This is one of the coolest game ideas I've ever come across. Kicks even more ass when played with friends. Remote play together works like a charm!
Nice.
Awsome game sadly only works is multiplayer
Only complaint is that there is no online play, other than that a very fun multiplayer dungeon crawler
There is no other game like crawl. Cool atmosphere, unique gameplay great pixel art graphics. The only thing it lacks is multiplayer.
pick it up and support a great indie dev.
This is one of neatest couch coop experiences you can have. Grab some friends and go kill each other repeatedly in a dungeon!
Banger of a party game
I bought this to play on mac with controllers but it doesnt work so i dont know how to score this game. it does not work with mac.
Great game
Awesome party game, good single player minigame type of thing too. Fantastic idea.
The game is SIGMA
Fire game and amazing concept. A sequel or some sort of successor is seriously needed, this game is lightning in a bottle.
A fun game about beating your friends to death to escape a dungeon, except there's not really many threats that AREN'T your friends
This is very entertaining
awesome fun
This game is great. The music is great, the graphics are great, the competitive nature makes it brutal for parties. I have never played this game single-player, but it's a blast with friends. Honestly one of the best local multiplayer games I've played in years.
I think my favorite part is progressing the baddies that you can use to haunt. I wish there was a single-player campaign of some sort, but I don't mind being just as out of practice as the people I play with. This got a lot of offline play in the desert.
the longest tutorial of my life, and none of it's necessary. it doesnt even tell you how to skip the tutorial until the end of the tutorial. why?
this is an awesome game w/ a great concept, super fun w/ friends
Crawl
Has a total of 6 trading cards.
My favorite local multiplayer game to break out when folks are over and we have 30 mins to kill. I love the constantly shifting 3v1 dynamic and the rubberbanding mechanics where even if you're not the active player, your monsters get stronger and that feels fun too.
This is a certified sleepover banger
Very interesting game but it would be better to get a multiplayer version, I bought it because I thought it could be played multiplayer. It's still good, it has a lot of potential. But it's not worth the price because it can't be played multiplayer.
If you're looking for a couch co-op game, I highly recommend this one. At the start of the game you choose your monster, spawn in and everyone as humans fight each-other to the death. The one who wins is the hero doing the dungeon diving. Everyone else gets to be ghosts that can haunt things (traps, throwable objects etc.), summon slimes or summon oneself as the monster form they chose- in certain areas. There's a store for the hero to interact with and every time you go deeper into the dungeon you gain points to level up your monsters- the hero getting the least and the person losing the most getting the most points to level up. At level 10 you can fight the boss to try to earn your victory against other players. Its incredibly fun and you should give it a shot.
That being said I do not recommend playing online through remote play, every time you go through a door to another room it lags, badly, I think this is steams fault and less so the games but whose to say. This ruins the natural cycle of the game-loop this game is, you can do things to make it work but its frustrating, unfair and just not worth it.
An amazing couch co-op game, but not accessibly playable online (unless everyone who's playing is on the same wifi but even then there's a bit of lag). I can only hope the devs do an update for online multiplayer, or that they make a completely new game for online players (still with the ability to couch co-op), that has more monsters, maybe some kind of rng loot rooms with deadlier traps (depending on the loot) and maybe rng stats for heroes so its not just the monsters getting stronger (although the shop already goes crazy and ofc you want the monsters to be stronger, so that everybody gets the chance to play as the hero). They could do a ton of really cool stuff with this games base concept.
TLDR: AMAZING COUCH CO-OP GAME BUT BAD REMOTE PLAY- if you're thinking of getting this for online multiplayer, don't. Do with this what you will.
My go-to couch counter-op game. Up to four player local multi, controls and concept is so easy to pick up that even non-gamers enjoy it. Gorgeous, clean pixel art, rounds are quick, and the roguelike unlock system will keep you coming back. Parents coming over? Friends sick of Smash Bros? Throw on Crawl. It's even on consoles, so you can get it there if you can't set up multiple controllers on your PC. I just hope for more varied boss battles and other content one day, because this is a solid game and only three different bosses is kinda dull. You'll be having so much fun with your friends that it's not a big deal though
Classic
this game goes hard. where a bunch of triple A games fail, Crawl has an incredibly intuitive, clean way of multiplayer. the controls are so simple and you can bind it to basically anything that outputs to a computer, and I love it. no more steam controller support bull shit, just press buttons then boom be far superior than ur friends.
oh yeah, the game is really good too i guess. i love couch co-op. and cool ass visuals. and couch co-op.
8/10
This is an awesome game, but would be massively improved with an online multiplayer component. The Steam Remote Play is very cumbersome to use and sometimes doesn't work very well.
Now that i'm monster, i don't have to pay fortune for monster energy drinks.
No online multiplayer. Game itself is good and fun, but no online multiplayer.
Amazing premise for a game, baffling there's no real online support
Great game, but its missing the Coop-online mode
This is a go to party game from my childhood.
It has fun progression, crazy combos, and a good competitive nature.
The art and music are such a vibe, and has GABE!
Now go beat your friends up and make some memories.
it the bestest game in the whole wide world and fun with family
One of the best party games I've ever played
Cool unique idea. also enjoy that there is quite a bit to unlock and keep you busy.
Ghost of Christmas past here..
There's no DLC, like new levels, moreover bosses, because the devs didn't design the game with the features for anyone to easily add content to it, namely including themselves.
That means there's a good game, probably a great dev-team, could be the best, using a bad business-model, ladies and gentlemen of the jury. And, therefore they would need to remake the entire game from scratch (they will not), if anyone, namely including us, the players, hope to see more than 2 or 3 levels.. idk how many there are because I didn't bother playing the same levels over and over again in 1-player to unlock anything more interesting than another evil god.. whoopie..!
Anyways, how you gonna stun-lock yourselves out of developing for your own game bruh?
10/10!
lolOne of my all time favorites. This is actually a perfect game. All the mechanics and aesthetics are executed flawlessly.
What I don’t understand is why this game isn’t among lists everywhere for best games of the century. Probably because it wasnt released on console til much later.
One of the best times you can have with couch multiplayer, full stop. Invite your friends and have a blast.
A bit too much of a hyper casual button mashing beat-em up for my tastes. Even goofing off with friends we appreciate there being more competitive integrity than exists in 'Crawl'. Concept is exceptional but nothing stood out as feeling 'just right'.
Crawling in my crawl!!! these crawling crawling crawl!!!!
🔥
Holy shit what a fun game. A 4 player dungeon crawler where 1 person is the hero and the other 3 are monsters trying to kill the hero, whoever gets the last hit becomes the hero. As the hero you play a classic rouge lite, buying weapons, upgrading stats etc. While as the Monsters you can evolve your monsters and use traps and trickery to try and make the heroes life hell. This game can be so frustrating in the best way possible. I'd advise getting together with 3 buddies, getting drunk and playing it.
Not at all what I expected!
To be fair I did no research and just bought it on the winter steam sale, I thought it was just going to be a regular 8bit dungeon crawler story, but I hopped in and immediately caught on to the premise.
I got one of my homies to get the game and it's so much fun.
Its the perfect mix of competitive, goofy, grind, and simple all at the same time.
There are a lot of different characters, each with their own monsters that you can upgrade in-game.
It's got a lot of replay value.
My only drawback to the game is that I would like to see more final boss monsters implemented to remove the small end game repetition that can start to happen. The majority of the game is great, it's just once you reach the end goal, fighting the same 2 (I believe it's 2, haven't run into any more during play) final bosses can start to get old.
All in all, super fun.
Worth the purchase for sure.
Surprisingly fun even without friends. Still, it’s a great party game
Great game! Art and audio are amazing.
I love this game.
Great game to play with friends, really recommended! The sessions are short, but the action, so as well as emotions it gives you, is very dense! Also, the sound and the visual animation dynamics are made very delightful.
One of, if not THE, best roguelike party game. It's.. not amazing solo, but with a party? A blast.
I absolutely love this game. Great gameplay loop, fun with friends, phenomenal atmosphere, and brilliant concept.
However, I wish there was a little more to it. After a while of play, the selection of monsters and items feel a little limited, and the strength of the monsters feels like it quickly becomes eclipsed by the hero, since they have so many more options available. Sometimes it can feel a tad repetitive. I hope that someday powerhoof decides to return to this game and perhaps add a little bit more to it. :)
This has to be one of the greatest couch-cop/remote play games that I've ever played in my life. This game needs more recognition.
