Very good puzzles
An excellent puzzle game that resembles a hexagonal, modernized minesweeper. Beautiful music and pleasing sounds allow you to relax while playing. A short game but an elegant experience.
Only takes a couple of hours to finish, but it is fun and satisfying.
Compelling puzzle game with lots of levels.
This is basically just Minesweeper 2. I've loved Minesweeper and Picross for as long as I can remember and this just combines those into a game that just leads to so many perfect puzzle "aha" moments. Frankly, the perfect puzzle game.
Игра стоит каждый потраченный рубль
Very fun and simple puzzle game that has a good difficulty curve
"Engaging Logic Puzzle That Stimulates the Mind"
A cool twist to Minesweeper. It's great!
Nice game. This would be perfect for mobile. I would love to play this on my iPad!! Are there any plans?
Fun game, but not the endless game I was looking for.
A very good puzzle game. Two thumbs up.
one of the games that actually helps clearing my mind i really love playing it while listining to rain sound
Hexcells
Hexcells by Matthew Brown takes the classical concept of the minesweeper and expands upon it, creating something enjoyable and more unique out of it.
The mechanics of the game are intuitive, and each time a new mechanic is introduced, it is done in a clear and understandable manner.
The levels slowly increase in difficulty, and can become moderately complexe or time consuming to solve, yet they remain within a relatively casual range.
The visual aesthetics of the game are clean, polished, and of good quality.
Hexcells is overall a good quality, slightly challenging, and enjoyable puzzle game from Matthew Brown.
It's really good to pass the time, its like Minesweeper, I really like it.
10/10
Amazingly fun puzzle game. The puzzles are similar to minesweeper and a little bit of sudoku. It has a very nice atmosphere and is easy to lose yourself in. It's not the largest game but for the price, on sale at least, it is definitely worth it.
It's a mix of nonograms and minesweeper, I had a lot of fun completing it.
Nice little game!
The only negative point would be that its too short - not for the price which is absolutely OK, but for the fun of it. I really enjoyed the game as did my wife and my 8 yeard old (still do).
Levels are not too hard, but for the last two main stages you need a litle bit longer. Challenging for smaller kids, relaxing for older ones. :-)
A good game.
Hexcellent
hexagons are the bestagons for minesweeper
A short Minesweeper-like puzzle game that will leave you addicted by the end of it.
Hexcells is a Minesweeper-inspired puzzle game that had me hooked from start to end. The game, same as it's art-style, is simple. Color, or uncover, all of the tiles on the board to complete the level. Whether you should uncover or color the tile, is decided by the numbered tiles. These tiles tell you the exact number of colored tiles within the tile's radius. By carefully examining the board and using your deduction skills, you should be able to complete the level without mistakes.
A fantastic thing about this game is that you won't ever be forced to guess. If you don't know what move you should do next, there's guaranteed to be something that you've missed or not pieced together.
The game starts out easy, going by normal Minesweeper rules in the first 2 worlds. In World 3 the number indicating the number of blue tiles can now also apply to Lines, and in World 4, Tile Rules are introduced, which dictate whether the tiles have to be grouped together or not. Worlds 5 and 6 don't introduce anything new, but the levels get a lot bigger and more complex.
In conclusion, Hexcells is a nice, short, Minesweeper-inspired game that will leave you addicted as well as satisfied with your purchase.
As a final note, I will also compliment the nice music, sound effects, and overall atmosphere that enrich the game that much more.
Chill Minesweeper-like game (but better, since all puzzles have a solution).
well thought out puzzle game, purely based in skill and not luck.
Great variation on the minesweeper formula, but man does it stress me out when I'm playing on a laptop with touchpad without a mouse. 1 misclick and I gotta start all over again so I really feel like I'm defusing bombs than relaxing when I play. In a good way of course.
its a good game
Very short (~2 hrs) and easy.
Ive been Hexsold on this game
Good puzzle game series
Similar to Sudoku
Nice short and sweet puzzle game. It is a lot like minesweeper and iterates on it in creative ways. It is reasonably priced and I would recommend this for anybody looking for a simple fun game that they can play sporadically.
Great little puzzle game, it scratches the same itch that Picross does for me, but with a little twist. The gimmicks are actually quite enjoyable too, sometimes helping the player, sometimes hurting the player. It took me about 2 hours, but I imagine it would take longer for less experienced players
Fun brain game to pass the time
Hexcells is a very simple, short and minimalistic, yet clever, puzzle game. As someone who really enjoys the genre I recommend trying it out since it's short and cheap. Especially if you like puzzles, you're garanteed to have a nice and relaxing time as well as an entertainment that will sharpen your mind.
Better than Sudoku, equal to Picross — in other words, Hexcells is among the greatest number-logic-puzzle games of all time. Your neck starts to cramp in the later puzzles (an issue fixed in the sequels), but it's an otherwise perfect experience.
The difficulty progression is like boiling a frog; you won't know it's hot until it's too late. Although this game is considerably easier than its sequels, I'd recommend playing the series from the beginning to develop the intuition needed for the series' harder puzzles.
The most inexpensive therapy I've had all year.
A very relaxing game that is similar to the Minesweeper except it has hexagons and gradually teaches additional rules and is hand crafted.
Very sweet and short (I finished it in 2 hours)
Quite enjoyable but a bit too short. Definitely buy it in a bundle on a really big discount to make it worth the money.
There are other hexagonal minesweeper games but this is well made for what it is.
Very polished minesweeper-esque game with some nice unique mechanics, though quite a bit shorter than I expected (Steam says it took me 57 minutes to 100%). Would recommend playing this, and then Tametsi after if looking for significantly more content of a similar vein.
Not bad.
Short and fun puzzle that reminds me a lot of minesweeper.
Very forgiving for making mistakes as well, but there is an achievement for doing it without any mistakes.
Minesweeper but better. Easy enough to understand, hard enough to be challenging. If you really like puzzle games, this is the game you need. Recommended. 9/10
I recommend getting all three at once great deal, want game check out either me or aliensrock on Youtube mine right now is just Gabriel Farnum ill change it later
Found this game through Cracking the Cryptic on youtube many months ago. Coming from a person who likes doing very complex sudokus with various constraints, it is a very simple but interesting logic puzzle game. It got better as more constraints were added. One thing I would like to see is even harder puzzles but I will check out their other games to see if they have harder puzzles.
Well done hex form factor minesweeper type puzzle game - felt it was generally very fair. Also, liked the fact you could miss 1 on a puzzle and still be considered perfect; prevents the failure on misclicks.
Playtime: 2.4 hrs
This is the first game I played by this dev, and it was quite relaxing and a little bit challenging for a few of the levels. Because how nice the experience was, I went to buy the rest of the similar-looking puzzle games by him and wish he will develop more in the future.
relly fun. it's simpel. i like minesweper but this is better becuse it uses hexagons and you never need to gues a tile. also theres some cool mecanics.
Amazing puzzle game. All logic, no guessing.
me when brain hurts
