When starting from nothing isn't hard enough, the creators of Call of Duty must overcome a billion dollar lawsuit and a toxic mix of office politics and creative struggles the build the next great videogame franchise.
Written over the past four years, journalist Geoff Keighley ("The Final Hours of Portal 2") chronicles the inside story as only he can with a gripping 25,000 word longform app. Featuring exclusive artwork, never-before-seen videos, candid interviews with over 80 individuals, and countless revelations about the twists and turns of development at Respawn Entertainment during the creation of Titanfall.
The Final Hours of Titanfall features:
- Never-before-seen videos from early development versions of Titanfall.
- Exclusive concept art from the first days of Respawn, detailing many of the abandoned concepts the team explored.
- New details on how the gameplay of Titanfall changed and evolved during development.
- Birth of a Titan: Find out how the art team "kitbashed" old model parts to create the 24-foot giant.

I got to play a lot of Titanfall 2 but only played a bit of Titanfall at a friends house long ago. I found this rundown of the development of the first game inspiring.
despite everyone clowning in reviews, yes its a bit of a pain to setup and requires some nonsense but this is for true die hard titanfall fans, if you truly love titanfall its an incredibly enjoyable experience to see the growth of the game and the universe.
How to get this interactive book to work (yes, this is a book not a game)
- Make sure you have WinRAR installed.
- Navigate to where the game is installed on your computer and open TheFinalHoursOfTitanfall.exe in WinRAR.
- Go to the top of the WinRAR window and click on Tools --> Repair archive and then it will let you extract it because for some reason the archive is corrupted by default :(
- Extract it. Take the extracted files and place them in the same folder that TheFinalHoursOfTitanfall.exe was in.
- Now, delete TheFinalHoursOfTitanfall.exe from that folder and rename the new .exe file that was part of the files you extracted (it should be called "The Final Hours Of Titanfall.exe") and rename it to TheFinalHoursOfTitanfall.exe. That way Steam will launch it when you press Play.
- Now you'll need Adobe AIR to get it to work but don't worry its really easy to get and it's free. Go to https://airsdk.harman.com/runtime and MAKE SURE to download the "AIR runtime including WebKit" version because if you get the other one there will be issues with the book and it won't work properly.
- Install Adobe AIR
Now it should work! Hope this helped!
DO NOT BUY THIS. This is practically a scam. While the goal was to make an interactive documentary to read and listen to, it was done in the worst way possible. This thing takes an incredible amount of time to get to work properly which you need third party services for. There are also several videos on Youtube that show footage of this FOR FREE. Do not buy this under any circumstances. This was not made by Respawn and it was "developed" in the worst way imaginable.
Doesn't even work properly, no clue about the origin version but I'm not throwing my money at it, as it may just be as unreadable as this one and I can't get my money back. This top-left popup won't go away and makes this a pain to read. Was looking forward to reading this, but it's a shame it's so poorly designed.

This interactive book tells a very interesting story of how Titanfall game came to life. I recommend it for the content itself, but you can see that this was made back in 2014 from the start. The file has some issues and you need to install Adobe Air to even open it.
If you have a bug that shows you a quiz and some opened internet windows, just turn some pages. They will disappear and come back to their places.
The documentary itself is alright, the interesting part is reading about the crunch hours and trouble development of Titanfall 1 and how Respawn Entertainment had to deal with both the game & Activision lawsuit from unpaid royalties they wanted from MW2 at the same time. Back when MW2 came out, Infinity Ward got OG team/their key members booted by Activision and then those people went out & founded Respawn Entertainment.
But you probably get most of your $1 by using this as lowkey Titanfall 1 shortcut for Steam
We might have got our wishes granted with Titanfall 2 on Steam but 1st one isn't here. Tbh, I like 1st one more cuz it feels more immersive and has way better maps. The selectable titan language voice packs didn't make it to TF2. Oh yeah OST is tons better then TF2
To get this game to work with actual titanfall game, you just install Orgin to "Final Hours Of Titanfall" folder and rename Orgin.exe to FinalHoursOfTitanfall.exe
Don't be discouraged by the negative reviews, I suppose people were expecting something.
I own the kindle version as well, which is text only. It's a good book, giving great insights into the birthing process of Titanfall. Up until the last chapter I kept asking myself "How the hell did they get the game out?!".
This interactive version is great, you get early gameplay footage, artwork, pictures of the staff. It beautifully colors an otherwise good book.
If you are interested in game creation, Titanfall, or setting up a new company, I gladly recommend this book.
Remember, after installing the Steam version, you will need to install Adobe Air as well. The Steam version is actually an installer. A minor nuisance.
Shame on people who gave this longform app a negative reviews because they did not bother to read at all or they are just dimwit, but it would be exciting if Respawn Entertainment releases Titanfall and Titanfall 2 here on Steam, I hope it will happen soon. But first let us play these games on Origin: 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥 │ 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝟐
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Overwhelmingly Positive
A short, but very insightful look into Titanfall's development. If you're interested in the game or game development in general, I heartily recommend you pick this up.
Great look into the development on Titanfall. As long as you're not dumb enough to think this is actually the game.
The only reason this has a low user review rating is because people can't read and think it's a game but if you actually want to know about the development of titanfall this largly text based app has a fair amount to offer (the art alone is worth the price) :D
Great story of dirty politics clashed with passion for creating fun experiences. It's a miracle Titanfall turned out to be so good.
I bought this just so I could leave a review to try - futile though it is - to balance out the tards on the review aggregate.
This is a documentary. It is an interactive Adobe Air application with art, interviews, behind the scenes making of type stuff. It is not the game. It was never advertised as the game. Even if you are illiterate, which chances are pretty high that you are, it is completely blatant from the pictures on the store page that this is not the game.
Titanfall is not on Steam. It will never, ever, ever be released on Steam, nor will Titanfall 2. EA does not release their games on Steam since launching their Origin platform and they never will again.
If you are on Windows 10, beware that the shitty Adobe wrapper they put this program in is broken and does not work on 10. It will say it's installing, but does nothing. You need to extract the application file using 7Zip or WinRAR or WinZip or whatever you prefer, at which point you will get a folder with a setup.exe and the application itself as well as the data folders needed to run the program. Beware it WILL NOT work without the latest version of Adobe Air and it will force you to install it.
Content wise, good stuff.
People who love Titanfall love this.
It was extremely hard for Repawn to get there, while it's so easy for us to buy and play Titanfall now.
If you really like Titanfall, you must read this!

喜欢泰坦的人一定会喜欢这篇文章,你会看到这样一款游戏背后那些令人悲喜交加的故事
I am a big fan of many games and Titanfall has been one of the best multiplayer experiences I have ever had in a multiplayer match but it takes certain type of player to do well in it and I would say Mirrors edge would be good training but back to this when i found Titanfall The Final Hours it was like finding gold for me because I love all the behind the scenes that people have been releasing these days and this let me learn a little bit more about the game.
I recommend the Final Hours of Titanfall to people who have a love for playing the actual game but not to the dark noobs who plague it.
I'm writing this review as I'm going through this on Steam, and will serve as a log of my experience with using it.
Once Final Hours of Titanfall (this is the name it will be listed under when you look for it in your Steam library) is "downloaded", running the application will launch an Adobe Air installer - this will install Adobe Air onto your computer if you don't already have it, as well as the actual "book".
First attempt at running ended up causing an error and the install failed. After unckecking "Add desktop icon" and "start after install is finished", it installed successfully after the second attempt.
From there I went back to my library to run the program, a prompt from Adobe Air showed up, asking if I wanted to uninstall or run, so I chose to run the program.
From there going through the application is easy and simple - use the arrow keys or mouse to navigate, and close the window like you would any other window.
Obviously the people that would be interested in this would be those that would like to know more behind the history of Respawn and Titanfall, as well as getting a glimpse of some of what goes into making these kind of games. If you're into that stuff, I'd recommend it.
HOWEVER, if you're running a Windows 8 computer, I'd recommend using Microsoft's Bing Rewards program to get a $3 gift card for the Windows Store, and purchase it through there without having to worry about having to wait through the install process of Adobe Air.
An interesting read about how Titanfall came to be (or almost didn't come to be, really). If you read the Portal and/or Tomb Raider books as well, you know exactly what to expect here. There's some interactivity in it, but mostly it's just about the history of the game. But why the book is on Steam and the game is not I will never understand (ok, I do, but it's still weird).
Reading it completely will take you about 1,5-2 hours so don't expect a real book here, but it's interesting enough to read if you have nothing to do for a couple of hours.
[Rating: 79/100]
It's an interactive eBook on the history of the surprisingly troubled development of Titanfall. Yes, it's for a game that's Origin-only. Yes, it's done by Doritos Pope. Doritos Pope is surprisingly informative in the Final Hours and while an ad in the sense that it tells you that Titanfall is a thing, in the sense of being a fully supportive "rag" as some knee jerkers on the Steam forums have put it, the Final Hours doesn't really do that. It sticks to the facts of the development, both the good times and the bad times.
Especially the bad times.
And for a $2 purchase? I say get it, it's fully worth the read.
This gripping drama gives insight into the controversies behind making the popular video game Titanfall. The story not only focuses on the developers but on the reporter himself. Seen as biased by his peers after the Dorito scandal of 1996, Geoff Keighley fights to overcome his alcoholism and shed some light on the new indie darlings at Respawn Entertainment.
ABOUT:
A sexual harassment scandal soon hits Respawn Entertainment/EA, and it's up to Geoff to put his journalism magic powers to the test to figure out what REALLY happened. Sex, drugs, murder, concept art...The world of video game development is a dangerous and erotic place.
CONCLUSION:
For only $2 you can't say no to this masterpiece. Heck, you've probably spent more on joke gifts to give your friends during steam sales. Treat yourself. This will definitely put a smile on your face.
For the very first version, it has several 'bugs' within.
- It needs Adobe Air
- It needs seperate installation even if you 'installed' this e-book through steam.

it asks you to 'reinstall' after first launch.
- mouse control is very weird.
- wheel scroll moves more than a screen. I had to use scrollbars to read the articles.
- Some fonts are broken, affecting some layouts like "finding your titan"
- image qualities are bad, BAD.

EDIT : I have "less than an hour" record on this uncomfortable app.
It is not even a game, and I don't need "three hours" to judge it.
