NEW! Mosaico supports fullscreen borderless windows
Mosaico can now make your games run fullscreen in a borderless window! This means that ALT+TABing out of the game doesn’t disrupt your desktop anymore. It’s easier to use voice-chat and video-capture apps. You can also lock/unlock mouse cursor to game’s window automatically or via a keyboard shortcut.
About the Software
Organize your apps on screen and create a different layout for each activity! With Mosaico you can easily create app layout snapshots and quickly switch between them, saving you a lot of time and improving your productivity. It’s like a virtual desktop, but more flexible and more powerful.
Advanced window management
Mosaico greatly improves the basic Windows™ positioning feature. You can create a desktop layout by dragging windows around, Mosaico will show the available positions directly on screen. Drop the window and Mosaico will automatically resize it to fit the new position. Fast and easy.Mosaico is ideal when you work with many windows at the same time. Create your own layouts, capture them in a snapshot and restore any of them with a single mouse click. Mosaico will automatically launch the needed apps, resize and reposition them! Each snapshot is fully customizable: you can add or remove apps, enable or disable them, change command line arguments and much more.
Mosaico is perfect if you have a multi-monitor setup, too. You can send an app to another monitor and it will keep its proportion to the new screen. You can also automatically restore a snapshot when you connect an external monitor, for example for a presentation with a projector (this feature coming soon!)
Mosaico is all about speed and personalization!
There are configurable global shortcuts (for you, keyboard ninjas), tens of layouts to choose from and a lot of options to tailor your experience exactly the way you want it to be.Mosaico doesn’t get in the way. It doesn’t slow down your PC. It doesn’t waste your memory and it doesn’t waste screen real estate. Just send it to system tray and continue using it normally.
Mosaico is easy to use. It saves time, and it’s constantly being improved by users feedback.

This worked fine until the message "Sofware not registered" started to apear. I sent a mail to [email protected] but they dont respond. My license code was supossed to be managed by Steam but right now practically I've lost $179MXN. Check the comunity forums here on Steam, it seems i am not the only one with this issue.😒
I'm going to tentatively recommend this, but ONLY on sale, and only if you're willing to jump through the convoluted hoops necessary to get it functioning properly. TDLR at the bottom
Looking through the reviews on this, I saw a lot of complaints about how you couldn't run the program unless Steam was also running, and how it always showed your status in both Steam and Discord as playing it. Right off this bat, this would have been a deal breaker for me. However, most of those reviews are from eight-ish years ago, and upon further inspection, I saw newer claims that this problem had been fixed. I really want a program like this, so I decided to give it a shot.
Upon launching, it shows in both my Steam and Discord status. So this is not turned off by default, and from what I can see there are no options to toggle this off within the program itself. The community discussion has a pinned post explaining putting Steam in beta mode as part of a workaround. I don't want to do this, and this workaround is from 2015 so there's no excuse why a workaround like that would still be required after all this time.
The alternative solution is that you're offered a serial number upon launching the program. You can download the program directly from the developer's website and have it completely independent of Steam using that serial. This is another convoluted workaround, but it removes the "now playing" status and reliance on Steam. In my opinion, this is lazy and unacceptable. This program was released on Steam in 2013 and there is NO excuse why any of these problems haven't since been patched.
That said, once having jumped those hoops, the program works as intended and exactly as I had hoped it would. So why bother getting it through Steam at all and not directly from the website? Because of sales. ONLY get this while it's on sale. I would argue it's not worth the full price of $20 to begin with, but such laziness should especially not be rewarded. If you don't mind all the necessary steps though, it's a decent program.
TLDR:
-Does what it says
-Annoying and unnecessary hoops to remove the "now playing" status
-Worth having if said hoops don't annoy you
-ONLY get on sale
Great idea but the usability is just not really there. The capture function to store your desktop state at least remembers my open applications but it never loads in the same place. Its probably not compatible with Multi display. On top of that the ability to snap windows to their grid also fails frequently when switching between users on my windows 10 machine. These things combined basically make this software totally unusable for my set up. I spend more time resetting the software trying to undo the bugs than doing what I want I end up just going without it.
No help from support, doesn't start with windows, doesn't even open when you click it. Only seems to work on the first install.
Forums no help. Fuck this software.
I dont understand with the bad review, it works as expected, i'm buying the steam version but using the desktop version and using it everyday since i bough it. it's my holy grail for the superwide monitor like i'm using 21:9.
If there's an input for the dev maybe there's a tutorial for using the full feature? shortcut maybe? really baby step tutorial, as english is my second language.
Don't waste your money on this. It has multimonitor bugs, after windows update it's completely screwed. Developer is not responding, wasted money basicaly.
Perfect for multiple monitors and made even better when combined with mouse macros. 10/10 would recommend.
A must have for multiple monitors Works smoothly and consistently allows good dynamic organisation of multiple windows, does exactly what it says on the box, it has increased the productivity at work.
Only downs sides, some application specific windows don’t behave properly if you save configurations that’s more the apps fault than mosaico though, and it doesn’t shut down through steam and steam blocks you using this with other steam apps.
I use 4x2k monitors at home in various configurations and 5x1080 monitors at work and this software is absolutely perfect for this. I routinely run instant messages, browsers, visual studio, VMs and various shell terminals at any given time to jump around in work and development and find that Mosaico really takes the cake with window management. There is definitely a learning curve to the software and has a ton of configurability, but after the initial hump this software immensely speeds up my work space.
Got a chat window for work? SNAP - in its rightful place off to the side. Got Reddit up for... productivity reasons? SNAP - Its on the left half of my front monitor. Found a blog detailing intricacies of threading SSH reboot commands? SNAP - bottom half of my portrait monitor.
Even though this software is simple and easy to install/configure, when you do need to ask their support for any questions they are on the ball and truly knowledgeable about the request at hand; truly top tier customer service.
As with many programs I've used, there are a few things which need to be fixed or that I think should be changed in Mosaico, but overall I find the software very useful and I've had a stable experience with it thus far. I saw people mention frequent crashes, but I guess either I'm just lucky here or it's been fixed by now in that regard, as I haven't had it crash yet. The rest of this review is mainly reports of minor bugs I've encountered and new feature suggestions for the developers.
I mainly am interested in the manual tiling of windows with Mosaico, and that works just fine for me. I added several different optional positions to the manual arrangement screen through the options to allow vertically dividing it into thirds. It's great that they can be added or removed for larger or smaller screens to minimize clutter.
I have a few suggestions about the manual tiling feature. I use a touch-screen monitor, and while it is possible to touch and drag windows easily enough to position them with Mosaico, I believe it could use some additional options for better taking advantage of multi-touch displays. I suggest the ability to tap outside of a window with a second finger while dragging the window to cancel Mosaico's tiling (which I prefer to leave enabled at all times). Reaching for the mouse and right-clicking seems pointless and isn't easy to do when touching the screen already, and hitting Q on the keyboard also requires another hand. I'd also like it if I could leave manual tiling disabled most of the time and drag with three fingers anywhere on a window to engage tiling (similar to Ubuntu's three-finger drag for window positioning). Besides these things, while this isn't important at all, I thought it would be good to allow the user to change the colors of manual tiling from the default RGB to custom ones, to make this feature seem more like an integrated/native part of the operating system. That's just a "polishing" thing which could come later in Mosaico's development, though.
I briefly tried out the auto-arrange feature, and while it produced awkward results each time for me, I believe it could potentially be very useful if it sees some improvement. I also think there should be a keyboard shortcut for auto-arrange for when the user doesn't have Mosaico's main window open. When I used auto-arrange, it made one window I had on-screen not show up at all, another tall and narrow, and another small; this didn't cause the screen to be even close to completely filled by the windows. (The test windows were Opera 27.0, MediaMonkey 4.1.5, and Windows' File Explorer.)
Presently, it seems like Mosaico can't handle alternative taskbar positions very well when restoring saved layouts. I have mine on the left side of the screen, and Mosaico seems to ignore that and have my on-screen windows offset beneath the taskbar, leaving some empty space on the right side of the screen when I restore a layout.
Besides these things, Mosaico should also be able to handle arranging skinned windows, namely Steam's main one.
The main system on which I've used Mosaico uses a 27" touch monitor with a native resolution of 2560x1440 pixels and Windows 10 Tech Preview.
What a useful program, this program helps you with organizing your windows. It will find the best situation for you so you have have multiple windows on the screen at the same time and they will fit. A simple program that keeps getting better with every update, the devs are involved in the community and really try to bring what the community wants and needs in this program. This is the best window organizer out there.
In its current version I cannot recommend Mosaico. While the program does what it says and does it very well, you cannot run it and any other Steam games at the same time. Nor can you Stream anything as long as it is running. I have DisplayFusion and it is running and I have not encountered ANY problems with it running in the background and interferring with the ability to run any other Steam applications or games.
To the Developer: Please fix this problem! If you don't know how to do it, then maybe you can contact the makers of DisplayFusion for some tips.
My major problem with it was finally solved. The problem discussed in the comments. It doesn't show itself as the "currently played game" in steam anymore..
Parts of the functions have been added into win10, But since i patched back from it to 7, and since there is more options and flexibility here, i can finally recommend it now.
However for a nice to have tools it's rather expensive. If the functions are worth that money is everyones personal choice
So, I've been using Mosaico for admittedly only a few days...but the promo videos look better than the software itself. Mosaico tends to crash a bit, and adds a measurable amount of time to startup. The "Auto" button isn't intelligent at all - command prompt windows are crushed to the point where nothing is legible. Windows are frequently sized to the point where only the title bar is visible. The UI isn't terribly intuitive; it's simple to the point where it begs questions like "I think I can make additional desktops, but I don't see how", and "Is there a way to manually create 'regions'?
Now, to be fair, the nature of magically figuring out which window should be what size is going to make messes, and I understand that. I'm not expecting perfection, and I'm not expecting mind reading. However, a known window size for a command prompt seems a good place to start; frequency of the use of a window being proportional to a window's size being another, with the existence of a horizontal scroll bar as a result of a potential move being still another. Mosaico has potential, but its current iteration is more sizzle than steak. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it.
Oh dear god... this new update actually made it even worse.
Thank you uakiki for responding. Unfortunately, these updates have done nothing to improve the experience. If there's one program I expect Mosaico to be able to handle, it's Steam - you know, the platform you're selling your product on. Yet Mosaico can't keep track of the different windows Steam creates. A chat window takes the place of the main window, the main window gets compressed into my friends list, etc.
I actually switched to a different music player, because Mosaico breaks Winamp terribly. But Aimp doesn't even get launched or move by Mosaico, so I have to reposition it manually. Which is the entire point of spending $20 on a tool whose sole purpose is to move windows around.
And while this isn't Mosico's fault, any application you keep open shows up to your friends as you constantly being in it. For something like Mosaico where I just keep it open, and press enter on occasion to straighten my windows, my friends can never see what game I'm playing. Because of this, I now avoid buying applications on Steam.
I really wanted a tiling manager like this, but if you want to buy it, don't get it on Steam. It will always display that you're using this application to your friends, and it requires Steam to be running.
Absolutely perfect for multi-window management. Exactly what I wanted from this program. Easy to use, just ctrl +alt + drag and drop. Recommed to anyone who uses a large/multiple montiors. Very good buy!
Don't buy this, there are loads of free varieties of this. I don't know why i bought it. it is lacking a few desireble features.
It would be a lot better if you were able to run Mosaico without having to run Steam. If you had that option I would definitely recommend. Great for productivity, works with multiple monitors, saves your window size "snapshots" and you are able to load them and open the programs that were saved in the snapshot instantly.
Like I said, if you could run w/ out Steam (like with a key code) I would recommend it because of how useful it is.
Holy JEZUZ. Multi tasking FTW. This is probably one of the single most useful things i have ever downloaded. EVER. I would recommend this for anyone.
