Super Chibi Knight is an action adventure platformer with RPG elements. It was made by 33 year-old Dad and 8-year-old Daughter team PestoForce. The cute and colorful art and animation brings to life a rich world with a deep history and many secrets. Your in-game choices will determine your specialty, Sorcerer or Beastmaster, each affecting the course of the game.

Visually it was interesting, as for the combat parts, well... no, I was just going forward by just leveling up and brutally tanking and destroying everything without a care because combat is very random, the worst is surely the boss where you need to use the shovel as the hitboxes are almost non existant combined with the worst combat system just for that occasion.
The parts where you use beasts are probably the most interesting ones.
Maybe remaking it properly would be very interesting to see
It's a decent enough game until you get to the final boss, which is a very boring battle of attrition. For the sake of nostalgia I'll give it a "yes"

Harder than Dark Souls.
This game has a special place in my heart since I was a little kid
it's a very cute game, but unfortunately it is really difficult. This review so far may have game reviewers drooling and staring dreamy eyed at this game at the thought of comparing it to Dark Souls, perhaps with the headline of "Baby's First Dark Souls", or some other genius manipulation of the English language that all critics have, but alas, it's more of the bullshit kind. (Not that this wards of the dark souls comparisons, I'm sure.)
Before I'm sure many of you would salivate the words "Git gud" on your keyboard with the impeccable precision is actually very impressive, I would like to point out the fact that there's not much to actually get good at - I'm almost certain that half of the enemies that I've fought so far's telegraphs for when they're going to attack are beyond that of the human reaction speed, while on crack cocaine. I've not played many "super-difficult" games, so perhaps this is one of them and I just am not aware of the trend, but there is no doubt in my mind that it should at least not be like this in the first levels.
Even if the game was demanding some kind of super-deliberate, high-focus, frame-perfect precision, it would immediately fall flat on its face on roll away due to its cute spherical chibi body into several large, heavy incoming trucks driven by dogs of which the only toys they have ever played with are balls to catch, due to specifically and only the fact that there is an impossible to unbind (as far as I could tell) control for dashing by moving in the same direction twice, and is followed up by its adorable body being completely and absolutely slam-dunked into a basketball hoop on fire due to it being a platformer with instantly-killing spikes.
I would love to love this game, what with it being a family project and the art being great and everything appearing very cute and well made, I just can't really stand to play it for much longer.
Linux build doesn't work for me. Proton didn't work without tweaking, either. To make the game work, it requires the following launch option in the properties to be able to start on Linux, using Proton, for me: PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Then it seems to work great.
