, most other things are. The skybox is quite pretty, the map distribution is not bad at all buut you can go through almost 1/3 of it's rocks and even some terrain so... keeping in mind that there is no save button, or load, or even a savegame in a folder... if you want to prevent losing all your save due to a bugg, or falling through the map, or other reason where you can lose the game (which didn't happen to me but i know that it does happen sometimes) and not only that, but items can also go through a few sections of the map, soo... well it just sucks, it's cool that if you drop something and then close and open the game again it's still there... but what about the stuff u dont want? you have a trash bin... that just gets full and all the sh1t you throw into it just piles up forever, you cant even recycle any of it.

The inventory is... simply put: made to get the worst out of you, buggy, annoying, super clunky, half the images are re-used when they are wildly different ie water - tier 2 potion... im not even gonna get into it, i swear is horrible, it cannot be called inventory system.

Graphics in general are low, not horrible, just simple, put not to the point of being hurtful, the designs in general are pretty solid, even the overacted death animations, some of them are hilarious xD, but the sound... is horrible, sometimes half the stuff sounds more to the right cuz you are using your right hand... but you are hitting a tree in front of you! the sound you make while you eat or you are panting... it is unnerving to me x)

In general the stats, specially stamina, dmg-armour, etc just sucks, either you are almost oneshoted or you are immortal, and its absolutely dependant of your equipment, which makes sense, BUT it doesn't when between materials it barely improves in duration, it gets to that horrible point where you lose your stuff when you die and either you have at least one semi-average armour to just be able to get to your body or it will be quite annoying getting your stuff back.

There are soo many other complete wrecks in this game that im just not gonna mention, if you are curious watch a video, im against that, i normally would say hey its just 4 bucks go check it out, but not in this case, not even in a discount, hell with that "inventory" and stamina system not even for free.
