Mediocre but captivating.
The game is not bad but it is meh. I would probably recommend you look at foxhole instead.
Games fun! lots of replay potential
Ran by part time dev's that make a straight banger of a game 10/10
dont let the look fool you this game is the violence, 10/10 it beat me up a bit.
Hama Offensive Wikipedia Page Simulator
This shit bussin
better than you expect
Turn up the gore level to 100% You'll thank me later.
Tanks/Vehicles can't go through trees and thin fences. gets quite repetitive without simple destruction physics.
One of my first higher hour counts on steam. I love top down real time combat. Game is addictive. Still people playing on a few servers. RWR is not dead yet!
gud :)

This is a really fun casual game if a bit difficult at times.
The DLC's are kind of hard but that's it.
400000000 dead 15 ft. of ground gained
Very fun combination of tactical controls with a lot of arcade action. Feels very reminiscent of the old Star Wars Battlefront but with a different perspective and more individual control. Your a lot more fragile but can do more to minimise the risk like taking cover (which is extremely strong, only fire 1-2 shots at a time and you are almost never in danger unless they flank you) or laying down suppressing fire to force them to cover then taking aimed shots to whittle their numbers.
Campaign starts you very few choices, but spend a few hours pushing the front or taking flanks and you wind up with access to gear, squad-mates, and most importantly radio support. HQ controlling what objective to push is pretty fun too as it's entirely up to you what base to attack, the current objective is just where most of the AI will go. Capturing a less defended base is usually easier and opens the flank or divides their attention. You can also deprive them of APCs and tanks which makes counter-attacks much less formidable.
There are some serious difficulty spikes coming from a few issues combining into a miserable slog. AI flip-flops between a vegetable and aimbot unless they're allies in which they crowd grenades. One minute you're 30 feet away and they can't figure out where you are, next you get 1-tapped from off screen by a Private. Vehicles can take more rockets than you can carry, and don't expect your allies to help as they barely ever carry anti-tank. Vehicles and turrets also feel your main-character syndrome and will absolutely turn 180 to pump a tank round into you instead of anything else. Some maps are LOADED with vehicle spawns and god forbid your tank does anything other than drive in and die to 9 rockets. Enemy officers can take a lot of punishment before being knocked down, then some more to put them in bleedout, then another 3-4 rounds to finally kill them. Sometimes enemy bases are loaded with defenders and will keep clown car spawning all over, especially their last point as they just respawn en masse if they get a single frame of over 1/3 control. The Greycollar final mission is all chokepoints with tons of MGs and mortars with enough bodies around that sniping the gunner won't do much as they get replaced in less than a second.
For all it's trouble the game is worth it in my eyes, for every time you die an unfair death there is a kill spree that never seems to end. Just get used to holding crouch behind a wall and firing at the edge of your screen and you should rank up no problem. If a point is proving too tough to take spend some time collecting money and call in paratroopers, and don't stop until you've dried your bank account or the point is yours. Seriously the radio has no cooldown outside of it's use time so keep calling cause if HQ hasn't blocked your number you haven't called them enough.
its basically just isometric ravenfield but you can add a 3rd team to the combat instead of just 2
Very underrated game, nice to play every now and then
I love the top down arcade shooter game play
Optional permadeath modes for single-player modes would be nice. Some games are fun with permadeath, not this one; or at least not zombie mode. I had just unlocked the biggest gun, and only had killed two zombies with it before the fire delay killed me. Sadly, I panicked when I ran into a few hard-to-kill zombies, tried to fire without remembering the delay, thought the gun was empty, tried to reload, not working... looked down to see if I was hitting the reload key, looked up to see a goo thrower knocked me down and the other zombies had an attack that instantly knocks you down and as there were 3 of them, I had no chance to recover.
But really? The gun does not auto-reload when fire-on-empty?
Its just plain old fun
simple gameplay and controls, feels very comfy. very moddable.
shits hits great bros
9.5/10 all day
Nice test
8/10
I will always like RWR and return to this game here and there to run and gun. The CO is miserable though, often near stalemating on several maps by repeated illogical objective choices. Not sure if the difficulty of the game was designed with that intention but its frustrating.
Oh and multiplayer is not for the feint of heart to configure. All in all own't complain any more. Great game. Recommend.
This is a remarkably fun game with a focus on battlefield style territory control. The "open world RPG elements" amount to a leveling system for your character and a point based looting system that allows you to sell drops to an armory as well as find rare weapons, equipment and vehicles for use on the battlefield. All around, it's a great game with plenty of customization that contains only one fatal flaw. That flaw is the damage system which is entirely based on random number generation, every shot having a percentage chance to kill that decreases at range, with no method to guarantee weapons fire actually amounting to anything. This system leads to a lot of frustrating, unavoidable deaths that discourage aggressive game-play and force you to always keep distance with the enemy, but has the side effect of making some situations unwinnable due to skill not being a factor. The way to mitigate this is to equip the various vests in the game that allow you to survive more hits, but aren't really a solution so much as a band-aid as they're just as likely to either soak up an entire magazine as they are to be destroyed by three stray bullets. Luckily, this doesn't apply to explosives so they can be relied on even though they come in limited supply unless you manage to loot a grenade launcher. There are mods that greatly improve the balance, such as making guns actually have guaranteed hits within a certain distance, and offer entirely new experiences on the workshop, but unfortunately there's a limited number of servers up so you'll either have to create your own, invite some friends over steam networking or play solo. The only issue is again, the damage system, which can often ruin the enjoyment of the game depending on how your rolls play out as a massive kill streak turns into a death streak and your bullets get replaced with nerf darts in critical moments. There's no getting around it, that is stupid and the fact that anybody thought it was a good idea is ridiculous. A 50% chance for bullets to hit is still a 50% chance for no bullets to hit and there's times an entire magazine of 30 rounds will roll the latter. That being said, it's still worth playing, just remember to forgive that one completely inept design or play one of the many mods available to not even have to deal with it.
Criminally underrated joy of a game. Great for people like me who want a good combined arms, large scale isometric shooter but are too scared to play Foxhole lol
just some good ol fashion top down run n gun type of fun.
its like playing army men, but online with friends
super fun lil game that you can easily spend a couple of hours in.
if you played the army men games on gameboy or n64 back in the day you'll love it a lot.
if you don't like dieing i wouldn't play this game
Rad!
Wouldn't have imagined this game to be so fun. Picked it up and the Edelweiss pack for 8.00 on sale. I have put in 13 hours already and it's a blast.
Not overly complicated, doesn't require a ton of resources. Huge maps and very dynamic gameplay that ranges from just hustling to a new location to absolute chaos in battle.
Reminds me of games were simpler but still a ton of fun.
nice
Very overstimulating 9/10
The battles in Moorland Trenches go crazy. Trying to get out of West Town is chaotic.
This is a fun little top down shooter. Imagine a DOTA style game except there are no heroes. As you gain experience you can recruit other soldiers to join your squad and can eventually lead offensives on your own. Mod support is strong, but the biggest thing to me is that they're still releasing free updates and content NINE YEARS after release. The devs are simply awesome and clearly love this game.
Battlefield with some project zomboid thingy camera fun to play and its cool for player xp styles more guns more fun
RARE KINDA FUN
Don't know how I missed this game all this time
Cool game
If you love all out giant wars this game is for you
Very fun playing solo or with mates
Honestly not much to say about this game, it's fun, a high amount of customization for how you want the game to play, and it's reasonably priced and if $14.99 USD is too much then waiting on a sale is well worth it. It's easy to just pick up and play and you can genuinely stop wherever you want in single-player... I have sadly died a time or two from loading into a game that I apparently quit mid firefight so yeah, you can save and quit mid fight in this game so be careful of that.
Are the normal people gone? Alright good.
Okay, now that the normal people are gone the mods for this game are great and special mention goes to the GFL mods (I really like Castling, shame I keep crashing when trying to load the last two maps in my campaign but I'm sure that'll get fixed), Running With Trenchfoot, Virsenian Glory, Running from Exterminatus, and, one of my favorites just because of what it is, Running With Tiberium.
Oh and for you who like boats there's an Azur Lane mod, sadly no Kantai Collection for those who prefer Kancolle to Azur Lane.
W real battlefield
