It used to be a good game, now, this is a broken mess, constant issues, weird glitches, just don't buy this game, trust me.
Just beat the game 175 hours in. Very fun. Will now beat Loopy Landscapes.

An amazingly fun game despite its age. It's always a good time to indulge in a little Roller Coaster Tycoon action. "Burger Stall 1 is an amazing value!"

last time i played this game was 2001 i was addicted then its just nostalgic i love it so much you really need to play this wonderful retro game
i wish i refunded this when i bought it like 3 years ago because i dont know how a childrens game can be this boring and simultaneously difficult to wrap your head around
Amazing if your OS can still run it. One of the biggest games of all time, I'd argue. You've either heard of this game, or are a lifetime player of it. One does not quit, they just take long breaks. There's a reason professional NHL players can't quit the game, after twenty years. Enough said!

Without a doubt, my all-time favorite comfort game. While RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 might objectively improve on the original, I still find myself revisiting the first game’s campaign nearly every year. The nostalgia is so strong, and the game is so well-made that, despite its unmistakable late-’90s look and style, it has stood the test of time.
I may not fall asleep at the computer playing anymore (only to wake up in year 14 with half my rides crashed and out of service), but I can still spend hours enjoying this classic. It’s the perfect escape from the endless stream of indie titles and graphically intensive AAA games we have today. In a time of excess, RollerCoaster Tycoon remains my go-to for a much-needed break.
Although the hour count is low for this game, I've been playing this since I was a wee little lad in the early 2000s, I still own this and the second on disc, and it's still one of, if not still the best amusement park sim out there! The sounds of the parks, the attractions and rides, it's all here and it's all so amazing and so nostalgic. The rollercoaster creator is still one of the best in the industry, allowing easy-to-understand tools that you can use to create simple rollercoasters or complex machinations. And of course I'd be a fool not to mention the impact this game had on gaming, being one of the major games to bring out everyone's inner engineer or sadist. Despite being 25 years old, it's still one of the best sim games you can play and provides countless hours of fun!
Buggy port, played quite a few maps and lo and behold it wouldnt load, did a game file verification and now all my saves are gone. waste of time . no achievements either. not worth 2 quid on sale
Every computer I buy RCT is the First download! So many childhood memories with this Game. The OG RCT ALWAYS WAS AND WILL BE THE BEST RCT!
It's just how it was back when I was a kid playing this game on the first Xbox. Brings back a lot of nostalgic memories for me, and I have really been enjoying playing this game. I can't seem to get enough of it!

As of right now, I genuinely cannot recommend this game, I have been so frustrated this entire time.
I used to love this game as a kid, and maybe I'm just dumb, but every time I right click to demolish a tree or something, I get moved to all the way to the right of the map, and keep having to reposition my camera to where I was previously.
As far as I know, this game is not being worked on or updated? I don't know. It very much seems the exact same as when I played it years ago.
Very disappointing, I just wanted to play a nostalgic game.

Absolute classic, cant go wrong with this one.
If you've never played, then you're missing out. I usually don't do games like this, but this one brings back memories. It's one of the few games we had growing up. It's just as fun now as it was then. No need to fancy graphics or anything like that. Just good old fashioned roller coaster building and theme park management. It has always been a blast to play.
You ever play Roller Coaster Tycoon before? You should. It's still the best theme park management game around and runs smoothly on a potato.

Ahhhh.... This is what I've been looking for, the true RollerCoaster Tycoon. A game where you have control over the entrance fee so you can divorce people of their money.

Hadn't played this God-tier classic in years and in >10 minutes without having to go through a tutorial I was building my park, getting happy customers, and building rides, food, bathrooms, hiring staff, everything. Chris Sawyer coded RollerCoaster Tycoon almost 25 years ago entirely in Assembly hence why for the late 90's the graphics were outstanding running on Pentiums. Absolutely legendary programming work and it still a work of art to be studied. I just put in 5 hours in the middle of the night I don't have because I really need to get up tomorrow to learn to code this well. Worth owning on CD-ROM if you can find it. Absolutely worth buying this classic on Steam. 100% FUN!
Time for some RollerCoaster Tycoon and chill
This classic game still holds up surprisingly well, despite being released before I was born. It's a fun dive into managing a theme park with things for everyone to enjoy, my favorite of which is building rollercoasters. Definitely worth giving a try!

A true classic, but I wish it had achievements
I originally got this game in a cereal box back in the early 2000s and it was one of the first games I ever got addicted to.
From the 2D isometric art style to the nostalgic soundtrack, even after so many years it truly is a timeless masterpiece.
Highly recommend, especially because (at the time of writing) its currently on sale for less than $1.50. 😊
Nothing like these classic Tycoon games. So fun! I just with they would come out with the classic Zoo Tycoon. That one was my favorite!
Buy Roller Coaster Tycoon Classic if you don't want to d**k around getting this to fully display on your screen.

I loved the game when I was a kid but this one just won't start no matter what compatibility mode or other solution I try. Disappointing.
I find it funny that the Steam trailer for this game starts with "Mild Violence" ESRB warning, and we all know why. :)
