Vary fun game with dozens of hours of content.
What can I say, in the last few months I've played this game more than any sane person ever could. And through it all, the moments of both glory and abject failure, I can honestly say I've found a new appreciation for BTD5 as a whole. There is nearly an endless amount of challenge and entertainment packed into this simple game, and as much as BTD6 managed to improve, the 5th game isn't worth forgetting.
Bloonchipper proved me wrong, even after playing BTD6 as my first Bloons game. Anyways, better late than never.
Long time Bloons player here, After intially playing the intial flash games, BTD5 is just a straight up ultimate edition of all those with lots of maps and lots of content, when i mean lots, i mean lots and lots of maps with different modes.

Towers
Random & Special Missions
Dislike:
May feel monotonous if trying to 100% the game and the in game currency, once everything is purchased is of little use apart from reviving a lost game.
Highly recommended for Tower Defense games fans. Have a popstatic time!

Miniclip introduced me to this game, my money led me to enjoying it again.

It's a retro tower defense game, nothing not to love except for a few exploits and missions. I'm astonished they still give this game updates. Check in every few months, there should be something new.
getting all upgrades and stuff is grindy but the gamepley is a 9/10
very good game. lots of fun but also has some complexity to it which aids in the games longevity. the only complaint i have is that the leveling up takes a while making it difficult for more casual players to enjoy the full game. but that is a small complaint.
lost all my progress due to computer crash, but thats a great game, and a tip for y'all:USE THE FUCKING CLOUD SAVE, don't be dumb like me. (=

This game did not disappoint. The first game from NK that I've ever played was btd battles, and this game is very similar. You also have the same freedom to choose the difficulty and map, just like btd 6. The graphics were super nostalgic and I love that they still update this game. NK, you are my favorite company of video games, especially because your slogan is more awesomer. Thank you so much for everything you have done for the boons community.
My personal favourite bloons game. BTD Battles is also very good. Still fun to play after so many years

btd5 is just the best one
absolute classic. everyone has either played this, or the spinoff bloons games (btd battles and bmc). i prefer it more than btd 6 tbh, it's that good
I missed playing this game on my school laptop in class, and couldnt find it anywhere on the web to play for free at school, and went for years without this game. After i found it on steam, i knew i had to buy it when i could afford it. so when i could afford it, bought it again, played it, and fell in love with it all over again.
Playing this in grade 4 and 5 on an elementary school desktop will forever cement this game as one of my favorite games off all time. The sheer bliss of recesses featuring monkeys and balloons will never be forgotten. Thank you NinjaKiwi.
If you're a veteran of the mobile version, then this will be very familiar - but the biggest issue for me (and the reason I'm returning it) is that there's no way to transfer your mobile status to Steam status, so you'll have to start again, and you can't flip between desktop and mobile using cloud saves as you go. I've been playing for 8 years and have maxxed out - I'm not doing that again, so I'll just stick to my android version thanks.
Not recommending it purely as to do so would mean losing my progress over the years.
It's a great game to kill time (and balloons). F--- those balloons.
Absolute best 2D tower defense game, endless replayabillity, great soundtrack, no frustration because co-op players don't hate you, you can alt+f4 when you have no lives for your save file to not be overwritten, no excessive DRM and pay to win micro transactions. Therefore better than Bloons TD 6. Just don't buy lab upgrades because you can't disable each until maximum level.

I've always preferred this one over TD6 tbh, but I'm probably one of the few people who hold this opinion.
Sometimes you just want to watch the bloons go around and around. Amazing game.
A good game overall and I think that other people should give it a try even if they don't like tower defense games. Good stuff Ninja Kiwi. You've earned another customer
As someone who has played over the years, this is The perfect casual TD. Pure nostalgia.
There are a few things I feel are missing, such as:
Auto-start in CO-OP (or just more CO-OP features in general)
BTD5 Deluxe Content
An option to use the flash artstyle
But I'm not counting on anything being added besides the occasional new map every few months.
Also, don't buy the console version. It's basically abandonware and is quite outdated. (The only advantages are Couch CO-OP and a nice interface)

Game is complex, but not too complex like BTD6 is.
I've owned this on mobile for a long time. It's a great game. Even if you already own its successor, it's worth a buy.
I remember playing the web version on school computers all day long, and it absolutely demolished those computers. It was a thing of beauty to see the entire screen filled with darts, plasma balls, lasers and razors.
Nowadays your PC will probably be able to reach this high level of play without dropping frames. And it's still amazing to see.
Too buggy, mouse pointer stuck as long as you press any key. Tried to run the game in windows mode but in vain.

A timeless classic far ahead of its time upon release, a ton of content but slightly outdated in my opinion nowadays.
While neglecting to include an auto-start option in co-op is alone an offense worthy of a negative review and a boycott, the game is still fun to play with or without your full attention.

Fun game for downtime! Takes a bit to unlock the good stuff but once unlocked...super fun for a quick game.
solid tower defense, i would recommend bloons td 6 before this because there's definitely more variety in how you can play that game over this one.
monke pop bloon and get stronger while doing it. hard mode lives up to its name tho
