It's capped at 50 FPS no matter what and it needs admin privileges to run. Also it's based on the Wii version, which is inferior and has less content than the PS3 or Xbox 360 versions.

I do recommend this game, I loveeee toy story 3 video game very much!!
HOWEVER, this one IS very limiting compared to the xbox 360 version and is missing a whole area of a map (the Bo Peep school area!) Which did make me feel very disapointed.
It is however a great game that I recommend people to play even if they aren't a fan of toy story movies!! Very fun sandbox game :)

Pretty disappointing to find this version to be so different from the console version. It is very limiting, creatively, in the round-up section of the game and alot of features in the console version are missing in this version. Unless full features were added to this version, I wouldn't recommend.
This version of the game for some reason cuts a ton of stuff from the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. To get the full experience play those instead
The screenshots are from the Xbox 360 version of the game, but this Steam port is simply a digital rerelease of the original PC port from June 15 2010, which is based on the Nintendo Wii version. The Wii version has inferior graphics (which, while unfortunate, wouldn't be a huge deal), and the Toy Box mode, which is the big selling point of the game, has SIGNIFICANTLY less content and options compared to the proper game on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. They could have ported the Xbox 360 version to PC for this version, but simply repackaging their original, existing, crappy PC port takes a lot less effort, so they did that.
I grew up with the Wii release, so while I do have nostalgia for this version, even as a six-year-old I knew the Wii and PC release was inferior to the Xbox 360 and ESPECIALLY the PlayStation 3 versions of the game. It is a bizarre mesh of the Wii game with sound effects and similar controls based on the Xbox 360 version, which is STILL on the market at the same time on Xbox One and Series X|S, which you can even download to your 360 via "Download History" if you buy it digitally (and the physical versions obviously running on all 3).
If you want to play Toy Story 3, either:
Buy a new digital copy of the Xbox 360 version to play on Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series,
Buy a physical Xbox 360 or PS3 copy to play on either the above consoles or the PS3 (bonus points if it is the Limited Edition only sold at Toys R Us and Walmart [case is silver instead of black and has a "3" instead of the Luxo ball], as it has some bonus Toy Box Items), OR
LEGALLY dump a physical copy of the PlayStation 3 copy and move it to your PC to emulate with RPCS3 and access the PS3 exclusive Zurg content on PC, maybe add some patches to unlock the special edition exclusive items on your save file.
TLDR: This is a bad version of a great game

Generations ago, there was an era where PC gaming got the short end of the stick with lackluster ports based on the worst version available to players. This game, is from that era.
While the screenshots show high detailed models, these are from the Xbox360/PS3 version and NOT the PC version of the game. This port is based on the Wii version for whatever reason, and as such the graphics are severely downgraded. This also means that there's less content in Toy Box mode, sadly.
I suppose there still is a quality game at its core, since the story mode is still here seemingly intact, but I still have to warn you about the misleading marketing here (Thanks, Disney).

SO nostalgic for me, it even seems to replicate the Wii version, which was the first I've ever played. Downsides, it's the Wii version, which I think is the least complex, especially for the Toybox part. The story is still fun though!
HATE THE CONTROLS BUT LOVE THE GAME
I absolutely adore this game. I played it on the Xbox 360 as a kid, so having it again is very nostalgic. I remember that it was the first non-multiplayer game (you could play locally, but not online) I ever owned on the Xbox because my mother asked multiple times if I was sure if I wanted it, worried that I would grow bored of it rather quickly. I spent a lot of time playing it as a child, and I still love it to this day. It is incredibly fun, and honestly could be fun for anyone of any age.

very nostalgic game i used to play on the wii, however its a lot easier and shorter than i remember lol
If your looking for the original game that was on the ps3, this isnt what you want, for one thing, the graphics are terrible and everything looks like its made out of polygons, Things glitch all the time, none of the original weapons are in the game, and you cannot customise individual buildings and aliens.

I bought this game because I used to play it as a child on my Xbox 360 with my younger brother. Fond memories. Sadly this game is buggy as hell, but I can't bring myself to give it the little thumbs down :(

Yeah nah if this port was based on the seventh-gen console versions of the game like the screenshots imply I'd be singing a different tune, but you're getting bonked with the Wii port if you pick this up. Almost false advertising. Find the PS3/360 version
While I do like this game, this version seems to be either a stripped down one or a development one as entire features and parts of the non-story game are missing. Better to emulate or find a copy for the consoles.

Do not buy game wont save so as soon as you hit a certain progress level you cant go further as the game has to restart
