Runs fine on Linux, played through whole game without issues. Fun game.

My favorite rougelite besides Compound (but with this one I can sit on my ass to play it!!)

This game has its charm, with the low poly arcade appearance and bright colors, but my God if you don't have professional CSGO level reaction times, Heavy Bullets is just gonna piss you off.

It's a really fun roguelike, it has such a charm to it. Quite difficult to beat. Ⅰ highly recommend.

fuck the snakes

very fun FPS dungeon roamer where you try not to die and get through each randomly generated levels. You have 6 rounds in your revolver and can pick up bullets after you have already shot them. There are stores throughout each level and you can even store money saved for future runs. Great game with a great art style. Def check out future games made by same developers! <3

Haven't played this in years but the game is 11 years old at this point. It is what it is. There's nothing that will put this in your top roguelike games or anything.

Definitely pick up if on sale or if you haven't played a lot of rogelikes.

My playtime speaks for itself. I sunk hours and hours into this game years ago and never beat it, and now, upon finding it tucked away in my library, I have nothing but fond memories for it.

The game is punchy, punishing, and paranoia-inducing. The items are fun and change up the gameplay in really enjoyable ways. There are plenty of limitations keeping you from achieving an overpowered state, though, as with all great rougelikes, there is plenty there to help you along the way as well.

Overall, I recommend this to anyone who likes methodical shooters and a good challenge.

If your looking for a very tough game that seems like it shouldn't be. Go for it. I like it a lot.

Quick fun game if you want an aim trainer, this definitely will do that for you.

The gimmick of the game doesn't match the premise of the game at all though, and while its not detrimental it does hold the game back. The premise is that when you shoot a bullet, it lands on the ground and can be picked up again. Since there is absolutely no incentive to go fast, and are actively punished by the snakes hiding in the foliage and turrets (which fire way too quickly once they see you), you are better off slow clearing each room, methodically peeking and clearing every corner of a room, taking as minimal agro as you can.

Like I said this isn't necessarily a bad thing, if you play "valorant" or "CS:GO" this kind of methodical, peek-and-clear gameplay is very helpful as practice for those games. However, it makes the idea of picking up your own bullets, completely obsolete. Since you can take as much time as you want picking every bullet up.

While I think the heavy bullets mechanic does is incentivize a slow playstyle, since if you try to go too fast, you'll probably miss your bullets, its hard to believe this was the intention of the developers. Since even boss fights are clearly designed to be move-based.

I will say that the rogue-like aspect is clearly just an after thought, and breaks the game a ton, where you can just save money in the bank and then buy everything you see once you have enough.

Regardless, it was a fun game. buy it on sale I guess. Definitely a challenging 5 hour experience.

Really a hidden gem. Strategic game beneath the surface

A perfect indie game 10/10. Love the art style, enemies, items, hidden secrets and most importantly the gunplay. A great game to warm up your aiming skills. Bullets are heavy so be careful how fast you fan that hammer. Die and lose it all, or bank some away for a later day. X marks the spot. An absolute gem of a game!

Please make a sequel. Here's some title Ideas:
Massive bullets; Hefty bullets; Overweight bullets; Substantial bullets; Ponderous bullets...
I'd play with all those big bullets
Also maybe a light bullets version? Weightless bullets; Fluffy bullets; Petite bullets...

It has bullets and they're heavy

I played this game years ago and remembered having a lot of fun so I picked it up when it was on sale. I quickly had my good memories shattered as I got no enjoyment out of the hour and a half I played. The gameplay is repetitive, you peek a corner and a room of enemies wake up and immediately run at you in a straight line, you have a brief time to shoot them and they all die in one hit due to the titular heavy bullets. The only unique feature of the gameplay is that you start the game with only six bullets that you have to pick up after shooting to reuse, otherwise you'll lose really quickly.

That feature combined with some of the targets being really small means precision is key. This made playing on a Steam Deck kind of unbearable, I really wouldn't recommend playing this without a mouse because aiming using analog sticks is not effective. The performance also sucks, from what I can tell that's just how it is and not due to hardware. The game stutters pretty consistently from the very first level making mistakes unavoidable as you freeze up and are at the game's mercy.

Other than that it's just a mediocre rogue-lite. The gameplay is boring and frustrating and most other aspects are rather bare-bones and nothing begins to make up for the aforementioned issues.

I wish I could give a meh reaction, so I'll just give a thumbs up.
I've never gotten super far, but from my understanding the game is quite bare boned in creature types, and the maze is a bit claustrophobic at times.
I kind of like how you can save up coins for future runs, but then your current run will suffer for it, so that's not as nice. Makes me just want an infinite coin mod.

Negatives aside, I would still recommend trying this game if you see it for 5 bucks or less because the reusable bullet mechanic is neat and cool.

You start with just six bullets, and you have to pick them back up after shooting. Managing your limited ammo and resources is key to surviving the game’s eight levels, which are full of enemies that require different strategies. Some enemies need fast reactions, while others require patience.

You’ll develop a cautious playstyle over time, moving slowly and making sure every shot counts. Boss fights, however, break this rhythm with chaotic, fast-paced action where you have to dodge attacks while aiming. There are also shops and a bank that let you store money between runs, allowing you to invest in the future.

Because of the stutters, I think you should buy the game on sale... That said, it still provides a fun and rewarding experience, especially for hardcore roguelike fans.
