Pretty interesting
Fun puzzle game, beat it in 2 hours.
this is a really cool game
Be careful, because it's very short.
Nice start and idea, but story and ending are terrible.
I see that there are a lot of inspiration in Rusty Lake series and inscription. I like 4d games that are breaking a wall and I hope that next game will have more compelling story and nice endings.
This game is amazing !
it makes you use your brain the puzzles arent too complicated and the story is interesting
the fights are also well made and tbh I really enjoyed every part of it
the graphismes are very great (reminds me a little of inscryption) and there is so many things to discover
I really really recommand it for a fun time
dont miss the 3 endings !!
Yes! Good, short!
Wonderful! I adore these multi-layered escape room games and this one knocked it out of the park!
Seemed very intuitive at first but started becoming a bit frustrating in the second half of the game. Still a masterpice of perfectly short length with great progression and puzzles that never get you bored! Honestly, it's impressive how they managed to come up with and implement all these gimmicks into one game
one of the best escape room games I played with a unique twist.
A unique escape game experience !
The puzzles are brilliant, blending two worlds: a pixel virtual game on a vintage computer, and a mysterious cabin in a forest. Actions in the pc game directly affect the environment in the cabin, creating a clever play between the two settings.
Some puzzles are challenging and may tempt you to use the hint system, while others are very easy, almost to the point where I questioned whether they were a trap because the answers felt too obvious.
Fights can be easy if you're quick to think, but it can also be challenging if you give in to pressure because of the stressful and intense athmosphere. Despite the "horror" tag, the horror elements are minimal, nearly nonexistent, so don't expect a scary experience.
The game is short, with 3 different endings it takes from 3 to 4 hours to complete, but in my opinion, it’s absolutely worth the price.
It's also very easy to get 100% achievements. If you're aiming for them, keep in mind that some are missable, and unfortunately, there's no manual save option since the game saves automatically.
If you’re a fan of escape room games, this one is definitely worth checking out!
It's a good escape the room style game, recommend.
very very cool game with cool puzzles
best escape room game I played so far :)
A very well built escape game with multiple endings ! One of the best of the kind.
Fantastic little escape room game!
I highly recommend it if you like puzzles and are okay with a few minor jump scares when you fail one.
It is fairly short—I managed to beat it in a little less than three hours—but it was well worth the time and price.
It's a nice puzzle game with Inscryption vibes but without the card games and the depth of Inscryption. Kinda short as well, I beat it in two seatings, but it is possible to finish it even faster.
Relatively short but otherwise one of the best escape room game ever.
It's an okay and enjoyable game, though the ending felt a bit anticlimactic, even with the multiple endings I experienced. Still, the game was impressively made and very creative.
Absolutely loved the premise and mostly loved the execution.
Fun puzzles; cool to see the interaction between the game world and the real world.
WOW LITERALLY WOAAWWW IDK WHO MADE THIS GAME BUT WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY. THIS GAME IS GEM !!!
solid bite-sized puzzle game that has a similar feel of other Daniel Mullins games, but not as much depth. Still, pretty fun for what you get.
pretty strange puzzle game =D
"Is this Game Trying to Kill Me?" is a sort of fourth-wall-breaking escape room puzzle game, where you are simultaneously solving puzzles in a 2D dungeon-crawling game on a computer terminal and also puzzles in first-person 3D in the haunted house where the terminal is. Some of the puzzles were reasonably interesting, but the game's aesthetic felt pretty generic and there wasn't much in the way of compelling characters or story. The game was pretty fast-paced and I finished in about 3 hours. Overall I'd still recommend picking this up on sale if you're interested in the concept.
A decent game with some fun elements and puzzles though not a particular stand out either. Just a good solid game with some heart. Though the story endings besides the gold one just feel a bit phoned in.
The game is compelling. Puzzles difficulty was just right and the hints help you through the tough ones. A fun and short experience. The ending was perhaps a bit abrupt otherwise a solid game.
Good interesting puzzle game! Cant wait to see what these creators make next ! will stay tuned for more :)
Fun puzzles, simple but solid narrative, hope to see more in the future!
This game may be trying to kill you, but it's still a good time.
I was really enjoying this game until I got to a part I couldn't figure out. The solution seemed pretty clear, but nothing I tried worked. I looked up a guide, and I found that the solution I had been trying was the correct one, but my game had bugged out, and there was an item I was not able to interact with. Having the correct solution while the game kept making me feel like I didn't was incredibly frustrating, and it pretty much killed my enjoyment.
I might come back to this later and try again since I didn't get very far on this first playthrough, but until then, I can't recommend this game.
Interesting mechanics that definitely hit a similar vibe to games like Inscryption and There Is No Game. Some of the puzzles were challenging and rewarding, and the hint system helped to keep things on track if you got stuck.
However, I found some of the puzzles were obtuse in a "find the one thing you need in this house full of stuff" kind of way ( i.e. not rewarding and I felt like some of my time was wasted ). The bosses can also be frustrating in a time-wasting way, as you die in one hit and, for the last boss in particular, I died at the second phase several times just trying to figure out what was even going on for each attack - and a death meant restarting from the beginning of the fight ( it wasn't laborious doing the first phase again, but having to do something a second time just to get another chance at probably dying to yet another attack because I don't understand what the game wants from me meant I was not having fun ).
I also found the story a bit weak and the ending(s) weren't particularly rewarding.
On the one hand, it's a short indie puzzle game of the kind I usually like and that I'm happy to pay full price for, on the other hand, I don't feel like this is a game I enjoyed enough to justify the purchase.
Why the wizard kinda-
SUCH A FUN GAME! It's on the shorter side (Finished it in 3-ish hrs) but so fun with awesome puzzle's and cool in game dynamics! It has a very spooky atmosphere with a few jump scare's that keep you on your toes! I hope it gets some DLC's or something of the sort cause I want to keep the fun mysteries going! Also this is an Easy game for Achievement hunters like myself (only 17 achievements and most are pretty easy to earn; with only a few alt. endings to figure out). It did take me a few playthroughs to get ALL achievements but it was well worth it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone who love brain tickling puzzles and horror aesthetics.
The design fits the need of the game. Gameplay wise, there was a lot of variety and the puzzle where very clever.
A pretty cool indie puzzle game with some horror elements. Very cool use of a game within a game.
Not very long but well crafted with a lot of character.
A quite fun little puzzle game, it's not particular difficult, but the atmosphere is great and the puzzles varied.
Note that despite the horror tag, this is a puzzle game. There is nothing chasing you or other such nonsense, the "horror" is purely in the setting (where it belongs :) ), like in INSCRYPTION.
10/10 game
A pretty nicely done escape room-like game, with some nice meta logic at play. None of the puzzles were that conceptually difficult, but sometimes the answer was a little difficult to find in the world. That said, the game has a hint system that doesn't punish you if you get stuck, so even in those cases it wasn't that bad. The game is pretty easy to beat in a single sitting, but overall is a well made experience.
It killed me. So I guess it is good?
This game has tedious puzzles sadly. The artwork is cool though
This game is intriguing as someone who loved Inscryption, however the mystery, plot and sadly the puzzles all fall flat. This is a glorified walking simulator, and there's no single puzzle that stands out against the rest. If you came here for the puzzles as I did, look elsewhere.
This game was a lot of fun to play through. The 2-world "gimmick" can be tiresome in games, but they pull it off really well here. I'm also a huge fan of in-game-optional - hints. Much more immersive than pressing alt+tab and googling when you're stuck. Great atmosphere and art style, fun and rewarding puzzles. ~5hours to beat using a couple hints.
Clever use of perspective switching to solve puzzles, and isn't very long. Worth playing!
I would recommend this game, but on a discount. It's around two hours and doesn't really have any replay value. HOWEVER, those are a solid two hours with no fat. The game is filled with puzzles that are very clever and the gimmick of playing a game within a game is unique. There was only one puzzle that irked me. It was on a tight time limit and felt like mostly trial and error.
The story is...there. It exists to give context to the escape room and not much else. The wizard doesn't show up much either, I would have liked more of him. The endings are terrible too. All three are a single image with a single sentence that amounts to "You did the thing. The End." This isn't a big deal since the story is whatever, but it was still pretty shocking and honestly a little funny.
Finally, the achievement review: They're not really fun to get but they ARE easy. You can get them all in one play through, even the ending achievements.
Yes, it was. And it succeeded several times, in this short (100% in 4-5h) but very fun adventure. If you enjoy well crafted puzzles and the Inscryption vibe, you'll love this one.
Pretty fun. Very on the short side, but to be honest if it was just more of the same I would probably not finish. Vibe similar to Inscryption, way more straightforward though.
I had wishlisted this game after playing the demo during a Steam Next Fest, and boy am I glad I did! This was an absolute delight from start to finish. The story is interesting, the visuals are wonderful, and the gameplay is super fun. I really liked the variety of puzzles in the game and using the 3D world in combination with the 2D game world to solve them. There were a few puzzles I used hints for, which all turned out to be because something was hidden in plain sight or blended in with the environment so well that I didn't know it was something I could interact with. I liked that the hint system was genuinely a hint system and didn't just give me full solutions to puzzles. I also really enjoyed that you could use the process of elimination for certain puzzles, so I wasn't locked out of getting all three endings even though I only found two of the floppy disks. I think this game is great both for puzzle game veterans and puzzler newbies.
⭐ Act 1 of Inscryption if it were a dungeon crawler!
🏆 If you're achievement hunting, note there are 3 missable ones (though the game's short enough you could race through and repeat them if you really want).
Really enjoyed this! I'm always gonna be a sucker for meta-puzzles and escape room experiences that need you to move between multiple spaces to piece together information.
I did all 3 endings and don't REALLY understand the story, but honestly it's fine because the gameplay was what I was there for.
Go in knowing that "dying" is part of the process of figuring out information/trial-and-erroring and isn't a loss condition.
All the puzzles felt fair and logical, and the only ones I struggled with were the more dexterity-based ones rather than the logic-based ones. That's a skill issue though, not the game's fault.
