This game is so unique and I really dig it.
The FMV cutscenes are so charming, and my god the music is amazing!
Puzzles are a bit unfair as is with games of this era.

I think it is a genius game. Real life footage with the early 3D graphics, Kafkian theme of being a roach, adventure, deadly traps. Love it.
Bad Mojo is quite an experience unalike any other. It falls into the category of 90's full motion video (FMV) games that typically have strange stories attached to them (Phantasmagoria and Harvester are great examples of this). The story is somewhat simple, a man intends on leaving the country in hopes of a better life. After progressing through most of the game, you become aware of the player being an insect researcher. You work in a lab setting and enjoy your work, despite a troubled past (very few friends and family in his case). After obtaining a large sum of money and all of the preparations to leave are in place, you are mysteriously transformed into a cockroach in your apartment. I won't spoil anything else, but it is something.
You move along backgrounds (various screens that are representative of small parts of each room as if you were really a cockroach traversing the environment) of your apartment which is in the same building as a bar. Not too terribly rare as some business owners live in their business sometimes. Each level of the game is different rooms with difficult puzzles to solve and gruesome sights to see (like dead rats or the bar owner's horrible hygiene around the place).
The game will take about 4 hours or so to beat (unless you are very familiar with the game or use a walkthrough). The visuals are very much of the time, but highly detailed. I believe this is what makes the game great as the graphics are dated, but it is easy enough to discern everything in the environment. The sounds and UI (or really the lack of a UI as you don't have weapons, ammo, or anything since you need to solve puzzles, and not die to traps) are done well enough, with no issues during my play through. Before now, I had never heard of the game, but have played quite a few other FMV games (some being good while others are perplexing messes). There isn't much to hate about the game other than a few puzzles being quite hard, but most of them are intuitive. Also, only the final puzzle is timed, so there isn't much to be frustrated about. If I did have one recommendation, save often on multiple slots as the final puzzles can be tough. Well, either you enjoy FMV games or you don't. If you are a fan, the game is worth getting in the bundle, but there are much better games out there. If you are looking for more FMV games to play, I would recommend getting the bundle and trying them all out.
Developed by Pulse Entertainment in 1996 and rereleased in 2014 by NIghtdive Studios, Bad Mojo is an adventure game different from every other, that uses strange perspectives and a bizarre narrative to convey a Kafkaesque plot of self-discovery.
The game starts with the main character presenting his personal struggles and, by making his final preparations for what felt like a perfect plan, grabbed a necklace that was supposed to be from his mother, but by gazing upon it a mysterious spell transported his consciousness into a cockroach.
In this strange new body, you must navigate innumerous screens, comprised of a combination of pictures and pre-rendered objects, where new screens are available by navigating to the edges of the screen. As a cockroach, new angles and perspectives increase the out worldly feeling of controlling an insect.
Speaking of controlling, the game can be played using the keyboard, where you can choose between 3 different key schemes in the “preferences” menu. No matter what control scheme you choose, the player character is controlled in a “tank control” like way, where the left and right direction keys rotate you and the forwards and backwards keys move your character forwards and backwards.
The game is divided into different hubs that, after being unlocked by completing specific objectives, allow travel to different areas of the game. Clues presented as rhyming riddles in full motion cutscenes that can be accessed each time you walk over what looks like an eye icon, which at the time of the original release were impressive, feed the backstory of the characters in a fitting manner to the rest of the game. Complementing the visual style of the game, an interesting soundtrack is also present, and by solving puzzles audio cues are also played.
Depending on different paths taken, the game does contain different endings, so there is some replay value, but a walkthrough may help to decrease the frustration some segments may produce.
As a classic example of the imagination of mid 90s adventure games, Bad Mojo is an experience that is beyond comparison, and although some elements may seem outdated, the game presents all the ideas of what new technologies and medias could bring to games as a medium for art, and for that reason I highly recommend this game.

Don't let the kafka-esque framing fool you; the actual story is fairly straightforward. I would suggest a walkthrough; there's some old-school design choices that you're going to want help with. An odd but worthwhile experience, especially if you're a fan of 90's cheese.

Unique experience. I had the game for ages but never got around to really playing it. You can wrap it up in about 3-ish hours. The digitized photos and renders hold up even after all these years, I think. Even not on sale I'd recommend it for people who like a grimy, bleak atmosphere. The story is told through environmental cues and FMV. It's rather sweet, but the gameplay feels stiflingly oppressive despite being almost a walking simulator. It's light on puzzles, but unfortunately a couple of the very important ones might not even register as a puzzle to you because of the vague way clues are delivered. It may be helpful to have a walkthrough handy in case you get stuck.
Still, for the price it is a one-of-a-kind experience that is worth experiencing. Give it a try. It can dip down to the price of a soda when it goes on sale.

I remember seeing adverts for this game in Amiga magazines as a kid back in the 90's, but I have never played the game back then. Unfortunately, this game didn't age very well and it isn't really much of a game either -- I think we would call it a walking simulator today. I don't see any reason to recommend this unless you have nostalgia for it.

Bad Mojo is a classic top-down adventure/puzzle style game the 1990's were so famous for, this game has some disturbing visuals and cryptic puzzles, but it's captivating enough to keep you wanting to finish the game,
I have enjoyed playing Bad Mojo since I was an early teenager and I would recommend this to just about anyone and with the price tag you cant go wrong.

Entertaining and weird, but definitely shows its age. If you're into old FMV adventures, Bad Mojo is short and sweet. There are a few graphical issues involving the video footage turning the play area black or leaving artifacts, but they vanish as you walk around or change areas.
I only completed 95% of this game since I was unable to finish due to a breaking bug.
If you open the menu while in your room, in the trunk, viewing the panel with your childhood drawing, you will be moved to a position where invisible walls prevent you from leaving. I hadn't saved in a while, and was already so close to the ending by this point that I just decided to watch the rest of the game on YouTube.
Although frustrating, I think I'm in the low minority of players that will ever encounter this bug. Just make sure you save once in a while in case you run into an issue like I did.
It's a very interesting game in which you control a cockroach around a dilapidated apartment and have to find the secrets within. I won't tell more than that, because I highly recommend you give this game a go. It's got a very classic feel to it.
This is the WORST game I have played. Controls that are terrible, constant bugs (most of which prevented me from playing the game, including soft-locking my save at the last 5 minutes of gameplay), so many sections that, visually, are impossible to tell from kill areas/walls, and puzzles that are both very simple (boring) and frustrating to do (god-awful physics that require constant spinning of your character to get in position). Most of the walls will spin you around to the opposite of where you want to go, roaches that make you THINK you are supposed to follow them, but lead you to no-where MOST of the time (very few times they lead you to the next interactable). The game tricks you in the beginning to think its a "so bad its good" type of game by having very poorly acted cutscenes, but these are both short and far-between, making there be no reason to actually play the game. Just look up the cutscenes and chuckle for at most 10 minutes. This game will only bring you headaches and disappointment.
Game is very fascinating although the script writing and acting is not much to be desired. In fact the acting is terrible haha. The game itself is very gritty and grungy in a good way. Its more exploration than anything with a few puzzles thrown in. The fuse one made no sense to me so I had to use a walkthrough.
The game is a little buggy too.....no pun intended. After you save the game and continue playing, if you reload then you wont be able to progress because certain events will not trigger. You have to close the game and reopen in order for the save file to load properly.
