About the Game

BREAK THE FAIRY TALE!
Cinders is a witty young woman living with an overbearing stepmother and her two daughters, as if she was reenacting a certain well-known fairy tale. But unlike its protagonist, Cinders is not afraid of taking fate into her own hands. Even if it means breaking the rules...
The game takes a look at four women and what made them who they are. It’s a story about freedom, dreams, sisterhood, and finding your own Happily Ever After that may not exactly agree with the stale morals of classic fairytales.
With multiple endings, 120 decision points, and over 300 choices, Cinders gives you total control over the main character’s personality and how her story unfolds.

art felt like being in an old painting it was nice. Think the twist on cinderella was nice but I felt like I wasn't compelled to do other endings. As if there wasn't as much of a drive or goal for those plots
Cinderella as You've Never Seen Her Before
Developed and released in 2012 by indie studio MoaCube, Cinders is a somewhat gritty and feminist retelling of the classic Cinderella story, turned on its head by its representation of the wicked Stepmother and her daughters, the fairy godmother character, and even Cinderella herself. MoaCube class themselves as a collective of independent developers who make games that are “personal and pretty”. This is definitely the impression I got from Cinders, from the at times bitingly brilliant writing to the enchanting visuals by illustrator Gracjana Zielinska.
I have played a lot of visual novels and story-centric simulators like Kemono Teatime, but I’ve yet to find any with the same immersive beauty as Zielinska’s style brings to Cinders. Topped off with a gently magical musical score, Cinders is the complete package and a wholly unique experience without being too big of a time investment. In fact, I was able to stream one whole path in around seven hours. The gameplay is pretty standard and the story is engaging; everything you could want from a visual novel. However, fans of more complex stories (like Steins;Gate, Ever17, etc.) might find this one to be a bit simple and short without too much variation. Given how easy it is to go back and get the other endings, I would recommend probably purchasing it on sale rather than paying full price for it.

I thought the story was okay. There were a couple great moments here and there, but it was pretty simple and mostly predictable. But I absolutely love the art. This game is gorgeous, and I think it makes it worth playing, even just a little bit. I'm also a fan of how the title screen updates with each ending you get.
The game has excellent workmanship and high quality. This game wasn't meant for me and didn't work for me.
lots of choices that have impact on the MC's personality and the people around on her
