About the Game
Gunpoint is a stealth puzzle game that lets you rewire its levels to trick people. You play a freelance spy who takes jobs from his clients to break into high security buildings and steal sensitive data.To get past security, you'll need to make creative use of your main gadget: the Crosslink. It lets you see how all the security devices in a level are wired up, and then you can just click and drag with the mouse to wire them differently. So you can connect a lightswitch to a trapdoor, then flick it when a guard walks across to make him fall through.

Been wanting to play this game for years definitely worth every penny just for the humor alone
Don't even really like puzzle games
Absolutely incredible, glad I finally got the time to play it.
Shout out Sara for buying it for me all those years ago when I was so poor I couldnt afford a $10 game
Honestly an interesting and funny game. It was a pleasure to playthrough. I'll definitely replay it again.
Clunky Controls Dampen the Fun
While Gunpoint offers clever puzzle mechanics and a light noir story, the controls ruin the experience.
The inability to pan the map with the mouse and the constant camera reset when toggling the Crosslink make navigation disorienting and frustrating. The game feels unnecessarily clunky for such a simple concept. Not worth pushing through.
Very fun game, short and sweet, but with endless replayability.
Weirdly fun and memorable. I wish this game were more popular, it deserves it. Definitely a hidden gem.
Gunpoint the title says it all. You have to point your gun corectly!
Amazing game!
A stealth game at heart - sneaking past guards, clobbering them after catching them unawares, manipulating security - but one mixed with platforming and puzzles too. Stealth games have had puzzles before, of course, but this is an unlikely combination that works brilliantly. It's a 2D game with simple controls, letting you connect electrical bits to each other in order to trick guards and hack into terminals, stealing data, and escaping the building having created as much havoc as you please. Using the Bullfrog Hypertrousers to jump colossal distances and break through glass never stops being fun, and neither does opening a door to knock out an enemy. The only thing that might put hardcore stealth fans off is that the guards don't react to footsteps, so you can pretty much run behind someone and they won't notice unless you bump into them. The save system - letting you load an autosave that happened a few seconds ago - works well, allowing for lots of experimentation. Add in some great story elements and dialogue, and we have a winner of an indie game that's more than worth its price.
I got this game for the hat.
Pretty cool hat pretty cool game
demos are always nice to have!
the game itself feels a bit short, and sometimes a little bit janky, but, is overall fine.
for a little over 3 hours this was hands down one of the best indie titles ive played this year and definitely the best value for money. Unique, fun, great music, funny and very tasteful. Would recommend.
Play demo. Game is exactly like it...
Got it with discount though.
Funny Low Quality Hitman
Though I bought this game while it was on sale, I would still recommend this game while it is off sale. The writing for the mission briefing is great, the level design makes you challenge it many, many times, like a puzzle, but in a good way. The only downside is that there is not 20 hours of content in here, but you can always go to workshop for extra levels. Overall, Great Game.
Well rounded game with lots of replay-ability. 9/10
punched a guy in the face 135 times
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Real short but very sweet as the game that started the legendary defenestration trilogy its a fantastic game that is witty not just in dialogue but also in the game play its self.
100% worth your time like come on man its not that expensive just play it
Gunpoint combines 2D stealth and puzzle solving in an incredibly satisfying manner - filling a similar niche to "Mark of the Ninja". It is a brief but memorable experience that manages to fully explore its own mechanics without ever feeling repetitive.
The game is divided into a series of short missions that see you infiltrate a building filled with guards and various security systems. Each mission supports a variety of play styles - you can knockout every guard, or try to go completely unnoticed - and both approaches feel satisfying. Even within those paradigms, there are a number of different solutions to each level, thanks to the vast toolkit available to the player.
The first half of the player's toolkit consists of physical movement. This includes the ability to leap ridiculous distances, climb walls, smash through windows, and knockout guards.
The second half is the game's truly unique idea - the ability to rewire the level itself. For example you could disconnect a camera from an alarm, and connect it to a door instead. Now when the camera detects you, the door opens!
These two systems work together incredibly well - the level rewiring allows you to create your own infiltration plan, and the movement mechanics allow you to put that plan in motion.
The game awards you with "badges" for completing missions in certain ways (e.g. no violence, no witnesses, etc), but no story or game play are locked behind these - you're never punished for playing your own way.
There's also a humorous "private detective/corporate espionage" story that is told in little snippets during the briefing for each mission. It's a great companion to the game (and fits the tone well), but its definitely not the focus.
TIP: Some of the upgrades/abilities have a tutorial (via a button labelled "Try Out"). I recommend always doing these, as some of the abilities have subtle quirks that are explained in these tutorials, but not in the game itself.
I can confirm that you are in fact able to point a gun in this game.
good game
First Steam game where I unlocked every achievement and still can go back and have a ton of easy fun. Can't think of anyone who wouldn't like this.
The game is an absolute blast. Truly. I played it years and decided I wanted to throw some more time at it for a 100% run and its bringing back some good memories. So many more things to uncover in the game's story then it lets on. It's not ground breaking per say, but as a package its a 10/10 game. Its just fun. Get it! Yes even in 2024!
Good.
Really, really, really good little game. Funny. Engaging. Works on any computer. I'm just reinstalling it for my third playthrough.
Good game
Fantastically fun puzzle game. 12/10
Really fun. The pixel art style is simple but tasteful and well-animated. The pacing of the game and the difficulty curve feel just right. The story isn't terribly inspiring, but it really doesn't need to be for a game like this. It didn't overstay its welcome, and was really fun for a sitting or two. Would recommend.
It's a fantastic, fun little game that does what it intends to do well.
If you liked games like Mark of the Ninja you'll very likely enjoy this.
Solid
The game is completed. That would have felt good if I hadn't just taken a seven story body slam.
A short and brilliant game. I come mainly for the hacking gameplay but stay for the story and quirky writing.
I like. :)
Simple great puzzles, slowly ramps up the difficultly and rewards actual thinking (outside of the gun you can buy) where a lot of the games mechanics and systems want you to think encounters through. You can't just brute force them like many "stealth" games.
Because you're so fragile to damage you have to actually stealth around.
I look at Gunpoint and I say to myself, "yes."
An absolute gem
Gunpoint is a short and sweet stealth game that's around 80% puzzle, 20% action. You're a private investigator who infiltrates various restricted areas by remotely hacking security systems. For example, instead of a motion detector triggering an alarm when activated, you can rewire it to open a locked door instead. The puzzle lies in the variety of security devices that can be creatively rewired to work in your favor -- mostly to manipulate or incapacitate security personnel -- and the order of which you execute these hacks.
There are numerous ways for a player to accomplish his/her goal on each level. Sneaking past security is as viable as neutralizing all threats on the map. One can even unlock a gun and the ability to literally kick down doors if they wanted to go loud. With the more aggressive play styles, the game rewards the player's fast reflexes, hence the "20% action" classification above.
The story is convoluted to an almost absurd degree given the context of short puzzle game. It involves selecting dialogue options and branching story arcs. The was a time when one of the main character's dialogue options was to break the fourth wall and reply "I lost track of this story several levels back..." I personally wasn't invested in the plot, but given the gameplay driven nature of this game, it didn't have a significant impact on my enjoyment of this title.
Overall, Gunpoint is fun 4-7 hour puzzle game with interesting gameplay mechanics. I recommend picking it up on sale, forgetting about it, then loading it up as a palate cleanser after finishing a more complicated game with a much longer play time.
Fun game, reminds me of Mark of the Ninja, although far from being as polished. Screen resolution is kind of a lack luster to me. Since the game does not take modern resolution into account, this kinda forces the windowed mode, which, in turn, make the character very very small. Although the game was nice, this ruins it a little bit for me.
Cool game
It is like a good vanilla ice cream, it's delicious it's good and it's over quickly
it's easy to speedrun too, and the achievements aren't that difficult
10/10
a very fun game, you won't get much playtime out of it but the core mechanics and puzzles are enough to keep you occupied for a while
Came for the hat, stayed for the game.
fun
hilarious game that requires some thinking
Pretty good
The story is neat, the gameplay is cool and fun. + you get a free hat in TF2 (Crosslinker's Coil)
its ok
The game does what it promises and implements it wonderfully. A neat and fun little puzzle game, though it can be brute forced and cheesed to a certain extent. (8.4/10)
short but fun
Really cool indie game with a fun story
