When the Fates themselves have always written your story, what happens when you pick up the pen?
Play as Orpheus in this brand new story for Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical! Orpheus’ story is arguably finished - until Hermes brings him back to the world of the living. With their help, you’ll guide Orpheus through the depths of mortal decision making - who to date, what to hope for, what instrument to rock out on…
Starring Anthony Rapp (RENT, Star Trek: Discovery), Erika Ishii (Dimension 20, Worlds Beyond Number) and written by David Gaider, Stray Gods: Orpheus is a comedic feature length experience that history buffs, hopeless romantics, and rock stars alike can enjoy.

Experience 6 brand new original songs, where each decision changes the song and the story. Composed by Austin Wintory, with lyrics by Simon Hall (Tripod), Montaigne (Jess Cerro) and new addition Tom Cardy (Red Flags, Artificial Intelligence), Stray Gods: Orpheus has hours of interactive music for you to explore again and again.

When the curtain has fallen and the show is over, who do you go home as? Choose to reject, embrace, or rewrite the stories the world expects of you. Is the mortal world ready for the return of Ancient Greece’s most infamous bard?

Stray Gods: Orpheus has all the ingredients for a great DLC, but unfortunately falls a little on the short side despite containing all of the familiar heart, soul, and sometimes-awkward singing that made the base game so loveable. A nice-enough story expansion for hardcore fans, but maybe pick it up on sale!
I was really excited to get back to the world, and did enjoy it... until it suddenly ended. It's waaay to short for the price, even with 20% off. It took less than 2 hours to complete.
Incredible art, deep storylines with multiple ways to replay. Still figuring out how to access the Orpheus extension since I've already played the game in full once. I'm starting over with a replay to see if I can get the Orpheus add on to work now.
I wanted to leave a quick review here after my base review because I felt that this DLC really deserved it. I LOVED the base game. I was eager for more so this DLC was a no-brainer for me. And it did not disappoint! I knew going in that it would be a "side adventure" of sorts and not a furthering of the main storyline in the base game. I was fine with that and, in fact, incredibly glad to see this DLC featuring some of the intriguing characters from the base game that I wanted more time with (Orpheus, Eros, Hermes, Medusa).
This DLC took me just over an hour to beat, but I also beat it another 2 times after that to experience the variations of the choices and songs. I loved the music in this as well and found that this had a very humorous overtone for the most part (the speed dating scene is funny and includes such a great song). I found myself laughing a lot (until you pick green options in the final song for a bittersweet finale).

As an epilogue to the main game and a short stint getting to play as the bard himself it's fun, if definitely a step down from the base game, there isn't the same tension and impact as the base game because that's not what it's trying to do.
That said there is one song that feels like it has a very unique feel that I can;t describe without major spoilers, but it's really cool.
As much as i love the og game i feel like there really isn't enough in this dlc to justify it being made, on my first play though i found that nothing of substance was added. I don't think it's bad just needs more of it.
Get this during a sale, and only if you love the base game.
I like that this DLC focus on Orpheus and Hermes that didn't get much spotlight in the base game, but the DLC is too short. Song-wise, I absolutely adore the speed dating. But as a DLC, I am ultimately disappointed. If Stray Gods is still open to have another DLC, go big or go home.
Cool little story! Took me about two hours to play through it once. It's more fun and lighthearted than the main game. Enjoyed meeting some of the characters again. And personally I liked the Orpheus music numbers more. If you like the main game you'll probably like this one too :)
it's pretty mid tbh
Overall, I'd say I quite enjoyed this. While how interesting you found Orpheus in the original game probably varies from person to person, it certainly makes sense to have him as the protagonist of this DLC. After all, he would very much break into song just because. It's pretty silly and light hearted, though it has it's sincere moments. Not super long and I was in no real hurry to replay it, but a fun story. I think it's an interesting story and look at someone trying to move on from, well, you know. Eurydice and an awfully long time holding that grudge. While it does make some sense to have romance, since this is about Orpheus moving on, it's... not that interesting and doesn't really have much of an effect, at least as far as I could tell.
If you really liked the base game, you'd probably enjoy this, but it might be better to pick it up on sale, since it's so short and you might not be all that interested in replaying it to see other routes and dialog options.
Realized after I bought this that I need to have a save file from the throne decision day... and I no longer have a save from that far back in the game and I have no drive to play through this again just for the DLC. However, it was such a good game that I don't mind supporting the makers and I hope they can do more in the future :)
The length never bothered me, if you liked Stray Gods, you will like this.
A short feel good sequel to flesh out two of the least utilized characters in the game, Hermes and Orpheus, which was a pleasure to get through. The songs of course always had their slightly stilted awkwardness I've come to expect from the game and the longest one overstayed it's welcome, but strangely being around that song for so long really charmed me and made me far fonder of it than I think I would have been otherwise.
It was lovely being able to see some dialogue from Grace from an outside perspective (I hope that worked correctly im so bad at text formatting aughhhh )
I enjoyed my time with this greatly! I truly hope more DLC for this game comes in the future!
Nah
Great but short
I hate to give it a thumbs down as I love the base game, but I agree with the other commentators that it's too short to do the story right.
The songs are....mostly forgettable, unfortunately.
I'm very disappointed that the branching songs that they did in the base game are gone.
I dunno, it's a solid "meh" DLC.
It was a nice completion to the story, nontheless 10 € is way too expensive for 1 hour of gameplay.
Way too short, the songs just arent as good as in the original and I would have rather followed the Medusa arc than have Orpheus come back.
As a person who has participated "speed dating" more than once, this DLC make me smile :)
But sad part is that this DLC very short :(
Very short. Didn't enjoy most of the songs didn't feel like I had as much input on them as in the main story(which I loved). I thought the first 3 or so songs ranged from annoying to dull. Then the next two picked up and were good. I was preparing to leave a review telling people to stick with it it gets better, than it ended. The branching tree musical thing the original had was novel interesting and felt good I played through it 3 times. I don't want to play through again to check out the romance options I skipped cuz I wasn't feeling the vibe, for fear of having to listen to the speed dating song again
I absolutely adore this dlc and Orpheus himself, once I heard A New Love sung by this man I was stunned, I loved it. In my opinion every song in this dlc is on the same great level with the main Stray Gods game.

I loved the base game and this DLC didn't disappoint me, It's fun to see Orpheus discovering Earth and how Humans behave nowadays, BUT, yes there's always an annoying but, I wish we had more content, 1 hour isn't enough.
The songs are enjoyable, but not as good as the base game. A New Love song being the funniest one, I love the part with the cat girl and the most Epic one is Back from the Dead.
It was nice to see Grace again but we don't know much about what happened to the other idols. It left me wanting more regarding the story.
I would love a DLC with Medusa story.

~~~Other comments~~~
- A mediocre experience that links heavily to the main game through its story, game-play and functions. I do recommend this game for those who enjoyed the main game of Stray Gods and are further interested in returning after the main story-line to visit the aftermath of its events. However, this DLC is truly punished by its short playtime and is far too overpriced for the little content it actually offers.
In a word: Unsatisfying
In a few more words:
You really just cannot do Stray Gods small. There isn't enough time for a strong story, so they didn't write one. There isn't enough depth for consequential choices, so they didn't give you any. This DLC will offer you the base mechanics--pretty good songs with neat variations--but the real meat of the game just can't fit on this small of a sandwich.
I put 20 hours in the base game, so you know I got REALLY into it. I needed more Stray Gods! And was SO happy that the DLC offered me that!
Also doesn't hurt, I am very fond of Erika Ishii, so having more Hermes was NICE. And the music in this DLC feels epic and fun!
Totally worth it. I did NOT wait for a sale haha.
emotional and jammy DLC <3
more stray gods. there's some minor new things at try here but basically if you liked the base game you'll like this one too.
