Creeper World 3: Cellular automata takes over a strategy simulation.
Instead of discrete units that attack your base, a fluid-like substance spreads over the terraformable terrain. Your base, your weapons, your strategy... you must adapt them all.Creeper World 3 bends what it means to be a strategy title.
Instead of heavily scripted A.I., players find themselves engaging an enemy with theoretically predictable behavior yet which is shockingly interesting to engage. Players can build fortifications and stick around forever. Players can go for domination, quick strategic kills, or amass huge stockpiles of resources. Some play for speed, others to create art. Tiny maps, large maps, five minute missions, five day missions... the simulation scales to handle all of these scenarios.User generated content is critical and supported at multiple levels in Creeper World 3.
Dial up worlds using the DMD (Dial Map Device) and tweak dozens of constraints. Then, play and share the addresses via an on-line database. Create your own maps using the built-in map editor and upload and share on-line. Or, join with thousands of other players and peruse the databases of worlds created by others. Want to create a new weapon, a unit, an enemy, or an effect? Use the built in scripting language to create what you dream. Hundreds of engine commands are exposed and examples abound on the forums and grow daily. You can even take the built in story maps and make your own. In fact, all of the built in story missions were written using the built-in editor and the CRPL scripting language. Some of the high level features are:
- Thermodynamic/fluid physics based play.
- Billions of total missions.
- Story arc with insane and unique enemies.
- Explore hundreds of star systems with thousands of worlds in Prospector missions.
- Hundreds of hand crafted missions in the Alpha Sector.
- Dial up your own mission worlds using the 'Dial Map Device' and share the address.
- Create your own maps using the included map editor.
- Play on maps of variable size, dimension, and shape.
- Script your own enemies and effects using the built in scripting language.
- Terraform the landscape during missions to take the higher ground.
- Discover experimental weapons that devastate the enemy.
- Share thousands of unique maps with an established, enthusiastic on-line community.
- Features a unique, original, and awesome soundtrack.

So f***ing in love with this game that i can't explain. I have never been good at RTS or tower defences but this game feels different in his own simplicity.
You are not fighting against humans or other life forms. You fight against an intergalactic ocean of fluid that erases any civilization. Strategy, energy management and positioning are the keys to gain a simple meter that feels like a victory.
The level design is great with the 2.5 dimensions (with different levels of height like an orography map), and the difficult is HARD and increasingly difficult.
The best feature is the tactical PAUSE. A slowpoke like me will need it.
I'm writting this review with 30h and i predict many more. What a discovery for me. 666/10 totally recommended.
Good old school strategy game. It says 25 hours on record, but I've been playing CW since the dawn of flash games on Kongregate some 10-15 years. Love the game, the style and Highly recommend it.
About the game - You have just awakened from eons of slumber, to find all of humanity gone because of the creepers (space parasites). Gather info what happened to civilizations, gather strength and destroy the Creepers, until they come back again.
Insane amount of content, and addicting as hell.
I like blue things.
🌊 Creeper World 3 isn't about fighting an army.
It's about fighting a living ocean that hates you personally.
You don’t "win" in Creeper World.
You hold the line, panic-build reactors, sacrifice half your army to buy 30 more seconds, and pray your network doesn't collapse like wet paper.
You watch as a tide of death slowly rolls toward your last node.
You dig in. You launch mortars. You scream internally.
And if you're very, very lucky — you turn the tide back.
One, painful, glorious meter at a time.
🎮 Why Creeper World 3 still rules:
🌊 Unique enemy — you're not fighting soldiers, you're fighting physics itself.
🛠️ Deep strategy — every energy node, cannon placement, and packet matters.
🧠 Puzzle meets RTS — brain-melting maps that feel insanely good to beat.
🎵 Music — strangely relaxing as you wage desperate war.
🌎 Content — thousands of community maps + endless replayability.
Things I learned playing Creeper World 3:
• Build energy first. Always energy first.
• Never trust "calm" terrain.
• Rushing the emitter with a lone sprayer is both brave and very stupid.
• You have not lived until you’ve watched an orbital strike evaporate an ocean of creeper.
• Every single second matters.
💬 TL;DR:
Creeper World 3 isn't just a strategy game.
It's a slow, methodical war against an unstoppable, mindless force — and every victory feels earned through pure stubbornness.
It’s brutal. It’s beautiful.
It’s one of the most satisfying strategy games ever made.
🔥 Final Verdict:
10/10. Would flood the world and save it one packet at a time again.
This game is alot of fun.
Adds more complexity to the OG game style. Plenty of maps to go through.
Completed twice...
Old but gold.
Quite banal but surprisingly catchy story along with a decent difficulty makes this game a really good choice for any tower defense fan. Also, difficulty grows reasonably as campaign progresses which makes it only better.
Spent ~20 hours playing through the campaign and now making my way through all the achievements. It's awesome how many ways of winning every mission there are.
Good variety of levels and opponents. The story is cohesive and the creator seems to have a respect for the player by having visibility settings and hotkey binds, which is a fairly common standard in present RTS games with larger development teams, but it is really thoughtful on the scale of this game. I've been playing this series since I was 12 years old (by starting off on CW2: Academy), and I haven't been disappointed. Some of the levels do drag on a little longer than others, but that's mainly a skill issue on my end, therefore I won't hold that against anyone else. The graphical assets are nice too. The only real criticism I have is that the framerate seems to be on the low side (~30 FPS), but I think that's intentional and it's not a problem. I can also play this game on Linux. Overall, nice work, I like it.
Great game, actually re-playable. You can play however you like, fast, slow or whatever strategy. For me this is a 10/10. best out of all the creeper series. Also as others have said the terraforming is very satisfying.
Very addicting strategy game ever since it got released on flash game websites. Probably the best installment in the series in my opinion.
Ill be honest, i haven't played the regular game mode in at least 4 or 5 years now. but same could be said for particle fleet with a similar number of hours played. the games alright i guess. i just spend all my time beating a couple specific names on the leader boards.
Amazing game, love it.
Pretty much the only RTS game so far that hooked me to the end
Don't play it for the story, it's always "creeper is bac, muss kill". The strategy and tower defense are god-tier. You can either be resourceful and cautious or hold the position, spam buildings and go all-in with 300x towers that will not survive.
Some later levels are challenging; good community maps for fun or that requires a PhD.
Solid RTS campaign. The last few missions are hard but not frustrating. I like terraforming.
Nice lil' game to chill.
Нормальна игра!!Ё збс ага
Wonderfully addictive strategy gameplay!
Great game with a huge catalog of levels.
Really fun. Can be a little tedious.
Early review (15 hours played) --> Entertaining, so far. A more polished version of what I had hoped Creeper World 1 would be. Well worth the pittance I paid on sale.
Really Fun game
This is by far the best Creeper World game, rivaled only by Creeper World 2 because of 2's unique twist on the formula. The next instalments of the series (as of the time of writing this in 2025) just don't capture the amazing balance between complexity and simplicity that Creeper World 3 is able to achieve. The battlefield is easily readable, the structures have some nice variety without being overwhelming, the resource collection is not a chore. Moreover, it still, to this day, has an active map making scene that brings out both the maps for the normal game mode and the highly modded maps with new mechanics, twists, and experiences. I especially love the CSM maps (I’ll let you discover what that is on your own).
Buy this game. It is worth the price.
Been a while since I finished playing it, but I remember it being worth playing. The graphics and controls are dated by now, but since I've grown up playing other similar flash browser games, nostalgia still holds up.
I like the music, story, and follow of the game. There is a good game in here, but there is a lot of easy to fix problems that just make it not playable for me. There isn't enough graphical setting options, so all the text on my screen is just way to small, I can barely read it. The game would benefit from a more robust wiki or games rule pdf; the main campaign tries to teach the game mechanics, but its a poor explanation and I end up with just having to learn by playing instead.
don't judge a book by its cover 10/10 pretty lit game (the enemy is a liquid though)
this game 100% better than any pills
5/5 star
Achievement for cheaters - read the guide and you see how much Devs put their brain in it. That´s why no support.
good
cool
Good Game. It is a good concept and has good gameplay. The story is short, but there are many, many more worlds to conquer if you want to keep playing. : )
Good game.
Loads of fun! It seems very simple, but ramps up quickly. I really like the fact you can move your turrets, advancing the front and reorganizing your assault as needed. It's so satisfying to start surrounded and pushing through as your power grows. Extremely addictive, runs good, and doesn't burn up cpu resources.
Another game I have pirated previously to buying my first game, but now I buy it cuz it's really fun
It's fantastic, unless you're a slime mold.
perhaps one of the best RTS games ever made
It's peak.
Except Farbor. Fuck Farbor.
very very addicting and simple to get into
after being introduced to the series with the demo for 4 i thought the 2d would be a downgrade but this game does everything so well.
Im glad that you're able to randomly generate levels, i can see myself sinking many hours in the future just with that feature
the story is interesting as well, an official wiki exists but some parts of it are broken sadly :(
You can at least catch up on the story of 1 and 2 there before jumping into 3 if you care about it but its not necessary as the most important plot points are explained
As good as any of the top-down ones or the 3D one. Perfect games. Haven't played the side-view ones.
It's ok, kind of a neutral for me. Not very exciting TBH.
For some reason, despite being old, it is addictive and fun throughout!
10/10 - great td, it just works
9/10
I just realized I've been negative reviewing the creeper games I dont' like... so I probably should give positive review for the good ones.
This is, imho, the best game of a truly unique series. enjoyed it.
Endlessly fun game for playing while listening to music and relaxing
Tower Defence distilled to its simplest form. One of the best around.
I have played the earlier games as well and this is a fun game. Can be quite challenging but the campaign is well balanced. A good TD/RTS game.
One of the best tower defense games
