Basic Axe.
Story:
You select one of three different Gleobryn, Rose or Bolax. A trio of anti heroes that fit an archetype of the fantasy genre, who loot and fight together. Together they set out on an adventure to fight off Kobolds that have invaded the land and also reclaim their stolen loot.
The best way I can describe the story mode is that this is all basically a giant parody of games like Golden Axe and a bunch of pop culture moments. There's references to things like Siegfried and Roy which is something only Americans might get and there's a lot more in the short time it takes to finish the game. They cram in a ton of jokes that range in quality, but mostly aren't that funny.
Graphics:
Visually Dungeons: The Eye of Draconus doesn't look that good. I will start of with a positive that I like the designs of the characters and the world itself. There's tons of cool and funny designs and some of the locations you visit, while nothing ground breaking, do look pretty interesting.
However the in-game graphics and the animations look pretty damn cheap. The cutscenes especially look cheap with it looking like a slideshow, which by itself not a bad thing considering the game is a cheap small indie game, but however it feels like the game looks worse because of it.
Audio:
I will say that I was surprised by the fact that the game has voice acting and it's actually not half bad. Everyone does a really good job with their characters and it's definitely the highlight of the game. In fact I'd say it's borderline the saving grace of the game, considering the voice acting is what saves some of the jokes.
However everything else isn't that good, as a matter of fact the audio mixing is also not that good, which slightly ruins the high quality voice acting, which is incredibly disappointing. The music is decent, although particularly great, but it provides decent background noise for the levels.
Gameplay:
I've mentioned Golden Axe and Dungeons The Eye of Draconus is basically a love letter to those type of beat'em'ups, just without any of the heart you might expect from those games. You know the gist, pick a character and go from left to right beating the living crap out of everything that gets in your way.
The game itself works fine, however it's not a very good game. The game is very basic, you don't have a lot of moves you can mess around with, it basically boiling down to mashing a few moves over and over again until you win. It's not a very interesting game.
One thing I feel like every brawler should have is hitboxes that work and feel fair. I've played games that are fun and don't have that, so there's always some wiggle room, but here it doesn't feel fair. I will say that the game is overall pretty simple so there's not any particular moments where the difficulty ramps up and becomes tedious. However it still feels like you're fighting the air most of the time, as your punches fly through enemies instead of actually hitting them.
The biggest issue is that the game feels like it moves at a snails pace. Characters, enemies your attacks and their attacks feel very sluggish and makes a game that's already not that entertaining even more boring. I think most of this could have been fixed with faster movement, but what's done is done.
Verdict:
Dungeons: The Eye of Draconus isn't a particularly good throwback to the golden age of brawlers. With the genre having a resurgence lately and so many great games coming out, this one is better left where it's at, even with it's cheap price tag this is one not worth playing.

Combat mechanics is shallow, hit detection isn't great.
I didn't like the game, I'm bored. But since I collect collectible cards, the game is in the library.
A short game yes, but the price is fair, and if you like beat em ups, especialy Golden Axe, you should definetely check it out. It is a game that dosent take itself too seriously so hopefuly you are prepared for some humor :)

I highly recommend to try, If you dont like you can always refund with less then 2 hours played within 2 weeks so it is not risky thing to give a go.
The game is too short, feels more like a prologue than a complete game.
It could be fun if you have a couple of friends around and an hour to spare. I didn't have any gameplay issues.
I've played a lot of beat-em-ups, with some of the most lax being made for OpenBOR.
Sadly, this game ranks with the worst of OpenBOR in terms of combat. Hit detection is absolute crap, and the controls take some time to figure out. And while they aren't that complicated, they also don't feel like there is a attack-type-to-strategy ratio. They either all work, or all don't work.
You'll be spammed constantly at the very beginning of the game by enemies you can't dodge, can't block, and can't defeat all at once. Health pickups are plentiful, with an odd choice of an alternate button for pickup (why can't it be the attack button, like every other beat-em-up ever made in the 1990s?) but never seem to appear when you need them most.
What is redeemable about the game? Graphics are pretty good, and voice acting is moderately acceptable.
What is unforgivable about the game? Cut scenes have great art but are cursed with some of the worst writing I've seen in ages. Game tries hard to look like Golden Axe, but one can't honestly compare the gameplay. The gameplay in this title barely functions.
Oh yeah, and the kitchen boss died in such a way that the game couldn't continue (boss died offscreen). And you CAN'T quit to the menu when this happens and start over--you have to close the whole window or use Task Manager.
By the way, the game didn't recognize my controller. All Steam games recognize my controller, but not this one, apparently.
Poor hit detection, overly simplistic, brainless combat, poop and gay jokes, and a Monty Python reference that the game pats itself on the back for. Just play Castle Crashers and have some actual fun. I spent 99 cents on this and wished I got a can of Arizona Fruit Punch instead.
worth 2 dollars- a weird and unfinished ode to 80's pop culture drawing strongly on cheap laughs, mostly on gay jokes, I guess.2/10. short, not very funny and worst of all, with very bad hit detection, but it doesn't really matter, since you can continue indefinetely. And lets not forget references that stopped being relevant 20 years ago- seriously, Smurfs as a communist society? That was edgy in '89. Still, not completely worthless, just not good.
Simply awful. Deeply unfunny, no weight to the combat and no feeling of contact between player and enemies. Get Chronicles Of Mystara or a version of Golden Axe instead.
Is pop culture references enough to carry a game?

You either hate this game or you love it. Look up on youtube before buying.
Episodic beat'em up game. This is episode 1 and for $7 it's totally not worth it. It's extremely short (1 hour) and fairly generic. Don't bother unless on Xtreme sale. We're talking $1.
Very short game. Would like to recommend even so, but just missed the mark. Same moves you use in the tutorial, hit boxes for bosses are either too large or off, and no other dynamics introduced throughout the game (powerups, gear, a storyline, etc.). Some of the humor is borderline good, but poor voiceacting brings it down. Worth a buck if you want some of the funnier named achievements.
Picked it up on sale for cheap. Feels like I overpaid. Controls are clunky, voiceovers seem not well done, ending cuts off abruptly leading into a sequel. Only redeeming factor was some of the comedy in it but didn't make up enough for the rest in my opinion.
Welp, I should have watched a gameplay video first on YouTube. The gameplay is too simplistic even for a beat 'em up; the stages alternate between "bland" and "ugly"; the voice acting is INCREDIBLY annoying; and the "comedy" is so dumb even fans of Friedberg and Seltzer movies will look down on it.
What a terrible waste of time and money.

I am a dad on the budget so when I review a game it is from that perspective.
First off I love the art style in this game. The background is hand painted and the characters during dialog scenes are great. The in game heroes and baddies leave something to be desired but whatever.
The gameplay is reminiscent of TMNT or Golden Ax as the developer says but the action is not as fluid or as engaging as those older games. Also it is obvious that this game is made for 3 players. Playing it solo is a chore and you will have to constantly continue arcade style to beat the game.
The story is pretty good and the college humor is enjoyable.
If you have money to waste and want a bit of a laugh then go ahead and buy this game.
But if you are a budget gamer like myself then stay away. The single player experience is not enjoyable and the gameplay is not worth the money.

Wow, that's a short game. Under an hour to finish. That's more or less okay-ish if the enemies weren't that repetitive and easy to defeat. The bosses are well designed and story is surely funny, just there's not really a lot of meat on the bones of this game.
It feels like Golden Axe on a budget, but that's not a bad thing at all since it feels like Golden Axe ;) The camera could be more up close to the action and the game really needs more and more challenging normal enemies, but overall it's a fun ride for the money. Maybe wait for a sale as the game is really nothing more than an hour of gameplay.
This game has everything you could want from a brawler. It has quirky humor mixed with blood and guts. At times the difficulty is near Battletoads, which I feel is a great thing. Challenge accepted for accepting my money Sucker Free Games. The best thing about Dungeons is that it's 3 player. So once I make 2 friends all of us can enjoy this epic adventure. I'm a pretty lonely guy and most of the time I don't post reviews because I'm also very shy but I was compelled to post a review of this game. Dungeons: The Eye of Draconus brought back childhood memories of visiting my cousins and playing Double Dragon with them. It was one of the only times I got to play videos games with other people. Sure I play games online with people but it's easy for people to accept you if they don't have to see you. Rose is cool but my favorite is Gleobryn and his awesome super wicked cool chicken.
I loved the voices, the animation, the backgrounds, the music, the story..... well everything really.
There's wizards, warriors, chicks and chickens, slugs, gnomes, gouls and all manner of other unmentionables.
It's a sidescrolling, arcade, combat fantasy-adventure rpg, with humour and a story. what more could you want?
