absolutely horrible game but i cant stop playing it
game is fucking ass u will get white hair. there is a reason it is dead
Steam is so much better than Ubisoft Client, like holy bro. Game is highly demanding in mentality since you need to read other players moves, as easy as that could sound to most people, it ain't. Gotta be a different breed or built different if you wanna win matches. A warrior. A man. (heada**)
I just don't know what to do. Whenever I play a game of any mode, the objective is always unclear. Do I just kill other players? A bit of text in the corner telling me what to do (in multiplayer mode) would be useful. Also, I die a lot and I only get about 1 kill per match, which is not fun. I completed the battle tutorial twice and still nothing. I tried to complete the second level of the single player campaign but it just keeps telling me to capture zones and does not capture them when I enter them. Campaign is unplayable and multiplayer is confusing.
worst game ever. i have 900+ hours on console. please add cross-prog
I have over 1,000 hours on Console. This game is one of the most interesting and infuriating all at the same time, I just hope Ubisoft doesn't stop supporting it
shit game honestly, would be nice if there wasnt like one fucking gimmick per character that you spam and win and if you do literally anything else you get steamrolled, go play guitar hero for similar gameplay with less toxicity and frustration
Great game. It isn't for the weak tho. Not hard to learn. There are some characters I'll never use because they're simply broken. But overall, I love this game.
Perhaps the most addictive and rage inducing combat game I've played.
at 9yrs and going, this game is still adding heros to choose from and customize while constantly adjusting balances and movesets to ensure a fairer approach to the battlefield while still keeping to the unique diversity of warriors and fighters across historical eras. that said, the story mode has not been updated to reflect the capabilities in combat as you can in arcade mode or online.
Ive introduced dozens of friends to this game, and the number one barrier is the steep learning curve and familiarizing yourself with the mechanics and movesets.
most matches will consist of watching your character be executed mercilessly over and over again. Others, you'll feel like a god as you cut everyone down. is it brutal and likely to result in broken controllers, tvs, and hatred for living? yes. is it worth it? YES.
the tutorial and ingame guides are terrible and dont explain anything but the basics of combat, watch a utube vid. outside of that the game is great.
Don't know if the matchmaking is so bad because it's an old game and low player base but in 2025 it's too dead to get a nice matchmaking so you'll probably just throw your controller out the window because you are just starting out and you'll get shat on by someone with 4k hours. Otherwise a nice game.
Look, the game is somewhat fun. I've played on and off since the Jormungandr event a while, while back, and it's a unique experience that you can't find anywhere else. But with how Ubisoft's looking at the moment, I cannot advice anyone to spend money to buy the game, or anything inside of it, until we're sure the game has a future beyond Ubi's financial woes. Looking at how they removed The Crew from people's libraries and outright state you don't own their games, there is a risk that For Honor could, in this year or the next, disappear entirely with any purchases you make going into the void with it.
For Honor is a masterpiece of tactical melee combat, a game that sets itself apart from the crowd with its unparalleled depth and innovation. At the heart of the game lies the "Art of Battle" system, a revolutionary control scheme that offers players an unprecedented level of precision and strategy in combat. Unlike traditional hack-and-slash games, For Honor demands mastery of timing, positioning, and reading your opponent’s intentions. Each faction—Knights, Vikings, and Samurai—is lovingly crafted with rich lore, stunning aesthetics, and unique fighting styles that reflect their cultures. Whether wielding the crushing might of a Knight’s flail, the ferocity of a Viking’s axe, or the elegance of a Samurai’s katana, every battle feels meaningful and immersive. The attention to detail in animations, sound design, and weapon physics makes every strike and parry a visceral experience.
The multiplayer experience in For Honor is where the game truly shines, offering intense, adrenaline-fueled battles that test skill, teamwork, and adaptability. Dominion, a mode combining strategic control points with intense skirmishes, offers a perfect blend of tactical depth and chaotic combat. Duels, on the other hand, showcase the game’s true essence—a pure, skill-based showdown where two players engage in a dance of wits and reflexes. The variety of heroes within each faction provides endless opportunities to refine strategies and discover new synergies, while regular updates and reworks from Ubisoft keep the roster balanced and fresh. The thrill of outmaneuvering a skilled opponent or clutching a hard-fought victory with your team is unmatched, and the competitive scene has cultivated a passionate community of players who revel in its depth and challenge.
Beyond the gameplay, For Honor is a celebration of martial artistry and medieval warfare, brought to life with breathtaking visuals and a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack. The environments, ranging from snow-covered fortresses to cherry blossom-filled battlefields, are richly detailed and serve as evocative backdrops for the game’s brutal conflicts. The commitment to post-launch support has transformed the game into something truly special, with frequent updates, seasonal events, and an evolving storyline that keeps the world of For Honor alive and vibrant. For those who appreciate games that reward dedication, skill, and a love for history-infused fantasy, For Honor is a tour de force that stands as one of the most compelling and rewarding multiplayer experiences available today.
Extremely cinematic in theory. As with all games, the players will do everything they can to win. Not always cheat, but tryhard, and that leads to games against 4 orochis with ADHD. As a beginner, I went into for honor with high expectations, and they were met, in bot matches. I really do think this game is best in the story mode or in casual games or bot matches, because you're not trying to win you're trying to immerse yourself within the world of the game.
Good Game, Infuriating but fun. hopefully ubisoft doesnt get rid of it
Would recommend to anyone who enjoys dishonorable combat. See you on the battlefield, I’ll be the guy falling off a ledge.
this game is like being in a abusive/narcissistic relationship. it will tear you down and never make you want to be anywhere near it ever again, and then it will apologize and make you feel so great and wonderful an hour later. i hate this fucking game, give Lawbringer his hyper armor again
Wish I could refund it again but I tried to give it another try. This is mechanically and balance-wise one of the worst games I've ever played. Characters with full steel hammers can attack faster than other with light weapons, and the maps are crappily designed so that 50% of the time you can't even dodge. Certain characters can infinitely repeat stunning or unblockable moves and pin you. Overall the worst medieval combat game I've ever played and one of my least favorites of all time.
Played from time to time since the launch back in 2018, as a casual player.
Pros:
-Good combat system
-Good graphics
Cons:
-Essentially the same game, aside from more heroes. No new content.
-Has a boring meta. Every move is fastened through the course of the game because hyper competitive players(a small minority) could react to everything. Making everything faster is not a fix to the issue, it is postponing the problem. And guess what, top players can still react to most attacks :))
-It is now too arcady. At the start we had knights, samurai and vikings and it felt kind of immersive. Now it is a shitshow with wu lin and outlanders.
-Newer heroes are outright better compared to rest.
-As someone who liked the game because it looked realistic back then, I also hate these bullshit executions they gave to the players but thats me.
-Feels like an unimmersive jank.
I hate myself. great game for hating yourself and others. usually others more than yourself, assuming you lose once or twice in a row. then the tables turn pretty fast.
This is the most toxic game you will come across. I guarantee it, you will destroy any fragile thing within a 5 foot radius. If you have a picture of your miserable wife or your hideous baby on your desk, I recommend removing them from the vicinity or maybe hiding them in a vault that you don't have immediate access to, because whatever is left on your desk will know no peace. I'm pretty sure the game designers have PhDs in torture tactics (source: it was divinely revealed to me) and have carefully calibrated every aspect of the game to drive you clinically insane. This game is the online manifestation of your last toxic/abusive relationship. I know that I currently have 794 (console) hours, but this game manipulates you into playing it, just as a toxic partner manipulates you into staying in the relationship. Every night before I sleep, the game whispers to me as my setup turns itself on: "come here. come play with me. I will bring you happiness." I find myself in a daze as the last bit of life in me staggers toward my PC. As my stumbling hands grip my mouse and keyboard, my lifeless body enters yet another phase of misery. I promise you I do not consciously choose to play this game. "Right... And is Orochi in the room with us? Is Orochi in the room with us? Is Orochi in the room with us?" My therapist does not understand me. It's been 2 years. The night terrors keep me up. He makes me do these things, and when I refuse he comes closer. Pregnant women, children, the elderly: they've all been hurt by me. Officer Jones knows of my situation, but instead of helping he has placed me on house arrest. He hasn't left the corner of my room. Unable to fulfill his requests, I stare, hopeless, as he inches closer every night. I don't have much longer. My address is **** ***** * ** *****. help me.
Originality 10/10
Gameplay 10/10
Frustration (my lawyer has advised me to not speak on this)
Amazing concept and character designs, unfortunately it is plagued by developers that never play the game or e'en try to compose it functioning. The "skilled based match making" doth not work throwing me several times into high rep lobbies after a loss only to get thrown back into the like lobby after losing. and then the expect thou to pay $8 for "skins" that look horrible or look like something that thou get for free. Ubisoft needs to get it together i genuinely regard this game could be one of the mightiest yet of course Ubisoft were the ones whom made it
Fundamentally, the game is incredible. Simply put it’s the best 1v1 fighting mechanics I’ve had the chance to experience. That being said, it’s really hard to get into because new players are genuinely pushed out of the community by people who have been playing the game since it came out. Mainly because that’s the only thing keeping the playerbase alive. I’ve had a ton of fun playing but it’s also hard to enjoy it when one match I have a good fight and the next match it feels like I just challenged god to a duel. I still love the game for what it is and will probably come back to it when I want to lose my mind again. Oh and just a tip before going into your first match: GO TO THE TRAINING AREA AND LEARN THE MOVES OF THE CHARACTER YOU WANT TO PLAY. It’ll make the game a lot more fun if you’re not trying to learn what your character does in fights with people who do. Try things out and find a play style that’s comfortable for you. There’s bound to be one that you enjoy and don’t be upset if you get parried while the other person sits there and doesn’t attack. They’re probably trying to let you actually fight since you’re new before they do a flying kick straight to your forehead that knocks you off the side of the map
Good game from a casual players view but at it's core the game has a lot of issues with balancing and game breaking bugs (i.e zerk tech (patched), Shaolin flicker tech, warlord dodge tech). If you're a casual stick to dominion unless you want to actually learn the game then play duels and watch my boy Walooosh's tips and tricks vids on tiktok and youtube he also streams on Kick @ Kick.com/Walooosh <-- drop a follow or you're banned. I would recommend the game because the lower playerbase it has for such a unique fighting game and it can be quite fun running duo, trio, or 4 stacks in dom or elim and even hoppin in peoples streams and asking for games. You will never find a game as unique as For Honor as many games have attempted the same thing and has failed horribly.
i played the shit out of this game on xbox with my cousin but after coming back to it unfortunately this game gets boring really fast
Trash game all around. I had 700 hours on For Honor (xbox) 6 years ago and the game state didn't get any better. I'm sad i got this game for a discount with all the "bundles" bc i logged on and still didn't own all the DLC characters. Watched a tier list and a video guide on the character i wanted to use. Spent time in practice mode totaling up to 4 hours. Had 100% winrate then faced someone way higher than normal. Using something i can't learn without spending 8$ for 1 character when i got the game for 22$ including 2 previous bundles. Scammy game continuously making pay to play the only way... i remembered how annoying it was to spend all your igc/time trying to earn the characters and not having the chance to use them on anything else...
FOR HONOR is a fun and exiting game although it can be frustrating at some points especially for newer players.Be aware other characters will have advantages like long range or heavy attacks although it will bring down sides like smaller health pools or being way slower.
cool medival fighting game but one wrong thing the entire server will roast and slur you out love it
Great game, Horrible Management, it feels like every new character is purposefully made overpowered just for the sake of people buying it for ubisoft to make more money this game used to be great but for now this game feels like absolute pay to win, for a game that costs 30$ and up it just doesnt feel right having to pay 10$ for every new character just because it takes ages to grind for one single new character.
definetly had been a top game sicne it came out for honor is one of the best and always be one of my favorite games of all time for sure
Ubisoft messing with it's community using shitty language restrictions in different regions.
they added destiny 2 my 2 least favorite things combines it's jove just play magicka 2
It's a game where you patience and focus is as important as having fun seeing yourself get executed.
This game, i thought we had evolved from primates with their anger... their monkey brains that dont know what to do other than hitting their head against a wall.
i though we had evolved. For honor changed this for me, after i sat there screaming and barking at the screen after getting an execution on the orochi that light spammed me the entire game emoting on my dead body, after which i went so insane after the next match they proceed to change to aramusha to then light spam me with more... style??? and then CALLING ME BAD??? after receiving such disrespect i felt no pride, no love and no compassion in my life. i spent the next 2 weeks off work, unable to say anything other than japanese hero voice line... i didnt know i knew chinese and i didnt, but i knew the message "your soul is ours and you spirit is extinguished" i sat there speaking shugoki voice lines which included solely different toned grunts while i headbutt my wall and any door i could find to try and find my sanity but i couldnt escape it...
my family called the men in white suits, i am now in a insane asylum, i have come along way. my wife comes with our daughter to visit every now and then, so i am here writing about my story and condition in a steam review section to warn those to not fall into the trap, to not fall down the same parth as i have
Ps. this game sucks
- Craig
even if u dont have all the characters it's fun to get good at but hard to master
I don't like that this game was released almost 8 years ago, and there is no cross-progression
I don't wanna start from the beginning, I have 400+ reps on ps
I also don't like that there is no PS5 version
This game literally brings out the worse in me.
Do i find the PvP addicting as all hell yes? is a lot of it a load of absolute cuckery ? Yes..
The amount of times ive almost decimated a loved one in my own home gets greater every time i boot up For Honor.
I primarily play as the knights faction because im a real man but unfortunate the developers and 70 percent of the degenerate fan base watch a little too much hentai resulting in the samurai faction having some of the most agonising characters to fight- i absolutely love bring a sword to a jumping around the map teleportation stunlock fight- its great fun..
The great days are great but the bad days make me wanna blow my brains out-
Buy at youre own risk.
𐙚 When I first tried For Honor, I was beyond pissed. The tutorial? Over 30 minutes of button-mashing confusion, and I only stuck with it because my ex begged me to play. Honestly, I was ready to quit before even stepping into a match.
But then something clicked. Once I got the hang of the combat system which was blocking, dodging, countering, it felt insanely satisfying. The game’s duels are intense, the characters and factions are super cool, and the maps have this gritty, medieval vibe that pulls you in. I’m eagerly looking forward to jumping back in and putting my skills to the test once more. ₊˚⊹♡
Used to love this game and yet I can't honestly like it anymore. it feels abandoned and unpolished. the single biggest issue coming back? the tutorial doesn't explain gear at all and how it works.
I love the combat, graphics, design, and all the game modes to choose from including faction wars.
One bad thing about it, Is the player base doesn't seem very active considering the waiting times to start a match are rather long... and there's low activity.
You can either suffer alone or drag your friends into this hell. Either way, your soul will shatter, piece by piece, with each game. But the cosmetics are absolutely fabulous!
10/10
Goofy medieval fighting game that’s on sale, so yes, this is a steal. It’s definitely fun with friends when you can fight them and stuff too…
i hate this game, but its fun, but its annoying, but its a cool concept, but a fustrating one, but entertaining, but not bad, but its a good game.
in conclusion, its certainly one of the games of all time. Do i recommend this game? maybe.
Oh man For Honor, I remember seeing the CGI trailer for this game back in E3 2015 and knew that I had to play this game. It's got a wide range of heroes to choose from, a unique fighting mechanic for a fighting game, and to top it all off the replayability is definitely there. It's been about 8 years now at this point and I've played all of it throughout on the xbox, ps4, and now I'm starting over on PC. For Honor is the most unique take of a fighting game with its Moba-esque map layouts you won't experience anything like it anywhere else... I took breaks here and there over the years but like a relapsing alcoholic I always come back to get another taste. Highly recommend this game to everyone both new and veteran fighting game players you won't regret it (probably).
cock and ball tourcher this game fucking sucks. 5 stars though. Fun and beautiful
-Rarely play the game, playing every now and again
-Boot up the game over a year later, hop in Dom, get ledged, leave and uninstall
-The cycle repeats...
Would recommend!
Oh my God, every historical militery unit is in this game
GOOOOOD
ubisoft can suck it i have lost all my progress on the PS4 when i moved to PC and now i don't have shit at this point it is not even worth playing the game all of my hard work lost and nothing to show for it
terribly unbalanced lobbies and characters at high levels. still a fun one of a kind fighting game. 7/10
this combat system and story is truly fantastic and so creative!
