With over 350 unique items to be found, you will invent your own solutions to sticky situations. With over 170 different monsters, many with unusual attacks, you will find plenty of sticky situations!
The procedurally-generated dungeon and vast array of possible items gives immense replay value. Some games you'll find a good weapon early, other times you'll rely on wands or potions or spells.
You don't see it much in the all-action video above, but some of the most fun is had just standing still trying to work out how to get out of a sticky situation. Should you try that unknown potion? Maybe it's Healing? What about that wand? Maybe it's Magic Missile... or maybe it's a Wand of Create Monster, and it'll get even stickier!
You start with your choice from 16 character classes, each with different starting equipment, stats, belief system, and available talents. The game you play also depends very much on what interesting loot you find. Maybe you'll find a great spellbook and put all your efforts into turning your uneducated knight into a master battle mage. Or stroll through the dungeon as a Bard, enthralling an every growing audience of blood-thirsty but music-loving kobolds. The choice is yours.

Challenging dungeon crawler with fun combat. Would be funner if my friends didn't waste all my consumables.
I also own Wazhack on iOS and Android, so have played a lot more then the time on here. ONe of my favorite roguelikes.
Love this game. Been playing for years, on and off. I think I suck at it, but that goes for all video games. This has enough hope, variety and whimsy to keep me interested, and more than enough challenge to keep me from winning. I still spot new things, messages, that I have never seen before. This is a masterwork. I hope it lives forever.
The best classic hardcore roguelike, and by far the best entry point for someone who hasn't played a true roguelike before but would like to get into them. The weird 2004-era-RuneScape graphics are great and full of charm, and they help you better visualize an experience that traditionally gives you tilesets at best. The controls are also instantly intuitive yet textured - click the wand in your inventory, choose to zap with it, then drag the arc of the shot to match what you want, and maybe if you can aim it just right, you'll hit everyone in the room. That's a level of nuance you don't normally get, but presented in a way anyone could understand.
I really can't recommend WazHack enough. It's $5, just get it.
(This review is mostly in praise of the mobile version of the game for Android, as that's where most of my hours lie, but I've played the PC version too and it holds up here just as well.)
great replayability
I'm feeling a bit guilty for recommending this game. It's like recommending crack.
This disclaimer should help to alleviate said guilt:
Recommended IF you are somewhat gluttonous for punishment
As roguelike as roguelike gets, but sidescrolling.
This game is just honest fun, simple but very replayable. Prepare to grab some cursed items and chug some poisonous bottles (Q is to quaff(drink))
