Harder but still good
Perfect puzzle game
So nice of the dev to make more of the original game, and the puzzles are harder to boot. Very fun working through these and the increased use of other mechanics made this even better.
Hexcells and Hexcells plus are cool as each of them has 36 hand-crafted puzzles, but in my opinion buying Hexcells infinite is the best choice since it has infinite amount of computer generated puzzles (in addition to the 36) so you can put thousands of hours into it.
Nevertheless, I found this game well worth the money as you can see from the hours played, the hand-crafted puzzles are really fun and a bit easier than most of those that are generated by the computer.
Also a useful thing to know is that Hexcells is really quite easy and the Plus version provides much more of a challenge.
Incredibly fun and relaxing puzzle game that, while challenging, still manages to be approachable to anyone! Took me about 6 hours going very slowly and methodically to get all achievements, but I'm sure some could shave a few hours off that. Highly recommend!
It's just like the first game, but the difficulty curve goes up really quickly. The puzzles are still solvable with your current game knowledge and it builds you up over time, but they ain't easy.
Plus is the hardest game of the trilogy.
Best bought in the Complete Pack!
If you're buying this you're probably buying it alongside the other hexcells games. All of them are great, if you're a seasoned puzzler you might find them a tad too simple, but still a great brain puzzler.
Hexcells Plus
Hexcells Plus by Matthew Brown takes the classical concept of the minesweeper and expands upon it, creating something enjoyable and more unique out of it.
The mechanics of the game are intuitive, and each time a new mechanic is introduced, it is done in a clear and understandable manner.
The levels slowly increase in difficulty, and can become moderately complexe or time consuming to solve — more than in the previous game — yet they remain within a relatively casual range.
The visual aesthetics of the game are clean, polished, and of good quality.
Hexcells Plus is overall a good quality, more challenging, and enjoyable puzzle game from Matthew Brown.
A great sequel to follow up a retrospectively simple base game. The puzzles start off simple, but get progressively more challenging and thought provoking as you make your way through the ranks. I found myself speeding through the last few clumps of levels, which caused me to make many more mistakes. I became quite frustrated with a couple levels in particular near the end, but that is just a testament to the quality of the game, as there is no guessing required for completion. Would definitely recommend going through each game chronologically in this series.
10/10 Puzzle Game
Hexcellent Plus
A worthy successor to Hexcells. It has the same limitations of just 36 levels, but at least there are fewer tutorial levels.
minesweeper advanced
2nd part, clearly more difficult than the 1st, with all the pros including low price retained. However if you have to choose then 3rd - infinite - gives most content providing as well millions of generated puzzles AND user-created ones.
hexagons are still the bestagons for minesweeper
Chill Minesweeper-like game (but better, since all puzzles have a solution).
IF YOU DO SOMETHING IMPURELY EVEN ONCE THIS WILL MAKE YOU RETHINK YOUR WHOLE RUN AND YOU WONT WANT TO 100% AFHAEOIHF OIESHGIPOSJE GIP;OSRJDG;ISRJGOIRS GRERGT
i need to relax i need to relax I will 99.9% then restart from scractch
I feel like this game has a fundamental flaw in that you have to force yourself to figure it out. You can just guess some things, then restart the level after you've memorized enough of it to get a perfect score the next time. So if your logic is faulty and you happened to click correctly, you're not punished. I'm not sure how you'd solve that with the format for this game, but I haven't played infinite yet, so maybe it's solved there. For what it is, and how cheap it is though, it's a lot of fun.
Great little puzzle game, it scratches the same itch that Picross does for me, but with a little twist. The gimmicks are actually quite enjoyable too, sometimes helping the player, sometimes hurting the player. The new gimmicks introduced here hold true to that statement as well, although they feel a bit more cumbersome here. Personally my largest complaint is that the white overlay is hard to see on the white background, leading to some frustrations. It took me about 6 hours, but I imagine it would take longer for less experienced players
If you liked the previous game Hexicells, you will like Hexicells plus.
If you haven't played the first game (Hexicells), start with the first game!
I liked the first one better, this one is much more difficult
Ive been Hexsold + on this game
is gud
one of my favorite minsweeper games definitly you should get the 3 bundle
Definitely much harder than the original Hexcells which I liked.
Minesweeper but more fun love it
Well done hex form factor minesweeper type puzzle game - felt it was generally very fair. Also, liked the fact you could miss 1 on a puzzle and still be considered perfect. Wish there were 1 or 2 more on some of the larger puzzles.
Addicting.
Playtime: 10.2 hrs
It was nice that the dev managed to add a bit of new things and gave us a second one in the series. Still enjoyed it like the last one.
I find this one super hard. Tougher than Squarecells, which is harder than Hexcells (not plus). Very fun. Great soothing music. Maddening challenges. My brain hurts...
I love minesweeper and I love this game, great puzzles with amazing puzzle resolving logic. Thanks for the 8 hours of fun and thinking!
If you enjoyed the first Hexcells you'll enjoy this game too. It's more complex as you can probably guess but it's still possible to solve all puzzles without guessing. It's always so satisfying to finish a puzzle without making any mistakes; don't be afraid to take a break (all the games have a checkpoint system) and come back later if you get stumped.
Hexagons are Bestagons
Really enjoy these Hexcell games - have gone back and played through them a few times - great minesweeper games
Hexcells Plus is logic puzzle game.
This game is a really complex puzzle game similar to Minesweeper, albeit with a lot more elements to it. The graphics are simplistic but well made, the relaxing music is nice but it could use more than one track and the sound effects are extremely satisfying. I don't enjoy the levels that requires cross-thinking (such as using two parallel or perpendicular lines to figure out the solution), but thankfully, this is only a fraction of the levels. The game features a respectable 36 levels, which may seem short, but some of the levels take upwards of 30 minutes to solve!
So far every games of this series has been a blast, that is if you enjoy melting your brain down long enough to finish them all. Puzzle and logic games fanatics will rejoice. There isn't much more to mention about the game, there is no guessing required, you can solve the puzzle without making a single mistakes with logical thinking, but most of the time the solution is not obvious. Everything is well explained and if you misunderstood something, you will quickly learn it the hard way and adapt.
Overall, cheap, long and difficult puzzle game. Only for fans of problem-solving games!
